    I love a functional bullet journal! So fun seeing what goes on in a planner’s mind… how one plans and pivots/changes layouts, etc. When I start watching a “plan with me” video and the person takes so much time just describing stickers and shops and washi etc, I feel like I want to cry. So glad I found you here!

      @@pinayknitter Hello hello! I always see you liking my IG posts...thank you! ❤️❤️ haha I am also annoyed at flip videos where it's like 8mins in the video and it's only just a litany of shop names of all the deco. 🤣 It's also why I don't watch PWM videos. 😅😅😅
      This is why I love the OG bujo: there's always room to experiment with layouts and sections without having to abandon the book. I'm happy that was your takeaway as it was also one of my intentions. Thank you so much!!

I really struggled with bullet journaling in the past because I was also introduced to bujos by TH-cam, and the need to be "aesthetic" and creative on every page created so much contempt with planning and journaling. I really enjoyed this video. I am on the minimalist bullet journal side of things. I like writing. Looking forward to next years. This was my first Full Year 2024 of doing the Bujo Method. and I really enjoyed it. Lets say its January(2025) say in 4 Months time (May 2025) an appointment or event-something to do later. Do you add that to the future log, then when you set up (May 2025) you add it from the Future Log into that Monthly Log? Im not 100% sure if thats the correct way or not, but I feel like it is? Either way thank you so much for this video. I really enjoyed it. Saved it again for when I go to set up My 2025 Book. But I am mostly trying to go the Original way- I do have a sleep tracker which I try to stay up with as well as some other mini trackers I piggy back off of. But again Thank you for taking the time to make the video. Best Minimal Basic Bullet Journal approach I've seen.

      @@thestationeryjunkie Yea i loved it! Looking more into the Alastair method, which I think i kind of used but didn't know it had a name. another Daily system which I like is the ugMonk index system... i use it for like "taking my bujo day" on a index card -- I don't really like my bullet journal leaving the house unless I am going away for a little while. Its pricey so I just made a diy one with some scrap wood, but the Daily Index is what I call it. Its like a task list on the go. I have the Bullet Journal Method book, and i really enjoyed it, I read in February of this year and was Introduced to Bujo last July and started in a Drawing Book collecting dust, now its a Keepsake.

    • @thestationeryjunkie
      @thestationeryjunkie  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ThinKtakeNotes Interesting! So do you still keep your bujo at home and have that portable task list with you? I take mine everywhere even if it's an A5 book. It can be a hassle but it's like my security blanket. 😅

    • @ThinKtakeNotes
      @ThinKtakeNotes 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thestationeryjunkie I just watched your video again LOL. I love the Basic approach. I like writing so im not big on the all the Drawing and Designing. I treat it like a captains log. My book is an A5 and it sits on my wall easel and its the first thing I grab when I get up in the morning and the last thing I touch when i 'shut down' and go to bed. I usually lay out my weeks in advance, but the original Monthly Log with the numbers down the side (i did other 'Designs' which I didn't really use it other than to look at.) I like so much better as I can add tasks/events that are coming up. And going back through it and adding to it. Before I used to have the week/days laid out in advance and I could fill them in, but I would have some days with not a lot going on, and like you the Empty Spots in the book kinda bug me a bit.. I like full pages. So filling it out as the day goes on, or when I get home to use it as a catchall. I don't have as many tasks as you though lol.
      So when I am out i don't really like carrying stuff that can't fit into my pocket. So i like to have index cards I can scratch write in them as necessary a lot of times its something from a podcast, or a quote from a book I saw in a store or just something that stuck in my mind. Then when I get home ill transfer what matters into the Bujo. Big believer in writing to declutter the mind. Why I love 'Artists Way: Morning Pages' Free up the clutter to create more space for creativity.

    Unfortunately, what you've called the "Index" isn't actually the index, it's the Table of Contents - or Contents - for short. The Index goes at the back of a book with a list of topics / themes / key words and the relevant page numbers where that particular topic can be found withing the book. I think this was an error that was in the original bullet journal and sadly almost everyone seems to have copied it exactly.

    • @thestationeryjunkie

      @@princelanguages8924 I'm merely following what's written in the official notebook. Most in the bujo community and even Ryder calls it an index. The TOC like in regular books already state the location of the content, but the index, to me, is a WIP list--you build it up over time as you write on the notebook. Anyway, it's what the community calls it. 😅 I didn't invent it. 😅😅😅

      I know this comment is a few months old, but I just wanted to mention that the bullet journal index has been named specifically because it functions in the same way an index in a book would, even though its placement is at the front. Similar to a book index, a bullet journal index will list out every instance of a collection within the journal. For instance, if you start a list of books you want to read on page 24, but then run out of space and continue it on page 56, then your bullet journal index would list this as "Reading list - 24, 56". A table of contents on the other hand lists every page/section in the order they're found in a book. Hope that makes sense! 😊
