Noticed an oil slick in this water and right on the beach was what I thought was a large bird covered in oil. I approached it, it stayed calm, almost knowing I was wanting to help. I started to wash the bird off with the water I had and that’s when it shook it head, it’s ears popped out and I instantly knew it was a huge fruit bat. I poured the rest of my water on it and walked away. Then I woke up, rather fast, not quite sat up in bed yet with a jump all the same.
