Great video Ave!! I've been saying forever that NI & AKAI should make a baby!! Especially with NI's sounds & Akai's hardware, it was a no brainer!! I'm glad MPC3 is here!! Time to update!! Keep doing what you do Ave!!👊🏾💯
Moving from competition to collaboration is good for business. Whoever makes it possible to integrate 3rd party plugins in a standalone unit first, wins. ...tons of technical barriers in the way of that, but this makes it seem like things are moving in that general direction 🤞
What are you talking about Native Instruments started out as software. The hardware development was like a decade later they are mostly known for being the most stable plug ins you could get in the 2000s. They have always had a partner manufacture to develop their hardware and know apparently it's going to be Akai.
@@LetsTalkCowboys-dl7fh honestly, I don’t see that happening. Native Instruments have NKS, which initially supported their own hardware, the Maschine and the keyboards, like the MK3’s. NKS is the backbone of those products.
Looks like NI is donating the guts before they cremate Maschine Plus. If you already had NI sw, you already own a laptop. Only reason for NI to collab with Akai is because Akai’s sw devs know how to do what NI could not do.
This collab is music to my ears.. I already around 1300 kits, from my Komplete 14 collectors on my card through kit maker. Now this is on a whole nother level
@@LaidbackSounds But imagine a world where you plug your s61 mk3 into your MPC One+ and it all gels together, after bringing over a beat you started in Maschine. Or something.

To me, this shows that NI has given up on trying to make Maschine (Hw&SW) a competitor in the space. They are focusing on what works best for them, Their SOUNDS. The Maschine 3.0 release was just a "Here Y'all go, damn" type of thing. Now that they've finally released 3.0, I don't see them ever making any major changes to the platform again.
I think Native instruments will continue but Maschine hardware as far as groove boxes go is done. They have fallen so far behind. I think they bit off more than they can chew the past 15 years. I say 15 because you can see how slow their roll outs have been the past 5.
I want an X-SE so bad, but i'm afraid they will drop a new flagship with better specs. I may just get a Moog Muse, and rock with my Live 2 until Akai says the word. Regardless i'm keep my Live 2 for travel purposes. Micro freak and Live 2 are a battery powered powerhouse.
🤣Naw...that DEFINITELY ain't gonna happen. 🤣 50 would bring Ghost back to "Power" before he does an album with The Game. The egos in the studio would be INSANE. Dr. Dre couldn't even get them to work together. I love The Game's music but he's just one of them dudes that likes "Chaos".. That Antonio Brown.. The NI announcement is exciting. I love that more doors are opening for MPC. Just goes to show how great these product are. Feels like a “If you can’t beat them, join them” move from NI lol. Do the NI packages eat up a lot of ram and hard drive storage? I’m concerned about installing on my 2017 MPC X…
The selection doesn't do much for me yet, but this is good news. Kontakt and Battery patch support would be gold. Reaktor ensemble support would be bananas.

I was about to buy kit maker this coming Friday, but imma wait to see if my native instruments expansions from komplete 15 will be available in the future to be able to use with the mpc. As of now, the ones we can use we have to purchase.
Greetings from Spain, After updating my AKAI MPC ONE PLUS to the MPC 3 operating system, I encountered MIDI issues. For the Cobalt 8X, the solution was to delete and recreate the problematic MIDI track, as the instruments changed when PLAY was activated. With the Nord Wave 2, while preset selection via MIDI is respected, the volume resets to the original at each song start from the AKAI. Devices like the Waldorf Streichfett and two Arturia controllers only needed channel reconfiguration. Once reconfigured and saved, the system creates a copy of the file ending in "_Import". Sharing this to assist anyone facing similar issues.
List edit is great for making “infinite” tracks, lots of elements with different probabilities that change a lot. I make ambient sleep tracks and other stuff like that with list edit.
Instrument won’t load with song! Anybody else having this problem? I did the free trial on analog dreams and cloud supply yesterday and made a hit. Now it gives me error code on those two.
Can we finally use our 2.0 projects without breaking? It always broke because I have multiple instances with the same drum/same program. I really want to switch but I have way to many 2.0 tracks I don't want to lose
i'm a Maschine head.. i used MPC and Akai joints way back in the day.. So, i'm just curious.. if Akai's product is so legendarily great.. why are they in Native Instruments kitchen trying to pick up stuff.. & the stuff they're needing to get.. is the very reason i needed to go to Maschine. i could make a laundry list.. but they're basically admitting what is better
Bro, as a long timeNI user, I feel two ways about this.. one since I switched back to MPC, which is my roots, I’m excited for this.. however as a native instruments user, it’s kind of sad to see that they are willing to help the competition instead of crushing the competition. The only justifiable reason I could have is that native instrument is looking for another revenue stream to assist them with trying to crush the competition… Thought?
I don’t think most understand what is going on here I been waiting for this for some years now !! Native instruments has some sounds unmatched and to have it armed on Akai MPC is diabolical!!!
Hey Ave, There's no need to purchase the native instruments expansions if you already owned them in the past. I just uploaded a video showing how to get those same expansions in your Akai hardware for FREE...
Same, but hopefully those of us that already own komplete series will not have to re purchase the plugins and expansions all over again? But if so, I'm more than likely gonna buy them. This is 🔥. 🫡
@ yeah it’s worth having it in stand alone. I work at a job where I’m on my pc 8 hours a day. I like to cook up in stand alone and it’ll be worth having it.
I think this is R.I.P. for the Maschine+, but that's probably a good thing. That R&D should have gone to a Maschine MK4 release and Maschine 3 development, IMO. I think NI can do something good with Kontakt Development, if they move more Sound Design/Synthesis onto Kontakt (cause they are just about "over" REAKTOR, at this point) in addition to things like LEAP, etc. (which can help add additional value to future Expansions and Libraries/Play Series with Combinations, etc.). I think they need to morph Kontakt into what HALion and Falcon already have become, and probably drop some of the hardware lines they're selling (which compete less and less well with alternatives on the open market): Audio Interfaces, A/M Series controllers, Maschine+, etc. I think they need to start looking into contingency to end some of their software platforms, as well (Battery, REAKTOR) - but I think this will require additional developments in products like Maschine (Battery) and Kontakt (REAKTOR). Maschine+ also had the unfortunate side-effect of forcing them to continue to develop Massive and FM8, which they probably wish they had discontinued along with Absynth 5 (despite the crying we cold foresee, I would have agreed with this).
Ave I have a legit question: why won’t Akai implement a “fold” feature in the grid and piano roll? It’s sometimes impossible to edit midi without it being mind numbingly frustrating on my Live 2.
The way things are going, if NI continues to 'collaborate' with other competing hardware and software music competitors, they'll be the only competition (!) in town sooner rather than later!
Waaaaaaait waaaait are we heading to a world where MPCs can control Maschine software? That makes sense if 1. NI doesn’t want to make hardware and Akai wants to stay standalone 🤯🤯🤯
