I would add, it is one of the very few pricing games where you can win a car and can continue to play for cash depending on how many turns you have left. Most of the time Drew does not ask if you want to keep going considering the car is the best prize, but if you were gutsy you can go for a cash prize as well.

I am going on record as to say that my former Home Ec. Teacher, from Miramichi, New Brunswick, was on The Price is Right in 2013 (I think), and she played Pass the Buck. She didn't know that jam was over $3.00 and she only one $1000 and a pair of sunglasses that she bid on in Contestant's Row.

Honorable Mention: It bears another similarity to “Tic Tac Dough”. As you know, “Tic Tac Dough” was hosted by Wink Martindale from 1978 until 1985, and later hosted by Jim Caldwell for the final season from 1985 until 1986. But don’t get started with the 1990 revival with Patrick Wayne, and that was godawful. “Tic Tac Dough” had a bonus round where you can find which number where you can win money in the pot, or a prize where the “Tic” and “Tac” were located, and there is a dragon on one of the random numbers that are chosen, you lose everything, and you have to avoid the dragon. That would be the inspiration for what would later become “Pass The Buck”.

Bill Cullen was also the first host of The Price is Right, from 1956-65. He also was severely hobbled by a case of polio in childhood, and it took monumental effort for him to walk..

On Bill Cullen's Pass the Buck, one of the categories was to name something that you roll or gets rolled up. Someone said a joint which was accepted. Later someone else said you roll up a dollar bill which oddly was not accepted. Gotta love the 70s.

Funny that Bill Cullen is the one that hosted the show of the same name as this pricing game as, prior to Bob taking them helm in 1972, Cullen was the host of the original Price Is Right from 1956 to 1965, hence why the first year of Barker’s tenure as host was when it was called The *New* Price Is Right.

Another fun fact: In at least the first years under Drew (not sure under Bob), the placement of prizes fell into just three patterns. If you selected #1, what you saw under it would dictate where the car was. It was very predictable. At some point they did away with that, and made it harder.

The Bill Cullen gameshow was criminally underrated. (End game format would need to be updated in a revival.)

Bob Barker even plugged the game show Pass the Buck as it preceded TPIR on the CBS daytime schedule.

Number two got me thinking about Gene Snyder. He would’ve enjoyed pressing his luck - excuse me - passing the buck for…
    Gene: EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!

I volunteered for Gene Snyder's last Senate campaign in 1982.

Talk about an obscure game show from 1978 that rarely gets the recognition it deserves.

28 win percentage?. I mean the only way anybody could lose is when they LOSE EVERYTHING & the game is automatically over
