The cannon transformation has been officialy confirmed by Takara online instructions - also a slot to hide Optimus' red chestpiece in jetfire's back
For those of you that don’t know, the skunk decal on his tail rudder is a reference to the Skunkworks crew of Lockheed who did the design, research and development of the SR71 Blackbird
Come on hasbro now give us a studio series jolt so we can recreate that iconic scene of Optimus primes resurrection

Of almost all transformers, movie Jetfire has to be one of my favorites. I think everything about him is awesome and I wish he had more screen time.

They’ve really stepped up their game with these new studio series. I wish they would make a movie 1 Megatron, in my opinion he was the most badass. Ruthless, serving no master, with a near-endless arsenal of weapons and being able to transform into an interstellar, reinforced death fighter. Fantastic design, with personality and his functionality.

That transformation for his upper body is insane. I'm always amazed as to what Hasbro and Takara come up with for these transformations.

He was a very old decepticon,not an Autobot.He thought this war was meaningless for him and fell in stasis for over a decade(I think).Exacting revenge on the Fallen was his goal from the start and knew that only a prime can defeat a prime.Still,his sacrifice wasn't in vain.

I was so happy seeing EmGo being happy for Jetfire's screen accuracy.. He was always serious and straight forward with his impressions towards every figure, but he was so happy when he transformed Jstfire into robot mode Hahaha.. Wouldn't be the first Transformer I own with an oversized cannon; looking at you Shadow Commander and RID Ultra Magnus.

We finally get a movie transformer to be a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an advanced, long-range, strategic reconnaissance aircraft capable of Mach 3 and an altitude of 85,000 feet and he turns out to be a crotchety, old man... and I loved every word spoken from his mouth.

Pretty sure the gun part formed from Jetfire's upper body was an omitted part, like they forgot to put it in the instructions. Hasbro and even Takara are prone to forgetting extra steps and features in instructions.

Jetfire’s alt mode is the Lockheed Martin SR-71 blackbird which holds the world record for the fastest aircraft and it was used for surveillance and reconnaissance during the Cold War and Vietnam due to advancements in technology like satellites and the jet was eventually deemed obsolete

i couldn't get the arms to tab in on mine so i used my knife to shave off some of the plastic and ended up stabing my self in the thumb but it tabbed in so i call that a win
This looked like a great figure, all the way until you reminded me of the leader class jetfire from the 2009 leader class wave😂😂. Not only were they much bigger, but they actually did things, and made sounds/ phrases. The new leader class figures look like regular old voyager figures, compared to the older figures. However, the figure still looks amazing.
Yeah, and ROTF Jetfire was a clunky mess of a shellformer figure that suffered from his electronics. Not to mention how bad the original combination was
Hard to pose, mostly kibble, ugly alt-form, and bad combination form. Especially awful when compared to the Optimus from the same series.
Well what do you know, a big Transformer that has a weapon storage that's in or underneath a vehicle instead of on top! Awesome figure, but I'm still going to wait for a company, like Wei Jiang, to make a bigger size and more detailed version of him

Actually the skunk is the emblem for Skunkworks, which is where they made and tested the st-71 blackbird it is in California. (In case tho original one didn’t go through)
Since his cane is a landing gear and a landing gear has a pair of wheels on the bottom if he pushes his entire body weight to the cane he can fell forward if there is no actual brakes on the wheels(won't really be a good idea to put a brake in the front gear as once the brake is activated the plane might roll upside down)
Still amazed that the titanium for the SR-71 Blackbird came from the USSR, the same people we used them on
SR71 (a.k.a A-12) fun fact: though retired decades ago, it's actual top speed is still classified and it's listed still makes it the fastest manned aircraft ever made...amazing as it was first built in the 1960s
Jetfire says"what planet am I on" Sam says" earth" then comes the best quote in the movie he says" earth terrible name for a planet you should call it dirt planet". Makes me laugh every time I rewatch the movie

Never hated and loved a figure so much as this guy. His Robot mode was horrible but well detailed and His Jet mode was really cool.
3:22 hey Emgo, I was just looking at TFWiki at the Studio Series pages, and Jetfire’s page says the Optimus piece is to go on the one Jetfire combines with in order to help keep the “cords” attached to his chest. Apparently that piece is swappable. And I’m curious, where did you hear there’s gonna be a DOTM Optimus?
The Michael Bay movies would've been a million times better if it took 20 minutes for the transformers to transform.

Good stuff man. Other reviewers are plain lazy but not you. Appreciate your effort in adjusting the camera so that the transformation doesn’t go off screen. And also the effort to transform the other figures from vehicle to bot mode for comparison. Thumbs up.
