A cob community would be awesome. Rolling hills of cob homes. Each one completely unique in design from foundation to roof. Where I live the clay can be found in all different natural colors. Getting families together to build is empowering. I believe I would opt for the bobcat and spend more time being creative. : ) Thanks Alex!

You could have mixed it in one of those concrete mixers. I've seen someone do it, I just don't remember who it was.
What are the ratios of ingredients
Do you find that therapeutic? It seems like it would be.
Would a concrete mixer do the job?
Can you add quick lime to it or does it not work with cob? Ik the Romans put it in their concrete so it would patch itself
Portable generator, mixer, done
Mortar mixers work fairly well for cob mixing, but it depends on the size of the mixer and how sticky your soil is.
Why not use a portable cement mixer?
I had to get my sunglasses and put them on once you took off your crocks dude! Your feet were blinding me! lol!
Next time, put one bucket on each corner of the tarp, and the straw bale on the 4th. Wind won't blow it.

Yes
where do you get the clay
You can usually get the clay from anywhere. Dig below the topsoil and you can use the subsoil to make cob usually.

So in other words, you completely totally exhaust yourself making the equivalent of what? about 1 cubic foot? Maybe 2? I guess if one had years to build something ...or an army of people to help? Why not a shovel and wheelbarrow at least? Would that work?
Nah, we use machinery to do this process. At least I like to. It makes it 100x faster and more efficient. But its good to know the foot mixing process to get a sense for making good cob material.

Wheel barrow and an enxada.. Mix it and rub it into paste before transporting it to bucket forbuilding.
