I watched Dr. Hill testify. She didn't let Republican clowns waste her time, she went right to the point and warned us about Putin and his influence on several high-ranking members of the administration at the time, chiefly Donald. You've found a historian who thinks that the crisis was forced onto Russia. There are other people who are also qualified and intelligent, and they profoundly disagree (as reflected by governments). Do you think that in ten years history books will say 'Russia invaded Ukraine, and this was justified by the behaviour of the west'? I'll see but I don't think they will. I feel a connection with Fiona Hill. I'm also from a working class family in county Durham and I also studied Russian at university. I'm reading her book Nothing for You Here at the moment. It's a great read with some terrifying insights into the working of Donald Trump's mind.

She has already written what's widely considered in the US to be the most comprehensive book on Putin. The title is "Mr. Putin: Operative in the Kremlin" and is incredibly insightful, especially now. Although, it is a history book. So it does include a lot of names and dates, but overall she does wonderful at laying out a narrative that is easy to understand regardless. It's a great read and one I'd recommend for anyone that found this short clip or her testimony compelling.

During the hearings, s I was very pleased to see an fellow Geordie doing so well. We're both from Newcastle on Tyne in the North East of England. So smart and well informed with the classic "tell it like it is" attitude that never leaves us.

In the hearings, the transcript shows she states she is from "the north east of England in the UK" - and more specifically, Bishop Auckland. Not Newcastle Upon Tyne.

I watched her testimony during the impeachment proceedings...she demonstrated her professionalism and courage and took some hard hits from Trump and psychophantsfor the truths she told.

She has already written what's widely considered in the US to be the most comprehensive book on Putin. The title is "Mr. Putin: Operative in the Kremlin" and is incredibly insightful, especially now.
Although, it is a history book. So it does include a lot of names and dates, but overall she does wonderful at laying out a narrative that is easy to understand regardless. It's a great read and one I'd recommend for anyone that found this short clip or her testimony compelling.

Fiona Hill is the epitome of the type of person we need literally watching out for our country. Her expertise, her decency rises above & beyond whatever Admin is/was in office. She spent those years looking out for Our Country. All this reinforces even more why her earlier testimony was so important & how disgracefully she (and others who testified) were treated. Their jobs, their compassion was on behalf of the USA, *_not_* whomever was in the White House.
Am so very grateful Dr. Hill is a positive part of Our Country. Bless her.

During the hearings, s I was very pleased to see an fellow Geordie doing so well. We're both from Newcastle on Tyne in the North East of England. So smart and well informed with the classic "tell it like it is" attitude that never leaves us.
She's from Bishop Auckland in the North East, not Newcastle upon Tyne (Over 30 miles away, so a lot closer to Durham City & Stockton Upon Tees geographically). Those of us born in County Durham shouldn't be referred to as Geordies either - google it :).
@@sophier5322 when she was asked where she was from in the hearings, she said Newcastle, as she did in another interview I saw.
@Debbie de Zwaan If you read her book or just simply Google her name, every single article and interview with her refers to her upbringing in Bishop Auckland, attending Bishop Barrington school, her father was a coal miner from the area and her mother was a midwife who still lives in Bishop Auckland - the same place she raised Fiona throughout her entire childhood until Fiona left to go to University at St. Andrews. In the hearings, the transcript shows she states she is from "the north east of England in the UK" - and more specifically, Bishop Auckland. Not Newcastle Upon Tyne.
