    @ 1:15 - "I mean far better than a RTF quad...." which is exactly why from day 1 I've built my own - and also the same reason that I found your channel 😁
    @ 6:20 - The ability to slide components forward and back is a great thoughtful addition to a very beautiful little frame - I love your thought processes regarding the set-up! So many options here....
    @ 14:47 OMG I think that I am in love! What a beautiful clean build! BETTER THAN ANY RTF!
    I'm working on a 3" tadpole build with a 16 x 16 stack (so damn tiny I'm ascared to start soldering) - I wish that I had watched this and used the Mamba stack.....
    Thanks Dutch - BEAUTIFUL BUILD!

      Halloa (again) :D
      a 16x16 stack you say! You are a braver man then me :) (I actually build a quad with a Diatone Whoop board last weekend.. Also TINY solder-pads ;)
      Soooo good luck! Take your time & check things :)
      Thank you very much ofcourse! I'm glad this one and the 5" version fly well but look good they do for SURE :D
      Cheers and happy flying!

    I would be interested in building this as a 4S Analog model using the Mamba stack
    Any suggestions as to what motors would be good for a 4 S build ??
    Thanks for all your excellent videos 😊😊👍✈️

      @DutchRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well actually I do :D th-cam.com/video/YjAtfaq-hYo/w-d-xo.html
      The motors I used on that one are great, and would have gone well with the color-scheme? ;)
      4S though..
      And well.. the Mamba motors I used for this Calypso build are Also available as 4S versions :)
      Cheers man! Thank You for stopping by :)

    How do you compare T-motor F1507 and Diatone Mamba 1408?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very similar but the T-motors now come with a different prop-mount (T-style).. otherwise I would probably have gone with those (multi-stran wiring provides a bit more Power)

  • @GeorgeNorg
    @GeorgeNorg 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I’m building virtually same building minus the frame, do we need to add capacitors or no? Also can you use an xt30 to xt60 adapter?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy George :) I kinda always use a cap. in analogue builds it always cleans up the video but even for digital builds, the power-supply for the stack will also be cleaner with a cap...
      I would TRY not to but use an adapter (added weight) but it is for sure Possible :)

    • @GeorgeNorg
      @GeorgeNorg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DutchRC how did you fit a cap on this tiny build?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GeorgeNorg the frame actually has 'cavities' in the bottom plate to hold one (or two) but mine points out the back.. it is in my case held in place by the antenna mount & a piece of foam (I don't like to have the cap just dangeling about)

    I have prepared a new Excel list for this one. Currently at 232 grams with 1506 motors and 500 mAh 6S battery. It might be an handsome as Jeremy Clarkson has stated..... :-)

      Very nice! That reminds me I have to draw up a camera mount for this flier :) I just got that Insta360 GO 2 in.. should work out well on this copter :) (more then enough Powerrrrr :D)

    How much did shipping to the Netherlands cost?

      Notice how not all parts are from the Rotorama store..
      but.. around €9 from the Czech Republic. not horrible

    I have a question, please. Considering either the 3" Calypso or the Meffie frame for building a "torque happy" quad. That said punch from lower revs, not so much top end.
    I have been considering the RCinpower 1506 motors on 4S, but then I have discovered that the usual 2004'ish motors are not that much heavier. Since they are more like a pancake they lack probably the racing type top end, but they should have more torque earlier. And they are on 12 mm mounting pattern, so most of the 3" frames would accept them.
    Pairing the motors with a nice 722 Mamba 20 mm stack with at least 40A ESC should be the ticket, right?
    I am a bit hesitating to use the T-mount system, a proper 5 mm shaft would be lovely. Need to see which motors exist with such prop mount.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting question! :D I would personally go for a "conventional" motor on a 3" as the pancake motors would obstruct airflow to much (in my mind) with them small props.. You could still get torque over end-speed with the props you pick? (maybe a 4-blade prop for instance)
      I don't have issues with T-mount props but they Do brake (hub) more offten, so I wouldn't really want them on a freestyle quad

    • @donphobos
      @donphobos 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DutchRC Yes, these are good points. I like the most the RCinpower 1506 otherwise, used to have a set of Emax RS1306 on my old Avant X3 EVO. Those have had quite some punch, compared to them the 1506 would gain a lot of low-end umpfh.
      The X3 EVO weighed 173 g without battery, used it with 850 mAh 3S packs. Then AUW was 259 g.
      If i calculate the planned weight of the Calypso with Mamba F722 stack and 1506 motors and a "heavy" Unify Pro HV Race VTX and micro camera I would get roughly 137 g dry weight. Even if my calculation is wrong and it would be closer to 147 g it would be 26 g lighter than my old X3 EVO with much more torque.

  • @KrotowX
    @KrotowX 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    290g AUW - not "street legal" in EU anymore :D Where is flight video by the way?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      with the correct certification you can fly well over 250 grams..
      not sure if I have a dedicated flight-video of this one BUT:

      a "calypso 3" search on that channel finds a couple of video's...
