Mannnn!!! my favourite stationery reviewers are back. Missed yall. Also, I absolutely love this pen and i have one with the 'Fine' nib ( the pretty pastel pink), just feels so smooth and i adore this thing. The build is very sturdy , very well built and though, just like yall said, it does run out quite quickly, what moderate time it does last, its just marvellous.
Thank you!! Always happy to add to the stationery geekery quotient on TH-cam. We've been very curious about the fine nib so glad to hear that one is just as good. We expected that one to have less of an ink-thirst, but guessing this is just a matter of the design of the reservoir to keep it smooth flowing and the ink itself. Good to know. We are going at a slightly slower pace, but more episodes are coming. Thanks for the encouragement!
lamy safari and this one supposed to b on similar price tag but lamy is expensive .. i just bought this one with converter and also the platinum preppy today .. do u guys know any waterproof inks for fountain pen ..because i orderd the platinum carbon ink ..and its kind of expensive.. also pilot kakuno can b cleaned fully
Thank you for adding this Junaid. You are right, the Pilot inks are fairly water resistant but not strictly water proof. We haven't tried the Iroshizuku inks yet. It's on our list.
@bonjovi1354 Yes, Lamy is definitely in a higher price bracket. The Platimum Preppy looks very interesting. One more for us to try at some point. Waterproof inks for fountains pens is a large topic but will cover it a little here. As Junaid mentions in another comment, Pilot inks are somewhat water resistant, but not fully water proof. i.e They will not wash off completely but they will smear with water. The problem is that pigment inks like Sumi can be water proof but the particle size would completely clog up fountain pens so you can't really use them. (We went over some of these differences in our Story of Inks round-up episode - th-cam.com/video/US2JxOMeD7E/w-d-xo.html ) From what I know there are two basic types of water proof inks for fountain pens. The more modern version is Noodlers Bulletproof ink. These inks have a special chemical makeup which binds the dye to the cellulose of the paper, making them water proof. The most ancient version is any ink that is iron gall based. These are also pigment based which means you have to clean out your fountain pen regularly to avoid clogging. Also, iron gall inks have an acid base so it is not recommended to keep it in the pen for extended periods unused. It will cause damage. Modern iron gall inks are used for legal and archival use. Look for "Document Ink" or "Registrars Ink". These are basically iron gall based inks (there are multiple brands) and should work well with all the above mentioned warnings. Thanks for dropping by!
such a fun concept for a video, haha. enjoyed watching it 😄
Glad you liked it! We certainly have a lot of fun shooting these, so it's good that it's not just us :D

As far as I know pilot ink is also pretty water-resistant. Not the iroshizuku lineup but the normal ones.
