Ron, thanks for your incredible dedication to our local history, and your artistic creations bringing them back to life. Thirty years ago you graciously opened up your home to my two little boys because they were fascinated by the caboose in your yard. Both of them have grown up to operate locomotives today, one for CSX and the other for Amtrak.
Omg!!! I wished i lived close to u....i could listen to ur knowledge all day and night about this stuff.....history bored me to death.....this stuff never gets old.....thank you so much for that great video!!!!!!!
I grew up in Allentown in the 1960's. Many of your vista elements are familiar. My dad took me to the Lehigh River in Reading to fish when I was 8 years old in 1958. Life was certainly less hectic then.
Ron, all I can say is you have done a spectacular job on your model railroad. I love the fact that you have brought history together with your layout. You knowledge of the specific buildings and their history astounds me. You are to be commended for bringing history alive with your model railroad. Congratulations! This has to be one of the most superior model railroads I have visited on the internet. ...Joel Eikomstead, Fargo, North Dakota. I am a PRR and East Coast Railroad fan. That may be because I was raised outside of Philadelphia in my youth.
This is great historic modelling and a real inspiration! Lots of information about times gone by. And of course with so much history the De-Lorean-back-to the future-car is obligatory. Greetings from Ulm-Germany!
What a great layout and presentation. I extend my gratitude for having you share this exceptional layout with us less fortunate one's that have no layout. I thank you exceedingly!
Was a really cool display.Love seeing the historic pictures of that area. I like to fish the Easton/Phillipsburg area, always tried to imagine what it was like Thanks again.
I enjoyed your layout and train action. I especially enjoyed your Knowledge of the Lehigh River Valley. Looked at your other video and decided to subscribe. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent.
Magnificent beautiful handiwork. Father’s family from Bethlehem and Jim Thorpe, shocking reproduction of towns and station well done. His family worked New Jersey Central at Jim Thorpe (Mauch Chunk). Is Joseph T. Leonardis Undertaking Establishment depicted at 38 Broadway there. When I toured it in 1999 it still used a black 1940’s Packard hearse.
Wow, I live close by just east of P'burg. I'm planning my own layout of this area in HO scale. Would love to swing by and see your layout if possible. I was doing research by driving the old LV line and saw the house in Steel City. Now I know who lives there. Amazing. I would love to visit if tours are available.
Fantastic oral history coupled with the depictions and running trains. Thanks for letting us see it. In 1972 to 1974 when I was a student at Lafayette I lived on Wolf Avenue in Easton. A long hill ran down from the building I was in, down to a river with a number of tracks parallel to the river. Is that section shown on your model? I have a few pictures somewhere.
+PeterInPa Is it possible to see this model railroad at some time? When is it open for viewing? Fabulous video and model RR and fabulous effort on the part of Ron. Thanks for posting.
Thank you , very informative. I live by the old CNJ line at Aldene. It’s used now by NS/CSX and NJ Transit. Beautiful workmanship. What scale is this ?
To the best of my knowledge Ron opens the layout to the Lehigh Valley Chapter NRHS members once a year but it isn't open to the general public. If you're in the greater Lehigh Valley you might consider joining the chapter. The open house is in the summer I believe.
That's O Scale, 2 rail... Not that 3 rail toy stuff,.. thank you... great job thanks for the video and the great history lesson LOL Having grown up in Stratford Connecticut I can remember some great railroads running from Bridgeport Connecticut to White River Junction Vermont real railroad Buffs will know exactly what I'm referring to LOL
Are there different kinds of O scale track styles? This track doesn't have the middle rail. This track looks more realistic. From what I can tell the engine trucks look more natural.
Awesome video and history... I browsed and subscribed. If you have a sec. checkout my new video, "CHERRY VALLEY, O SCALE, 2017" (pretty nice "two-rail" layout and features, Philadelphia's 30th Street Station) Thx, Moses...

Great video Did Bill Fagin record a cabride on this layout
Is there any way we can visit Ron and his layout? I pass his place a few times a month on the way to Steel City range.
Ron opens the layout to the LV NRHS once a year. I was fortunate to be able to get 2 days private showing to put this together.
Is Newark Penn Station and / or Newark Oak Island yard on this layout ?
Impressive workmanship .
No.
+PeterInPa Is it possible to see this model railroad at some time? When is it open for viewing? Fabulous video and model RR and fabulous effort on the part of Ron. Thanks for posting.
Nice job where do you live and do you show it to people
Wow! How large was this layout.?

See and learn about O Scale at the 2018 O Scale National Convention, Aug. 22-26, 2018; Rockville, MD. 2018OScalenational.com
i worked right down the road from him.
You forgot weissport. Poor Ole weissport. :(
what kills this work is the static human figure .
Sounds like arsonists did more to your area than Gen. William T. Sherman did to mine.

So basically nothing shown here survives today; pretty sad.
