  • How to match your vocal recording to your songs beat if your microphone is recording out of sync with your song.
Recording latency can be a real problem in Bandlab. The android version has a latency setup feature but it doesn't always work, so here is how to fix your vocal recording if you are having latency issues that make your vocal sound out of time with your song.

It’s too much just to fix latency. I have no plans to follow the steps that’s too much

Even pro studios with software have to do this sometimes, not because of software or hardware latency but because many singers (and musicians) can't sing (or play) in time with the beat... It's just one of those jobs that make the people who mix songs so important 🤔

This video shows how to fix latency on android phones. For phones that don't have the latency fix section on the settings screen, here is a link to my other latency video...

I turn off the monitor (headphones icon bottom right of screen) when recording vocals, as the monitor has heavy latency which creates that annoying vocal echo.

Sometimes a better vocal technique helps, I always recommend standing up when recording vocals, with your mouth about 4 inches (10cm) away from the mic. Sing directly at the mic with a focused voice (don't open your mouth too wide or as if you are smiling) and breath from your stomach not your chest. These simple vocal techniques can increase the loudness of your voice (and so the effective loudness of the mic) by more than 100 percent (with a bit of practice).
And sometimes you just need a better mic...

@@SHASHI7-d2j You may need a preamp for your mic? what kind of mic do you have? For straight to usb mic? You can check your windows record settings by double right clicking on the speaker icon and checking your mixer settings. If it is through an audio interface check that the button is pressed that gives you phantom power if you have a fancy mic or you may have a setting that turns on the mic then check the volume setting. Hope that helps.

Technically, the bandlab latency fix on android devices is latency compensation (it moves mic recordings forward to sync them to the song by the amount of detected latency). The physical latency itself can't be changed.

Hi, I have a question. So basically I used to record on my Iphone with my blue yeti microphone, however it’s annoying to assemble tons of cables together just to have a better quality sound (i didn’t have any latency problem but I just want something more comfortable to use).So recently I try to use bandlab on my computer. So I use the same microphone that I used to use on my phone. At the beginning it was good because I could do the same thing on my phone. Nevertheless when I listen at the end I noticed a latency issue. I’ve search for solution and I found the test that bandlab recommend. The problem is that every time I do this test they advice me something that it doesn’t work. I mean the first time I’ve done this test they advice me 150 m/s which slow down my soundtrack. Then I repeated the test several times but there was no evolution. Actually, I’m a little desperate and hope finding a solution thanks to your help.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

The test sends a sound to your computer speakers and uses your microphone to record the sound from the speakers. The latency is the time between bandlab sending the test bleep and the microphone picking up the bleep from your speakers...
      So...
Don't use headphones (the microphone will probably not pick up the bleeps from the headphones).
Turn the volume of your speakers up loud.
Turn the input volume of your microphone up loud.
Place your microphone near one of the speakers.
If you are using the sound card built into your computer, the latency will probably be high. It is best to use an audio interface and an asio audio interface driver.

      Yes and no...
      Yes you do except...
If you record each track from the same point in your song (for example, from the start or from the beginning of bar measure 12 on the ruler), then you can simply just line up the beginning of each recording with the first track

Hi, for the latency test to work, the microphone has to pick up the sound of the beeps. So make sure the volume is up nice and high on your laptop speakers and make sure the microphone volume level is nice and high too.
If you don't know how to set the volume of your USB microphone, check out my tutorial video...

Airpods use audio Bluetooth, which has huge latency and would make recording difficult so I would not recommend using airpods
