My 76 225 was stolen from me 8 months ago. She was black with red leather interior. Just beautiful and she's gone. I hope this car goes to a good home. I love those old Buicks
Wow, LOVE seeing these awesome survivor cars of the 70's Bill! This was one of the boldest designs Buick ever did! That tail light treatment was so cool. Man the bumpers were gigantic! That seat cloth brocade was really awful they offered in '75, but once recovered in a cloth or leather one color, would be so fine. Loved those wheels Buick made for so many years. Man - It would be so fun to own this car. 455-wow! You find some great cars Bill!
It's an Electra 225 custom hardtop. SMS auto upholstery may have the original seat fabric. They had it for my 1977 Regal and 1975 Park Avenue. The things it needs replaced or are missing are not available but there are some workarounds that look presentable. I have never found any place that would rechrome those 15 inch 5 on 5 inch bolt pattern type Buick sport wheels. The wheels are very unique the way they were manufactured. The regular steel wheel full wheel covers are beautiful and very heavy. Makes me miss my 1975 Buick Park Avenue. Find it a good home with a big garage!
I love the size/lushness of the grill and the distinct BUICK lettering above it on the 75's. The 76's grill and side marker lights were more refined in some ways but the 75's full width grill is a sight to behold...
@@christianbugatticg I thought I mentioned it previously but don't see it in the comments, so I must have forgotten. Anyway, the hood ornament on your 225 is the 79-85 era hood ornament. The proper one looks like the crest on the trunk badge and wheel covers - with the armored knight head - and appeared all the way through the first two downsized years (77-78). My grandfather bought a new 75 custom four door hardtop (white, with black vinyl top and interior, power "bucket" driver seat, cruise, speed warning, fender mounted sentinel lights...loaded for a "base" except no vertical rear "bumperettes" which I think makes the rear look more menacing than grandpa's 75 looked ). I spent much of my childhood in that car and remember falling asleep b/c it rode so smooth and was comfortable and quiet. Ended up being my first car. Friends called it the "Love Shack" and the "Batmobile." Once fit eight in the cabin (cute girl next to me had to "help" steer ;) My cousin had a 76 Park Ave coupe with a Banana Yellow body and tan vinyl top he jokingly called "the Jalopy." It wasn't, it was stunning. A relative bought a 77 and was showing it off. It's design did a good job of retaining design elements and proportions of the larger cars with further refining them. Still, they had those weird slanted headlight bezels, and were, at the end of the day, nowhere near as GIGANTIC as the 75-76. I once played chicken with a city bus and almost won...
Very nice. These cars make excellent entry level purchases for enthusiasts who want something affordable to show up with at the local car cruises. A duce and a quarter is never a common site, so would make a very nice addition to the local scene. Those seat inserts are intriguingly ugly……lol!
My Dad bought this model in ‘75. Dove grey with a pinstriped cloth interior. We drove this car out to DFW from Ohio to visit my sister and her husband. People would walk up to me (at 14) to ask what kind of car it was. Talk about stunning!! Buick knew about styling. I guess that’s why I bought a ‘73 Buick Riviera (boat tail) in the late 70’s
I am from the UK and Love these old "Land Yachts" Yet again a wonderful example of these Great Cars. The only thing I did not like on this Buick was the interior. Otherwise, yet another beautiful example.
Is there a Link to you’re bring a trailer ad? I’m curious to see what it sells for I have Have the same car in light blue white top with the same light blue interior from the original owner.
I still think Buick had some of the nicest looking road wheels around Cold start and drive video ought to be great those things ride just like a true definition of what a land yact really is. Just floating along on the concrete sea
It doesn't really need anything at all other than the edge of the driver's seat. I would hate to misquote you. Maybe show this video to an upholstery shop and see what they say. I would think it couldn't be much.
@@jessepatrick3795 So the auction should be live in a few weeks or so. As far as price I do have to let it run at this point. I mean I "think" it should get to somewhere in the teens?? Maybe 12-14k range?? Not really sure but that is what I am "hoping" to see. If it does fall short I do bring these to sell, so someone could catch a really good deal! Good luck if you bid
@@jessepatrick3795 it is my vehicle to sell, however I have committed to the Bring a Trailer website to sell it. We suspect it does somewhere in the teens. I will share the link for you to bid when it goes live. Thanks!
I think you really need to fix the air condition on these cars you sell classic cars because people come and they might need to drive them somewhere and it's Florida and it's really hot and muggy and no air conditioner I think I would fix the AC and charging port of course and put it on top of your surprise but should get the AC fixed always very important in cars nowadays.
compvett@aol.com. However since all my classics are sold through Bring a Trailer, they are not posted on my site. The newer cars which are my bread and butter are all on there. Thanks!
I always find it a bit suspicious when a dealer "has the body filler panels in the trunk" but doesn't bother to install them. Seems fishy. If there isn't anything fishy there, then install it! It will show better, sell sooner, and most likely for a better price, Dealers already know that, thus, my distrust.
No need for distrust. As you can see I point out every little flaw. I ordered this ONE filler weeks ago. I got the car completely ready, with a 4 stage paint correction. Last thing I want to do at this point is tie it up in the body shop for them to get overspray all over it. Wasn't sure when the filler was coming, so I couldn't wait around. At this point it really isn't a big deal, like at all. It is there for the next owner to tackle. Another reason for you or anyone to have plenty of trust is, I have run near FORTY cars on Bring a Trailer already with 6 more that I am currently getting ready. Out of those near forty cars, EVERYONE has been 100% and extremely satisfied with their purchase. I do understand your position, "why didn't you just install it"...Well, trying to get a dozen cars ready at a time sometime parts don't come in at that most opportune time. IF you are interested, good luck bidding Allen!
No I don't think so. I just looked again. Could be the lighting or angle. When the car goes live I will have about 300 detailed pics. Hopefully you will get an accurate idea of what we have here. Thanks!
The seller wanted to give THIS car to his 16 yr old? Really?? OMG. I love these old floaters but if my daddy had been stupid enough to give it to me at 16 it would have become junkyard meat in no time flat. Glad that plan didn't work out so this gorgeous beast could survive to find a better home.

That's an absolutely stunning car, I loved those 74-76 Electras, it makes me think of watching LMAD, but those are just gun boats on wheels!!!
But they ride so AMAZING!!!

We had a 73' Rivvy sit on the used lot for well over a year.Unwanted boattail.
