Since I never had a chance to watch the real Master and his band in action, I am going to find you guys and watch your show. I could close my eyes and see Mr. Zappa himself. Awesome work, guys.
1st show of the East Coast set of dates opening for King Crimson. With only a handful of practices/shows on the West Coast shortly beforehand we can see and hear The Zappa Band is playing in a most high ambient domain.
Saw them at the Baked Potato in LA, Back in 2021. SOOOOoooo good. Soooo tight. I sure hope somebody is recording these shows for some kind of official release.
This band is better than the Zappa plays Zappa band. Dweezil rips and I love him and I love that he does ZPZ. ZPZ is so white washed though it just doesn't sound right. When Da' Dweez first started ZPZ it was awesome, really fucking rad. The last show I saw was just so focused on playing the studio version of a song there were little or no live FZ treats in there . This band rips and has the live show extras
I used to see Ike play with Project/Object (fantastic Zappa cover band) in the Village (NYC) numerous times at the Lions Dens, (they did the complete Joe’s Garage one evening which was incredible) however not sure what he is up to these days. Such an amazing talent.
Mike Keneally, Scott Thunes, Ray White, Jamie Kime, Robert Martin, and Joe Travers on drums. Just bought tickets for Tarrytown in June. Really looking forward to this show. I think it's been 3 years since I've seen Dweezil. Need me a Zappa fix!

Great selection of tunes, for me is the best line up post Zappa. I like all of them, but this have something special.

The impression I got the last time I saw ZPZ was that it was more like a recital than a rock show.

They did quite a lot for having so little percussion! "Alien Orifice" was tight! (So to speak...)
The part after the 3/4 after-solo melody but before the 5/16-2/4 sixteenth-note run sounded pretty rickety...
