    I had a lot of hair loss in my crown for YEARS, literally. At first it bothered me, I just wore a lot of wigs and I was extremely self conscious. I prayed about it and over time Iet it go. I accepted the fact that I may have CCA alopecia at a young age (I was 27, I'm 41 now) I started wearing my hair in the styles that look best on me, slick-natural hair styles, or braids done by me, I let go of the wig and weaves and just maintained it but never obsessed over it like I used to. Over time, I realized my hair grew back. Its still never will be extremely thick in that area but I just try not to let it get to me. Average folks can not tell I ever had hair issues and it looks thick and full to them. I have never had a problem with stressing over my hair now. I let go and give it to the Lord. If my hair is ever thin I may run to a weave or wig, but for now no.
    Your hair is beautiful, I know you may think otherwise and you say we can't see on camera, but even in the pictures. I think we should all appreciate this, because my situation was so bad it was all bald on the top. I was so embarassed. So please please consider praying and just learn different styles and not stress much about it and it will indeed grow.

      Thanks so much for sharing this. I was 28 when I was diagnosed with CCC alopecia, and now 29. I wear wigs most of the time and don't have the confidence to wear my own hair. Giving it to the Lord as well, and I no longer stress over it but would like to find a way to go without wigs at least sometimes and still look professional.

    I had a scalp biopsy done last month in December due to hair loss in my crown and thinning in certain areas for years. I had my hormones ferritin, etc. checked and everything came back normal. When I received the results from my scalp biopsy it only showed inflammation on the scalp. You will feel discomfort after the biopsy once the medication wears off for the first 1 to 3 days. For myself, my scalp felt sore and itchy for 3 weeks in the area of the biopsy. The area didn't hurt those 3 weeks just sore. I had stitches on my scalp for 2 weeks and then removed after those 2 weeks. You will have to keep the area clean and keep vaseline on the area of the biopsy. You can still wash your hair just make sure you are gentle in the area of the biopsy. My doctor told me that hair would grow around the scar where the biopsy was done because I had concerns about the area leaving a bald spot. Even with the stitches on your scalp from the biopsy, I don't think no one will be able to see them. So, you will be fine with wearing your hair out in public.

    Hard water and not clarifying my hair at least once a month was my issue. Calcium buildup is a nightmare, preventing moisture from penetrating so my hair felt extremely dry even though I was moisturizing. Turns out, that was my issue. My hair has so much buildup, my strands were suffocating and dying. Now I use a clarifying shampoo followed by a moisturizing shampoo, once a month and purified water. I only use grease to seal, but not on my scalp, back to old-school. Who knew?? My hair and scalp loves me for it. I'm rooting for you Queen. Take care of self first❤🙏🏾

    Post Menopausal here. Frankly my hair looks more like YOURS then any of the young Sisters doing TH-cam Natural Hair tutorials now. I'm wondering if WE, in fact, ARE THE NORM in the 4C community rather then them. Don't get it twisted, God bless them and I enjoy their videos & will continue to watch them but I think those of us having these problems (for whatever the reasons) need to make a presence on TH-cam too.

    Oh girl, I feel for you…I understand. I’ve been allergic to things all my life. Things I had to stay away from as a child, now I don’t have a problem with. Things that never bothered me before now do. I had early menopause at 40, actually it was more like 39. Because for a year they said the test showed that I wasn’t, even though the symptoms pointed to it. When I went back back a year later cause the symptoms were driving me crazy…the doctor says oh, you’re well into your menopause. After that is when I started noticing the hair at both temples was getting thinner, I as you said thank God for shrinkage and frizz. Then I find out in my 50s I have Lupus and loosing more hair and now the inflammation is in my scalp so I lost about a quarter size amount of hair. The dermatologist biopsy it the just to confirm that it was the lupus, then says there is nothing you can do. I stop going to her…she made me feel so uncomfortable, she acted like she didn’t want to touch my scalp, and was so condescending with her response. I have a new one and her bedside manner is sooo much better and giving me suggestions of things to try for my skin and hair. She suggested trying Rogaine and took pics of my scalp to determine if it works when I go back. I know you’ve been dealing with this for years, I remember your earlier videos. I pray that you get a clear diagnosis and or solution to help you. Love seeing you again.

    I cannot put into words how this video made me feel. 10 years ago, my scalp started to die off. I had sheets of skin peeling off my head, taking all attached hair with it. My scalped itched in a way I never experienced before. With every wash, i lost more hair, until it all came out. I lived in Iowa at the time and my only option was a white male dermatologist. He told me if the cream he prescribed didn't resolve the issue by the 3rd appointment, he would do a scalp biopsy. Not knowing what that was, I did not return for the 3rd visit. I went to church the following Sunday and opened up to my adult Sunday school class. One of the ladies has a daughter that is a cosmetologist and dermatologist. I called her the next day, and cried halfway thru the call, if only because someone understood what it meant to have lost my hair. She sent me some supplements that I took religiously. Ten years later, my hair has been restored, better than before. Keep the faith, sis. You will find the answer

    I feel your pain I just went and had a biopsy done by my dermatologist and she diagnosed me with CCCA alopecia my hair was thinning in the crown area. I got two steroid shots, steroid ointment, and nothing helped my hair I decided to go to a stylist to see if she could possibly grow my hair back, she asked who told me I had alopecia and I mentioned my dermatologist she said just by looking at the pattern of your hair loss and thinning. You have a hormonal imbalance not alopecia need to say my diet was poor and I had been eating a lot of sugar I have since been working on a healthier diet also taking evening PEMINROSE oil, turmeric for the inflammation and zinc. She washed my hair with organic products and also did a steam treatment on my hair. Needless to say that was three weeks agoand my hair has come back to life less shedding, and I could see my scalp finally starting to filling in with small pieces of hair. I will never go back to the dermatologist, nor will I continue taking steroid injections.

    U might want to consider taking the pumpkin seed oil orally/by mouth also: I take 2 capsules every night before bed (“Swanson” brand - available on Amazon - is quite good). Honestly, the pattern of hair loss you exhibit looks exactly like what my doctors explained as the shedding associated with menopause and perimenopause. And I totally understand your hesitancy to see a dermatologist after having seen multiple other physicians and specialists over the years: I was the same way because rumor has it that they tend to focus on “black women’s hair practices” (and I have never had braids, cornrows, wigs, etc in my whole life; plus have never even had my hair pulled back in any way - pony tail or whatever - since middle school, lol; moreover, it’s been well over 10 years since I’ve had a relaxer). Anyway, I hope u get answers and feel better over time. My own experience is that I’ve never regained the thickness I used to have in my younger adult years; however, my hair continues to grow - it’s longer than bra-strap length - and I’ve learned to camouflage the thin areas (much like you’re already doing) such that I don’t stress too much about how it looks. My best to you!

      Thanks for this post! I actually purchased the pumpkin seed oil pills over a year ago but created poorly to them likely because they were made in a facility that processes wheat and dairy smh... I'm looking to try a liquid form or gummies and also continue eating them all while using the oil topically too. Lately I haven't even found pumpkin seeds that aren't potentially cross contaminated smh. I only have a little left from trader joes.. I even called them lol and they were like there waiting on a new crop to grow 😮‍💨

    Hang in there sis. I had terrible shoulder pain for 9 months and thought I was dying. Only to find 3 other friends having the same, scoured the internet and its frozen shoulder common in perimenopause. My mother had a hysterectomy so she didn’t experience peri and menopause. There’s so much we don’t know. I’m following OB docs and women on insta talking about peri symptoms so I know it’s that. Some women have hair loss with peri menopause. Perhaps talk to your OB. Also worst case autoimmune perhaps. Praying for you.

    Regarding the “allergic reaction” to conditioner - omg, I feels like we’re twins! Yes - I too was sneezing like crazy in the shower and wondering when on earth did this start when I was using random conditioners for so many years with no “allergic” effect. Come to find out, I’ve developed a sensitivity to sodium hydroxide: specifically, the formulations of sodium hydroxide that are put in many hair conditioners. I’ve had great luck sticking to low-ph (acidic) shampoos and conditioners. Consider trying “Acure” brand shampoo “ultra hydrating” formula in the yellow container - available at Whole Foods; couple with “Pattern” brand (Tracee Ellis Ross) *Medium Conditioner*. I get no sneezing fits with these, and your hair will feel fabulous. I use the Pattern leave-in too. I’m cheering you on, girl: Things are gonna get better!

    When my hair started literally falling out at the roots leaving me with sporadic bald patches completely out of nowhere I had a nagging suspicion that it had something to do with my Thyroid and after doing some research online on the symptoms I was experiencing I went to my dr. and had my levels checked with a blood test and I was right! I was diagnosed with Thyroid Graves Disease and now, two years later my hair has completely grown back and my thyroid hormone levels are back to normal.

    I wish I saw your video before. I had a scalp biopsy done yesterday. There is this one patch in my head on my left side that just itches. I’ve dealt with this for years now so I’m hoping for some type of results. It took me switching providers for me to even consider this procedure as an option.

    I felt the same way. going to doctors always turns out a disappointment. I realized a long time ago most doctors don't want to treat the problem they only want to mask the problem. they want to just .....medicate you which in turn brings more problems in your life. I realized I was paying doctors to make me feel worse!
    but now G-d taught me the importance of bloodwork. you don't have to take the medications they give you(personally I think it's better if you don't) but you have to do testing to know where you are. I got tested and found out my cortisol was high which caused weight gain and inflammations and all these issues I was having.
    before you do any type of testing do the bare minimum. make sure you're eating right, make sure you are sleeping, drinking enough water, exercising/walking, meditating, etc. because, y'all, you don't need to pay doctors to tell you to get enough sleep to fix the problem. so make sure you do the bare minimum.
    FIY: your body functions as a WHOLE. if you are anemic you cannot just increase your iron levels. It's not that simple. there is something that's causing anemia. you have to look at Bioavailability, hormonal imbalance, vitamins and mineral deficiency. Your Body Functions As A Whole.

    First, let me say you look amazing! I hope you stay strong as you continue to navigate this admittedly long season of health issues. YES to pumpkin seed oil! I literally just started using this oil and thought to myself, I have found a superior oil! Organic pumpkin seed oil and organic castor oil are, in my opinion, phenomenal for us kinky textured hair girlies. I hope others take your experience and try it for themselves. God bless you and your beautiful family!

    Before you said it i was just thinking about how itchy, and painful my scalp gets at times. So i tried something different and did not place ANY product in my hair after washing/deep conditioning. Only water for 3 days and my scalp was fine. As soon as i put the leave in conditioner my scalp started itching and hurting.

    I have dealt with something similar. I also did a scalp biopsy about 4 years ago and found out that I have androgenetic alopecia. It comes and goes with stress. Most of my hair loss is in the back when I lose it. Last year, I developed issues with inflammation in my body, stomach issues, fatigue and constant sinus issues. I've seen dermatologist, ENT, rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, neurologists, and hematologist over the last year. I'm talking constant emergency room visits, loss of hair and weight. I had doctors appointments every week from July to December. I found a number of small issues but nothing for the big issues until I started having constant panic attacks. So what I found out is that I have anxiety. My anxiety triggers my stomach issues and the stomach issues triggers the anxiety. I'm in a constant loop.

    I empathize and hope you can get answers. The pumpkin seed oil might be addressing magnesium deficiency issues that you may have. I am low in mag and eat pumpkin seeds from Whole Foods. Also, I just started adding ReMag and Remyte to my water, and that's helping. I am dealing with the beginning of perimenopause with a slew of other issues. I had 4 HG pregnancies and ended up being diagnosed with Lone AFib, a side effect of the Ondansetron they prescribed. I've been battling that for eight years (perimenopause is making palpitations worse), and they just want to put me on meds. I have had to advocate for myself, and I'm worn out. I think we are all going through it and need to support each other. Praying for answers for you.

    • @NaturalMe4C
      @NaturalMe4C  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes prayers up!! The palpitations are so insane with this perimenopause that it's scary smh. I was at whole foods today looking for pumpkin seeds, and they're both made in a facility that processes wheat and milk.... usually, that means allergic reaction or pain flare up for me smh. I need trader joes to get their next shipment in... Oh yeah, I started taking Liquid magnesium in the fall to see if it would help out... it's the trace minerals brand, but I want to try magnesium glycinate as well...

    • @NaturallyLluvme
      @NaturallyLluvme 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NaturalMe4C I used to buy the ones at TJ's, but they are roasted. If you can find raw pumpkin seeds, that would be best. When I compared raw and processed, the raw provides 40% of mag vs. 10% of the processed/salted. You could also buy an organic squash and dry the seeds (air or dehydrator). I ordered the remag and remyte directly from the company's website. I add a half teaspoon of each to 33 ozs of smart water. It is the only mag that works. All the other ones seem to have something or another in them that triggers palpitations. I was getting ready to schedule an ablation when I read about ReMag in a heart forum; it's pricey but lasts a long time. Palpitations are about 75% improved, especially days before my cycle and ovulation (or ovulation's second cousin lol--no idea if ovulation is still happening). I must say that I admire your strength. Not knowing is hard, and I appreciate your sharing with us. I spend a lot of time throwing big pity parties, and videos like yours give me courage.

If you're experiencing new allergies or having new reactions to things that you didn't react to before, you should definitely try an allergy clinic or specialist in allergies in addition to the dermatologist. I really hope you get answers soon and thank you for being brave and strong enough to share your experiences, it will definitely help someone else.

    💥Hello, I had a biopsy done and was diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia. My dermatologist said this type of alopecia is not common. It comes from inflammation in the body. If the inflammation is not treated it will spread and you will lose all your hair.
    I started losing my hair in 2015. It started with two small spots, and now I have two large spots one in the top and the other in the crown area.
    I pray you do not have Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia. I am praying for both of us 🙏

I’m so bummed because I cut all my hair off to start anew and it’s SO obvious how much hair I’ve lost. I’m not sure if it’s a mineral deficiency or stress (because I work at the P.O.!!) but I’m about ready to give up😩 I’ve tried oils/ scalp massages/ supplements and nothings working so it may very well be stress 🙁 Hang in there beautiful! My was coming out in my crown, and I started using MSM in spring water. I use 2 scoop of MSM. THE SCOOP is in the package of MSM . It’s works, my hair is back. I took picture of my balding in my crown, with in one month I can see the difference. In 3 months my hair is back. And I have pictures. MSM works. I spray it on my scalp every day the firsts two weeks. After that, every 3 days in the week. It’s works. I got it after TH-cam, I can’t remember the TH-camr name, but she black with a with a small natural. And her hair came back. I order my msm from Amazon. My hair is back, now I just spray my scalp 2 times a week. Please try this , it. Really works. ❤

      What a cool idea! I used to love using MSM supplements for my joint pain. I've shared on here that I used it for a long time, but i had to stop eventually because it was causing heart palpitations 😔. Maybe using it topically is an option for me though.
