So many memories unlocked omfg Horrid Henry was one of my favourite shows ever and then there’s shows I’d rather forget.. almost naked animals. It was Canadian but it was on uk kids tv =‘)
Nina and the neurons was a big part of my childhood, watched it a lot with my little cousins. I loved deadly 60 though, still love Steve Backshalls tv shows
OMG MY FRIENDS BROUGHT THIS BACK UP RECENTLY. I said I needed something to draw (I don't draw good I was just bored) AND THEY SUGGESTED NINA AND THE NEURONS. MY CHILDHOOD.
fun fact about the wiggles. during the height of their popularity in the 90s, they would travel in 2 separate planes in case one crashed so the other half could still continue touring
I never knew that about the Wiggles but as a side note, how depressing would be if one of the original Wiggles were to die. They are one of the greatest forms of children entertainment and loved by countless children growing up in Australia and all over the world, myself included. It would be gutting as a parent to have to break the news to your children that absolutely love the wiggles that one of the Wiggles has died. Like when Greg nearly died when he had a heart attack on stage at an adults concert a few years ago. If he hadn't survived, Australia would have shaken by the loss of an absolute legend and life just wouldn't be the same without him.
i grew up with the British clifford the big red dog dub and puppy days on premiere that's now lost media but today i always think of john Ritter the voice of clifford thank you George for my nostalgia
Watching this video with Basil Brush just unlocked a core memory about a nightmare I had as a kid... According to the dream my 10 year old mind could come up with, Basil Brush was the mastermind behind 9/11 and he ordered the planes to crash into the twin towers. At the end of the nightmare I remember asking him why he did it, what horrific scheme did he create that required the deaths of that many innocent people... his response was chilling... "Ha ha ha ha ha... boom boom." That made me wake up immediately as a cold sweat covered my body.
When I look back on what scared me as a kid, I'm usually like "that was pathetic how did it scare me" but Grizzly Tales is completely fair, that shit is still creepy even now.
As a 2010s kid, I'm quite sad some of my childhood classics weren't here. Sooty, Sweep and Sue- I literally cried for about a week when this got discontinued. Numberblocks- Absolutely classic Alphablocks- same thing Horrible Histories And probably more that I can't remember
You're a 2010s kid, that's the issue. The video was about early to mid 2000s nostalgia. There were a couple shows here that were before my time! But yeah for example, my 17½ year old sibling was the right age for alphablocks and loved it, but I was too old for it (I go 20 this month)
George and I literally have the same childhood, Big Cook, Balamory, Fifi, Horrid Henry, Tweenies, Mister Maker, Chuggington, (with Thomas) but not all, were literal bangers for its time.
10:01 Listen here mate, Tractor Tom was an absolute banger. The episode where the chickens were attacked by an anonymous monster I shat myself and I can tell you, it’s better than 90% of horror films today.
As a kid Grizzly tales was one of my favorite shows. It was genuinely scary, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the things that made me like and appreciate horror growing up. I remember an episode about a ghost grandma scaring the absolute hell out of me for weeks.
Dick and Dom in Da bungalow, Raven, Trapped, M.I.High, The Sarah Jane Adventures, The Sparticle Mystery, Bamzooki. All absolute bangers that I miss dearly. Wolfblood was absolutely sick and I had the fattest crush on Steve Backshall in Deadly 60. That man is just magnificent, and he knows all about wild animals. Damn, this slapped hard.
I know this is a year old but I just need to obsess over MI High for a min lol. I watched it when it was still being released, but I also saw most of the episodes that came out when I was too young on TH-cam when I was like 10-12, and it was so good to see all of it. S tier show. I was gutted when it ended. If they brought it back now I'd watch in a heartbeat and I'm 20 now lol
Grizzly tales for gruesome kids was probably that one kids TV show that I would love to go back to and watch more episodes, when they come out. I remember back in 2010 when I was only like 5-6 and watching it, some how I was never creeped out by the episodes, wether I’m built different or I’m a psychopath, which might be true. I feel like GTFGK was a show that wasn’t brought to light as much as it should of been. It had really good stories in it. I know a lot of newer kids shows that also aren’t really brought to light like skatoony (that how you spell it?) and Puffinrock. I feel kinda sad that tv is dying. Though I guess that’s how me Nan felt when radios were dying. Or should I say “wireless”
Skatoony was so fuckin good :') not quite the same as new episodes but there are compilations of old GTFGK eps on TH-cam, I rewatched them all recently and they still made me feel the same unease they did when I was a kid lol
I met the actor who played Raven (James Mackenzie) and it's still one of my favourite people that I have met. He is so kind and, when I bumped into him in the street, he remembered my name.
As a 2008 kid who grew up with Horrid Henry, I think it’s safe to say that Horrid Henry is a fucking banger. I remember when I went to Centre Parks (London) in 2009 and I saw Horrid Henry on the TV and I thought it was interesting, kids today will NEVER understand how good shows were in 2000 - 2009. 👍
“Kids today will never understand” what do you mean you didn’t exist for eight years of them shows lmao. You can’t remember something from when you were 1.
Grizzly tales is a genuinely iconic show, it scared the shit out of me as a kid and it was entertaining enough for me to watch it all again as a collage student. Even the extremely cheap 2d animation doesn't take away from it's charm.
When it came to British children's shows about tractors, I recall preferring Little Red Tractor over Tractor Tom as a child. Also, I was a BBC kid, due to us only having Freeview for watching stuff on, so I have so many fond memories of the BBC Shows.
As an aussie, SO many of our kids tv shows came direct from the UK so I'm guessing this video boutta ignite some deep nostalgia for us aswell (edit): I was 100% correct lol Also george, The Wiggles were legit celebrities down under, they used to appear in the newspaper having been spotted at clubs and shit like that, and then they went on to do legit live shows for adults at one point. Bloody superstars they were, I don't think they ever had to explain to anyone what their jobs were because everyone already fkn knew them lol
@@Bald_MartinFN Deadly 60 didn't appear on our TV's til I was a bit old for kids shows, my younger siblings watched it a lot though! When I was still watching TV the closest thing we had was the OG, The Crocodile Hunter (RIP) or later on Bindi Irwin had a few shows of her own from memory.
@@tomboz777 round the twist was a weird show now that I look back on it. Like that episode where the boy gave birth to a tree nymphs baby or the cabbage patch child. I have memories of it being a funny show but it was a bit weird
I grew up in Australia and honestly, there's a fair bit of overlap when it comes to British kids TV and Aussie kids TV. About 10 of the programs you showed are pretty nostalgic to me, including The Backyardigans, Koala Brothers, Wiggles, Fifi and the Flowertots, Pingu, Harry and His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs and Mister Maker
i have so many stories to tell about so many of these shows oh my god. one i specifically remember was when i was 7 or 8 and i saw this card on mr maker that i decided to make for my mum on christmas. i was painting the card but then i had to open the kitchen cupboard to get flour (the card needed flour.) and i decided to hold the paintbrush in my mouth to prevent paint from getting on the counter top. i stood up on a wee chair to reach the cabinet and as soon as i opened it the door smacked me in the mouth, stabbing the paintbrush into the back of my throat. i had to go to the hospital, but i absolutely wouldnt tell my mum what i was making because i wanted it to be a surprise

I didn't recognise a lot of these but George's positive reactions to a lot of them had me entertained. Then Tractor Tom came up, and I smiled because I thought that was some top tier shit when I was a kid. My parents got me DvDs of it and I still have my old Tractor Tom toys around somewhere. Then George opened his mouth and my happiness was dashed ;.; Apart from that, this was a great video, George lol
I’m an American but I watched half of these growing up since my parents really liked British TV better than American tv so they would figure out how to get them on vhs for me.
It's interesting because I remember most of these shows but I didn't watch them growing up but I remember my little sister watching them. I think my favourite show as a kid was The Animals of Farthing Wood. I rewatched them again as an adult and honestly, it's held up pretty well. I think most adults can enjoy it.
I don't remember where these shows come from but for me Grandpa in my Pocket and In the Night Garden were bangers. Mister Maker was also amazing and Clangers is an honourable mention.

Petition for George to watch some full grizzly tales for gruesome kids episodes. They’re only like 10 mins long and free on TH-cam so I bet no copyright. Do it!!
I was going to be surprised with the Backyardagins (or however you spell it) because I loved that one simply because one of the characters were named after me. Silly I know, but when your a kid, stupid things make you happy.
Ones I remember (yes I’m British): Fireman Sam (vaguely) Pingu (more vaguely) The rabbit one (vaguely) Animal Mechanicals (shown at 9:41 in the vid, can’t find it anywhere 😢) Mister Maker (ended (I think, but I hope not) long before NFTs were popular) Chuggington (never compared it to Thomas) Fif and the Flowertots (I remember like 5 seconds, not even the name) Horrid Henry (still love it, thanks for letting me know Krazy Karts exists lol)
George, I don’t appreciate this slander of Chuggington. It may have been a similar show to Thomas the tank engine, but it presents a new and refreshing twist from it, and there are a limited number of topics that children enjoy, so it isn’t that surprising that multiple shows were made about the mighty locomotive. For years now, I have had about half an episode of Chuggington that pops into my head from time to time, and only now have I found out what show it was from. So for that George, I am both eternally grateful and extremely ticked off at the instant dismissal you gave to the masterpiece that is Chuggington.
The only reason why Chuggington was made was to cash in on the success of Thomas. The guy who came up with the idea of Chuggington said that he wanted it to be a more updated version of Thomas. He later met up with someone else who used to work for HiT Entertainment (the company that owned Thomas at that time) and they created Chuggington together.
my psyche was altered so negatively after watching a singular episode of grizzy tales for gruesome kids it was genuinely terrifying and whoever allowed it hates kids
The nostalgia I had from watching this was immense the shows I loved as a kid was the tweenies, horrible histories and jungle run those were my top 3 but does anyone here remember the hoobs?? That was a great show

Omgggg Nina and the neurons yes. I remember being so protective of my favourite neuron for some reason. I think it was the purple one

fun fact about the wiggles. during the height of their popularity in the 90s, they would travel in 2 separate planes in case one crashed so the other half could still continue touring
To be fair, the wiggles were and are paramount to functioning society
I never knew that about the Wiggles but as a side note, how depressing would be if one of the original Wiggles were to die. They are one of the greatest forms of children entertainment and loved by countless children growing up in Australia and all over the world, myself included. It would be gutting as a parent to have to break the news to your children that absolutely love the wiggles that one of the Wiggles has died. Like when Greg nearly died when he had a heart attack on stage at an adults concert a few years ago. If he hadn't survived, Australia would have shaken by the loss of an absolute legend and life just wouldn't be the same without him.
the fact George didn't watch bears behaving badly hurt me deeply it shaped my whole childhood

"Ha ha ha ha ha... boom boom."
That made me wake up immediately as a cold sweat covered my body.

WAY TO RUIN IT FOR ME 😭
As a 2010s kid, I'm quite sad some of my childhood classics weren't here.
Sooty, Sweep and Sue- I literally cried for about a week when this got discontinued.
Numberblocks- Absolutely classic
Alphablocks- same thing
Horrible Histories
And probably more that I can't remember
You're a 2010s kid, that's the issue. The video was about early to mid 2000s nostalgia. There were a couple shows here that were before my time! But yeah for example, my 17½ year old sibling was the right age for alphablocks and loved it, but I was too old for it (I go 20 this month)
the bear behaving badly on the greenscreen makes this video a masterpiece. that show cannot be slandered
Masterpiece
George and I literally have the same childhood, Big Cook, Balamory, Fifi, Horrid Henry, Tweenies, Mister Maker, Chuggington, (with Thomas) but not all, were literal bangers for its time.
Tweenies and mister maker were low tier compared to the rest
@@Cat2024MZ how dare you.Mister maker was amazing.
Balamory was next level
I have the same childhood as George as well, Big Cook Little Cook, Horrid Henry, Rubbadubbers, Tweenies, Come Outside, Chuggington.
10:01 Listen here mate, Tractor Tom was an absolute banger. The episode where the chickens were attacked by an anonymous monster I shat myself and I can tell you, it’s better than 90% of horror films today.
If you're talking about the Haywire Hens one, Contender sure did know to build suspense
The show was made by the same people that did Peppa Pig
I remember having nightmares from grizzly tales for gruesome kids where the old man would chase me down this corridor. Still scars me at 19
I thought I was the only one 🤣
As a kid Grizzly tales was one of my favorite shows. It was genuinely scary, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the things that made me like and appreciate horror growing up. I remember an episode about a ghost grandma scaring the absolute hell out of me for weeks.
Good God man I was exactly the same, it was called Grandmas footsteps and good god the ending genuinely disturbed 7yr old me.
Same here!😅
I never found it scary but it was a great show
Wolf Child was fricking terrifying. Like, you could make a horror film outta that story.
If they brought it back now I'd watch in a heartbeat and I'm 20 now lol
thank you to the editor for giving bear behaving badly the respect he deserves
Grizzly tales for gruesome kids was probably that one kids TV show that I would love to go back to and watch more episodes, when they come out. I remember back in 2010 when I was only like 5-6 and watching it, some how I was never creeped out by the episodes, wether I’m built different or I’m a psychopath, which might be true. I feel like GTFGK was a show that wasn’t brought to light as much as it should of been. It had really good stories in it. I know a lot of newer kids shows that also aren’t really brought to light like skatoony (that how you spell it?) and
Puffinrock.
I was never scared by it either but the storied were so good I still loved it
the way he went from 🎵 Thimblesss 🎵 to “i wanna kick all of them” had me creasing 😂😂😂

I met the actor who played Raven (James Mackenzie) and it's still one of my favourite people that I have met. He is so kind and, when I bumped into him in the street, he remembered my name.
I loved Raven! Where and how did you get to meet him?
I got a selfie with him. Money well spent.
Bear behaving badly Was a masterpiece of a show and nobody can tell me otherwise

They're quite big over her in Newzealand aswell! big up the wiggles
CBBC had Round the Twist and that theme song is forever stitched to my brain.
Irish here ✋ we got overlap too
i have so many stories to tell about so many of these shows oh my god. one i specifically remember was when i was 7 or 8 and i saw this card on mr maker that i decided to make for my mum on christmas. i was painting the card but then i had to open the kitchen cupboard to get flour (the card needed flour.) and i decided to hold the paintbrush in my mouth to prevent paint from getting on the counter top. i stood up on a wee chair to reach the cabinet and as soon as i opened it the door smacked me in the mouth, stabbing the paintbrush into the back of my throat. i had to go to the hospital, but i absolutely wouldnt tell my mum what i was making because i wanted it to be a surprise

Horrid Henry (still love it, thanks for letting me know Krazy Karts exists lol)
Animal Mechanicals is on TH-cam! I was watching some episodes a while ago and they should be still there
George, I don’t appreciate this slander of Chuggington.
