- This new WR120 model from Midland is in my opinion as close to perfection you can get with the 120 design. Featured in the video are the new sirens, new alert LED indicator behaviors, alert history menu, and channel select confirmation double beep. Enjoy!

Midland finally updated the WR120!!!!
Kinda like the higher pitched tones from the old WR120s, but this is a massive upgrade from a guy who once hated the old WR-120s. Nice job Midland, hope I can get one of these soon.

This is awesome! I’ll admit, I prefer the older sirens, but this one’s key tones sound much better. And the new functions are what the WR120 always needed. I think I’ll be recommending this radio to people now!

This is a nice update on the 120. I notice there is no lag when it's decoding the alert on the screen.
Question I have the wr120ez and it has a delay between the tone and the siren. Dose tbe DSP have no delay when it comes to the siren?
I really like this upgrade for the most part!! The only thing though that I dislike is the slower alert tone.

I purchased a DSP yesterday (off the shelf from the local Ace Hardware) for an acquaintance getting ready for college. It was quiet hours in their apartment so I couldn't test the siren, but other than that, the only notable difference to me was that I couldn't find a way to turn the button beeps off (which definitely irritated the other people in the room xD). Nice that they added a setting for alert volume and allowed the LED indicators to stack. The people who dislike the pitch of the new beeps and alerts probably won't notice as much of a difference in-person as they think.
LightningRunner72: My 2023 wr120 has static issues when plugged in with the new generation power cord. Did that get fixed for this new one?

The siren test function isn't the TH-cam first, the showcase of the different sirens is.
The way the lights stay on based on the alert issued is really nice. Helps you know what all has been issued.
Something I can't understand is why they changed the button beeps and the siren tone, it sounds worse than the OGs and the EZs

I never was a fan of the Og and Ez WR120 and the siren on this one especially the warning siren is a joke and the button beeps sound like a WR100 kind of now I do like the fact you can adjust the warning volume though
I had to set one up for someone yesterday without knowing that there was a new model, and barely noticed the difference on the button beeps (bear in mind that my personal WR120 is an EZ). I couldn't test the siren since I was in an apartment building at 11:00pm, but as long as it works, it doesn't really matter.
Anyone else notice the different scroll, such as the one for tornado watch?

No, it's WR120DSP now.
I like the new features and behaivors of the WR-120DSP but I prefer the siren tones from the WR-120/120EZ.
Why does the advisory tone sound like It wasn't changed.
I wish they kept the alarms the same because changing the alarm rates and pitches weren't necessary.
One thing I like about it is the alert volume!
I might get a DSP in the future because I want to stick with my WR-120EZs for now.

I got one of these to mess with, and holy CLUNK… it is literally so slow to navigate the menus on and adjust settings with. Setting the time takes way longer than it should.

There is no way to distinguish as at the time of this video being posted they use the same boxes. I bought mine directly from Midland themselves. I'd give it a half year to a year before local stores start to have them.

Midland Website or Amazon started selling it too if you check the description and see adjustable siren volume then that's a DSP and usually sold by midland radio.

official model, they replaced the older 120 with that one.
is the menu lag still existent or gone/reduced
Midland Fixed the menu lag, so you can now scroll through the options alot more faster.
