      Thanks for watching! It takes a few trial runs in the beginning. Just make sure you are using the correct EQMod cable, which is not the same as most common EQMOD cable for Sky-Watcher EQ-6R Pro mounts. It's different as given in description. Next, you need correct settings on both AZ-GTi and ASIAIR. Hope this helps. Clear Skies!

    Hello: Thanks for your channel and sharing your knowledge. I'm going to be doing the Eclipse next month and in travelling need a light weigh go-to system. I'll be using the AT-GTi with a Canon 6D and 300 2.8L & Sony Qx-1 with the 12-24/2.8 zoom.
    This article was the secret ingredient to getting my ASI Air Pro working. I recently bought a Seestar for 'insurance'. Will be my 7th and probably final eclipse. Just to note I live north of Toronto. No doubt you will be watching the big event. Clear skies

    Thank you for this helpful tutorial. After failing a couple of times (and unnecessarily stretching my patience due to a stupid typing mistake) I succeeded at last coupling the AZ-GTi to my new Asiair Mini. The current ASIAir Android App allows specifically selecting Skywatcher AZ-GTi/Synscan as the mount.

    Congratulations for all your videos, are wonderful. I have a question. Is it possible to use ASIAIR with the AZGTI as altazimutal mount and just a basic planetary camera like ASI224MC in order to do EAA in the most simple way?

    Good video - thank you. Currently I use the eqdir cable but I’m wanting to move to a wireless connection from my az-gti to my Asiair mini. I use the Asiair in station mode so I can use it through my home Wi-Fi. Is it possible to use the Asiair in station mode and have the az-gti connect to it wirelessly? Further question if yes! Is it better to connect the az-gti station mode settings to the home Wi-Fi or the Asiair wifi for such a configuration? Is it possible to help me here? Many thanks!

    • @AstroCrescentDIY
      @AstroCrescentDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. I'm glad that the video is helpful. I have not tested two station modes together. That's why I preferred to use the EQMod cable from AZ-GTi mount to the ASIAIR Mini. This will allow the ASIAIR to run in Station Mode.
      Just a reminder that the EQ Mod cable for AZ-GTi is different that the one for EQ3, EQ5 and EQ6 or their Pro models due to pin configuration. Cheers!

      @@AstroCrescentDIY understood - thanks. I have the cable route working fine. With my dslr I’m already using all 4 usb ports on the ASIAIR, so could do with freeing one up, if I want to add an EAF in future. (Currently have dslr, mount, guide cam and memory stick using the slots).

      A cooled Astro camera will give you 2 extra USB ports. An option to consider.

      If you have the EQMOD cable connected do you need to do anything with your previous configuration of ASIAIR and Synscan to enable it to work, or can you just plug in the EQMOD cable and you are good?

    Hello, I’ve followed all the steps but I seem to be encountering a problem. When I change the wifi settings, and I’ve tried this three times following the instructions, it shows me a blank screen with a button in the middle saying “READ SETTINGS”. When you click the button nothing happens. When I tried to then connect the ASIAIR to the gti, it searches for a while before saying that I have to make sure my mount is connected or that I use a cable. Is there anything I can do about this or do I need to purchase the cable too? Also what is the threading for the AZ-GTI counterweight bar. I have one for a lighter setup but would like to get a longer one. Is it M10 or M12?

    • @AstroCrescentDIY
      @AstroCrescentDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, thanks for watching the video.
      1. The screen on SynScan that says 'Read Settings' after configuring the Station Mode is normal. Just ignore it and connect the WiFi of your phone or tablet to ASIAIR WiFi. Then launch the ASIAIR App. At this point, you need to select the EQMod mount from within the WiFi symbol and not from the first main interface of ASIAIR. The main interface of the ASIAIR will show the mount that was previously connected. Also, set the correct Port Number (as set in the SynScan App) and Baud Rate (as shown in video) along with Port Type as UDP.
      2. No, you don't need to buy the EQMOD cable if you are connecting through the SynScan App. But if you decide to buy one, make sure it s specifically for AZ-GTi mount. The EQMOD cable for Sky-Watcher EQ5, EQ6, etc. is different. In this case, you will not need the SynScan App. I'll cover that in an upcoming video.
      3. The thread size for AZ-GTi counterweight bar is 12mm (And not 1/2 Inch). I myself purchased a 3 ft long 12mm threaded bar and then cut it to about 13" length.
      Hope all this info helps. CS!

      @@AstroCrescentDIY okay I will try again but I think something is wrong with my GTI since it’s still not connecting. Hopefully it works this time. If it doesn’t, I’ll get the cable and make sure it’s the right one. And great. I was looking for one that was between 30-50cm since mine is only around 20 and couldn’t find one. Cutting it in half will definitely make that easier
