    I agree 💯% I find myself preferring a LCD over an OLED even if it doesn't have local dimming.

      I find a really good LCD to be so enjoyable to watch. I just love having the extra headroom to make the tv "my own" in a way

    Interesting perspective there's a lot to consider. I migrated from A90J to a Bravia 9 and it's been fantastic. Movies look cinematic again not like a painting. I think the primary strength of this TV comes from the backlight having a good balance of power and control to really keep up with the reference monitor APL. If your previous experience and research up to this point is pointing you towards Bravia 9 I think you should follow that hunch. Good luck!!

      Welcome to the channel!
      I am wanting to do the same thing. I am happy to see people talking about it. We have gotten to the point where mini led backlighting is offering 90% of oleds contrast in my eyes. But I feel OLED can't hit anywhere near that brightness.
      What size Bravia 9 did you get and what size was your a90j?

    • @444chroma
      @444chroma 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From 55" to 75" so the added size is making a huge difference as well. Letterbox bars aren't bothersome anymore and I still have plenty of picture to look at. No need for a bias light or anything just a dark room and centered from 6 feet away. Before the A90J I had a LG OLED and the A90J proved to me that the scene apl is critical. That's partly why I was drawn to it because Sony recognized higher apl images had been neglected for too long and they didn't try to chase the biggest number possible for highlight detail like the others. I think Sony knows all this that's why they said "cinema is coming home" like they are finally able to give us what we always wanted.

      @@444chroma I imagine the immersion is vastly improved. And the brightness should "project" the image into the room more along with the size. I'll be going from a 65 inch to an 85 inch in my home theater.
      And I think you're definitely right. The fact they're able to get so close to their reference monitor and the grading for it truly does bring cinema home. I'm excited for where we are as a technology. Remember about 10 or so years ago when 4k was really just starting and HDR really wasn't a concept yet? It's crazy

    I enjoyed my lg c9 up until I got my samsung mini led qn90a. I couldn't go back to oled,having them side by side was just a huge difference in terms of hdr impact in favor of the mini led

      Hey! Sorry I missed your comment. MWave was fantastic. I got to experience the best OLEDs from Samsung, Sony, and LG, along with the Bravia 9 and TCL QM8. I am posting a review on the Bravia 9 soon. The other stuff there was incredible. I saw systems I will never be able to afford, but man, talk about incredible. Definitely recommend going next year if you can. You won't be disappointed.

But this was excellent. Glad that you got to confirm it's what you want. I had to buy the 75 B9 blind but it paid off. I knew enough about what I wanted and what Sony and others were saying about it that gave me enough confidence. Congrats to you and the future Mrs btw!!! I bet she will love it too

    • @SpencersStuffTV

      I get it to an extent. Usually that live sound comes by taking something out of the frequency response. There are purists out there... I am not one of them. I think it pulls the emotion out of it
