Hey, I totally understand how it can be overwhelming! My advice - use shift, ctrl, alt modifiers to literally triple the amount of keybinds you have. For example: Q, W, E, R, T is 5 binds. Using shift, ctrl, alt modifiers turns that into 15 binds. Use pinky for shift + ctrl, use thumb for alt. It will take some time to get used to, but with practice you can become very comfortable with it. Good luck!
A noob question: how much of a difference does a conq vs a honor weapon? I mean that MM spells, mostly, does physical dmg so it depends on weapon damage also right? Thanks :)
Hello! Yes, conquest weapon vs honor weapon is a big deal, especially for classes who hit with their weapon like MM does. Even if for example you're a mage, who doesn't hit with their weapon, the stats you get from a BiS weapon are still significant.

Hello, I'm so glad I could help out! Great question - yes, for example if there are 2 melee on you then definitely use Cheetah + Freedom together to jet out of there. Freedom by itself won't be enough. If you're playing vs a Boomy and your healer isn't an Rdruid / Rshaman (with Spirit Walk) / a Gnome, you 100% have to save your Freedom for the Root Beam combo. In this situation pretty much never use Freedom on yourself, you have to hold it for your healer.
Love the guide but whats the sustained dps rotation? do you wait to use explosive shot always with chakram or just press them on CD after the burst opener
Hey! I talk about the sustained dps priority in the "how to do damage" section. Regarding Explosive and Chakrams after the opener, it is situational. Sometimes you can use on CD to generate pressure. Or, if for example you have Intim --> Trap on healer in 5 seconds, you can hold to combo it with that.

Yo! There's a couple ways to do it - the most reliable is Intim --> Trap. Plus you can do this from the farthest range, keeping yourself safer. But of course you can only do this every 1 min. Outside of that, it's Scatter --> Trap, but you have to get closer for Scatter range, compromising your positioning. You would likely only ever want to Chimaeral --> Trap as Survival because you have Harpoon. Chimaeral silence portion denies any counterplay from the healer (Fade, Death, Grounding, Time Stop, etc)

Is sporecloak not a good option? I am an engineer so I have Mastery only helm and bracers which give me shitloads of mastery and i have pvp reagets on them so i use them in both pve and pvp, also is petless marksman not good in pvp? I dont play with a pet
Yo! I would not recommend Sporecloak. It has a huge pvp modifier that greatly reduces its effectiveness. You're better off playing different embellishments. If you have Lone Wolf selected, you can open matches with no pet for 10% more burst, but you absolutely need to summon pet after that. You miss out on too much by not having it - pet mortal wounds debuff, ros, freedom, intimidation.
@@maxthegamer You don't want Sporecloak anyway, it won't let you do big dam! Play either Blue Silken Lining x2, Venom Boots + Toxified Armor Patch, or Adaptive Armguards + Infurious Boots! Those are your best combos.

Hey thanks so much for watching! Yes, in pvp you want to keep your pet on passive (not assist like in pve) and control your pet manually. Personally I do pet attack = mouse wheel scroll up, and pet follow = mouse wheel scroll down. Makes it super efficient I think. This allows you to control your pet with your right hand while simultaneously using globals with your left hand.

Is it on a different target to your kill target because the travel time for it to make it to your kill target is too large? Essentially what's your flowchart for pet management xD
@@dotaheroics Don't overthink it. The amount of auto attack dmg your pet does is SUPER minimal so you just keep pet on your target to apply pet mortal wounds effect. Also if you ever play SV or BM you don't really have a choice, because everytime you press Kill Command/Flanking Strike/Barbed Shot your pet switches to your target. I would say you pretty much never send pet on healer solo unless you're trying to stop a healer drink, and even then there's 10 other ways to do that faster than your pet waddling across the map lol.

Thanks for the great content! You mentioned Rapid Fire is top priority after Trueshot but what about Explosive Shot, Volly, Aim Shot, Death Chakram etc.? Do I also use them on CD?
Great question! Yeah so outside of Trueshot, your priority is keep Rapid Fire on cooldown --> try not to sit on 2 stacks of Aimed Shot (means you're wasting dmg) --> use Kill Shot procs --> use Arcane Shot procs. Explosive + Death Chakrams - sometimes used on CD to generate pressure, sometimes held if for example I know I can Intim --> Trap healer in like 5 seconds. Try to have have healer in CC so they can't dispel your Explosive, but it will happen sometimes and it's okay. And lastly, try to use Explosive + Death Chakrams BEFORE Trueshot, not during (wasting globals during Trueshot). Volley is just used when they are stacked up and you can get a nice Volley + Rapid Fire combo for huge spread pressure. Keep in mind that anything could happen, and you may not be able to do the "perfect" priority system every time, and that's okay! This just outlines an idyllic scenario.

Hey thanks so much! The Salvo build is cool too, but yes I prefer this one. MM definitely needs a teammate with a lot of control/peel to help you shine. Your best dps partners will be Feral, Rogue, and Ret Pally.
How about a guide on what to do as MM in a 3 melee SS lobby? The talents you're running in the video work well against casters lobby, but it's hard to get aimed shot off in melee lobby
I'll try to MM solo q soon, and see if I can proc a 3 melee lobby. In the meantime, some tips - talents would be pretty much exactly the same still, getting off Aimed Shots into double melee is going to be harder, that's part of it. Your range is your biggest asset. Open from max range and as soon as the 2 melee run at you, use your mobility (disengage, pet freedom, cheetah) and start weening (pulling the melee across the map, your goal here is to drag them into a bad spot and make them range/line their healer). The melee will connect eventually but your goal is to try and delay that as long as possible. With this strat, you're not trapping healer as that is usually suicidal in this kind of matchup. Let your teammates CC healer while you Binding Shot + Diamond Ice to self peel as you're dragging the melee across the map. Focus on minimizing their uptime and maximizing your damage, you literally do not care about CC'ing enemy healer at all in this situation.
any tips on strats for playing ret/hunter? i feel kinda like you in that trapping healer feels like such a chore and ends up putting me in a bad spot to get peeled and kill my dmg output. i play with an rsham/ret though so they dont have a ton in terms of healer cc off scatter. you think staying back and doing dam can work with that too or still need to push for triple cc on enemy team? stuck around 2200 in 3s this season
Totally feel that. To be honest I haven't played Cupid in a long time, so I can't say with 100% certainty what feels best. My guess would be experiment with Diamond on enemy melee, into Scatter --> HoJ/Blinding Light on healer, that alone will generate a lot of pressure! Rsham can throw random Hexes on off target, or on healer if you can't get in range for Scatter. Good luck and let me know what works for you!

But until then, the addons that make my UI look the way it does is SUI + Neat Plates (I use the Grey theme). Other than that I am using all the standard PVP ones, like BigDebuffs, SArena, Diminish, WeakAuras, etc
I'm comming back after a while and am unsure of one thing. How do you have PvE tier sets and scale that same gear in pvp at the same time? Do I have to craft that gear somehow meaning I have to lvl my professions? And also this tier gear is obtainable only through M+ right?
Yooo, it's super confusing I won't lie. So, tier set can be on PVE or PVP gear. PVP gear has a tooltip on it that says "Increases item level to 528 in PVP combat." Your tier has nothing to do with professions, so you don't have to level those if you don't want to. You apply tier to your gear (regardless of if it's PVE or PVP) by going to the catalyst in Thaldraszus. For PVP, you would buy your gear from the conquest vendor, take it to the catalyst, then turn it into PVP tier.
@@Qwuarter Well, building your tier set through the catalyst has actually been in place for the entire expansion. But if you are just returning now I completely understand that it would be confusing! 😬
@@Jaywaz Yeah well this is awkward. I played the entire season 3 but I mainly played M+ resto druid and got all my set bonuses from the vault and never found out about the catalyst. I played PvP just a bit on the side and it never occurred to me that people need to acquire set bonuses somehow :D

Hey thank you for watching! So, it depends on the matchup whether you trap healer or Diamond a dps. I haven't played Cupid in a long time so I can't speak as to what feels best, but I'd recommend trying both strats and seeing what feels best! For example, if you are playing against 2 casters my suggestion would be traps on healer, and if you are playing against 1-2 melee, try Diamond on the melee and throw Scatter, HoJ, Blinding Light on healer.

Greetings! Great vid, im going to sit down and watch it all now. I was looking up guides for macros. Now I understand having counter shot binded for all three enemies, but why have a fourth for the focus target which is already covered?
Great question, and something I didn't understand when I was learning. The answer is flexibility. Sometimes you'll be guarding arena123 frames, sometimes you'll be guarding a focus frame. Ideally you want to have the ability to kick focus target OR arena123 at any given moment. That being said, a lot of great players use exclusively focus or exclusively arena123 (though this is more rare, most use focus), so it does come down to preference to some extent. I'd experiment and see what works best for you!

Hey welcome to hunter! Regarding Concussive Shot, yes you will use it sometimes, but do not attempt to keep 100% uptime on it because you don't have the globals for that. Also just about everything in the game slows now so it's even less important to prioritize Conc Shot. Everything in the game is dynamic and situational, but one of the big rules you can tell yourself as MM vs double melee, is to prioritize keeping distance and doing biiiig damage. If they run at you, pull them out of range and out of LOS of their healer. Your job is to drag them into a bad spot. You also likely want to be Diamond Ice to self peel & slow down their damage.

Great video. Picking up hunter in retail for the first time so it's super helpful. How do you suggest managing the pet? Do you macro it in with some damage abilities, or is it it's own bind where you send in / recall your pet?
Hey thanks so much for watching! Yes, in pvp you want to keep your pet on passive (not assist like in pve) and control your pet manually. Personally I do pet attack = mouse wheel scroll up, and pet follow = mouse wheel scroll down. Makes it super efficient I think. This allows you to control your pet with your right hand while simultaneously using globals with your left hand.

1. Is it always your kill target?
2. Is it sometimes on the healer to harass while trap is on DR?
3. Is it on a different target to your kill target because the travel time for it to make it to your kill target is too large?

@@dotaheroics Don't overthink it. The amount of auto attack dmg your pet does is SUPER minimal so you just keep pet on your target to apply pet mortal wounds effect.
Also if you ever play SV or BM you don't really have a choice, because everytime you press Kill Command/Flanking Strike/Barbed Shot your pet switches to your target. I would say you pretty much never send pet on healer solo unless you're trying to stop a healer drink, and even then there's 10 other ways to do that faster than your pet waddling across the map lol.

Struggeling when They stick on my ass tbh :D Had the Same feeling about traps, its often Not worth to Go for a trap and lose positioning and dps… Its more value to CC dps and take out some pressure :) Bicmexs once Said: „Play 3s as you Play double DPS - maximise your DMG and minimize DMG you take“

Thanks for the great content! You mentioned Rapid Fire is top priority after Trueshot but what about Explosive Shot, Volly, Aim Shot, Death Chakram etc.? Do I also use them on CD?
Great question! Yeah so outside of Trueshot, your priority is keep Rapid Fire on cooldown --> try not to sit on 2 stacks of Aimed Shot (means you're wasting dmg) --> use Kill Shot procs --> use Arcane Shot procs.
Explosive + Death Chakrams - sometimes used on CD to generate pressure, sometimes held if for example I know I can Intim --> Trap healer in like 5 seconds. Try to have have healer in CC so they can't dispel your Explosive, but it will happen sometimes and it's okay. And lastly, try to use Explosive + Death Chakrams BEFORE Trueshot, not during (wasting globals during Trueshot). Volley is just used when they are stacked up and you can get a nice Volley + Rapid Fire combo for huge spread pressure.
Keep in mind that anything could happen, and you may not be able to do the "perfect" priority system every time, and that's okay! This just outlines an idyllic scenario.

MM definitely needs a teammate with a lot of control/peel to help you shine. Your best dps partners will be Feral, Rogue, and Ret Pally.

How about a guide on what to do as MM in a 3 melee SS lobby? The talents you're running in the video work well against casters lobby, but it's hard to get aimed shot off in melee lobby
I'll try to MM solo q soon, and see if I can proc a 3 melee lobby.
In the meantime, some tips - talents would be pretty much exactly the same still, getting off Aimed Shots into double melee is going to be harder, that's part of it. Your range is your biggest asset. Open from max range and as soon as the 2 melee run at you, use your mobility (disengage, pet freedom, cheetah) and start weening (pulling the melee across the map, your goal here is to drag them into a bad spot and make them range/line their healer). The melee will connect eventually but your goal is to try and delay that as long as possible.
With this strat, you're not trapping healer as that is usually suicidal in this kind of matchup. Let your teammates CC healer while you Binding Shot + Diamond Ice to self peel as you're dragging the melee across the map. Focus on minimizing their uptime and maximizing your damage, you literally do not care about CC'ing enemy healer at all in this situation.

any tips on strats for playing ret/hunter? i feel kinda like you in that trapping healer feels like such a chore and ends up putting me in a bad spot to get peeled and kill my dmg output. i play with an rsham/ret though so they dont have a ton in terms of healer cc off scatter. you think staying back and doing dam can work with that too or still need to push for triple cc on enemy team? stuck around 2200 in 3s this season
Totally feel that. To be honest I haven't played Cupid in a long time, so I can't say with 100% certainty what feels best.
My guess would be experiment with Diamond on enemy melee, into Scatter --> HoJ/Blinding Light on healer, that alone will generate a lot of pressure! Rsham can throw random Hexes on off target, or on healer if you can't get in range for Scatter. Good luck and let me know what works for you!

But until then, the addons that make my UI look the way it does is SUI + Neat Plates (I use the Grey theme). Other than that I am using all the standard PVP ones, like BigDebuffs, SArena, Diminish, WeakAuras, etc

I'm comming back after a while and am unsure of one thing. How do you have PvE tier sets and scale that same gear in pvp at the same time? Do I have to craft that gear somehow meaning I have to lvl my professions? And also this tier gear is obtainable only through M+ right?
Yooo, it's super confusing I won't lie.
So, tier set can be on PVE or PVP gear. PVP gear has a tooltip on it that says "Increases item level to 528 in PVP combat."
Your tier has nothing to do with professions, so you don't have to level those if you don't want to. You apply tier to your gear (regardless of if it's PVE or PVP) by going to the catalyst in Thaldraszus. For PVP, you would buy your gear from the conquest vendor, take it to the catalyst, then turn it into PVP tier.

@@Jaywaz Yeah well this is awkward. I played the entire season 3 but I mainly played M+ resto druid and got all my set bonuses from the vault and never found out about the catalyst. I played PvP just a bit on the side and it never occurred to me that people need to acquire set bonuses somehow :D

Hey thank you for watching! So, it depends on the matchup whether you trap healer or Diamond a dps. I haven't played Cupid in a long time so I can't speak as to what feels best, but I'd recommend trying both strats and seeing what feels best!
For example, if you are playing against 2 casters my suggestion would be traps on healer, and if you are playing against 1-2 melee, try Diamond on the melee and throw Scatter, HoJ, Blinding Light on healer.

@@anthonysanchez9204 90% of the time, yes! Occasionally you can run tenacity pet with MS, or if you're playing with a fury warrior you want to play a cunning pet with no MS (until next expansion when they fix fury's stacking MS)

What weakaura /tmws are you using to show buffs by your character , ive got some set up on a couple.other classes but would like to get some hunter ones. Currently 2450 in shuff on bm and got to 2500 last season on it. 2.7xp glad warrior and ive been 2.3 in 3s on hunter, wanting to push glad on hunter now and looking to be better on mm . Thanks .
Hey rad! These are really simple WA's I made just so I can keep track of a few crucial buffs. I do the same for Barbed Shot stacks on BM. I keep glow off for these, but you can turn glow on if you prefer that.

Greetings! Great vid, im going to sit down and watch it all now. I was looking up guides for macros. Now I understand having counter shot binded for all three enemies, but why have a fourth for the focus target which is already covered?
Great question, and something I didn't understand when I was learning. The answer is flexibility. Sometimes you'll be guarding arena123 frames, sometimes you'll be guarding a focus frame. Ideally you want to have the ability to kick focus target OR arena123 at any given moment.
That being said, a lot of great players use exclusively focus or exclusively arena123 (though this is more rare, most use focus), so it does come down to preference to some extent. I'd experiment and see what works best for you!

Do you keep concussive shot up on target? when should i be using it... also what do i do against double melee am i supposed to kite them in tar trap running in circles or what
Hey welcome to hunter! Regarding Concussive Shot, yes you will use it sometimes, but do not attempt to keep 100% uptime on it because you don't have the globals for that. Also just about everything in the game slows now so it's even less important to prioritize Conc Shot.
Everything in the game is dynamic and situational, but one of the big rules you can tell yourself as MM vs double melee, is to prioritize keeping distance and doing biiiig damage. If they run at you, pull them out of range and out of LOS of their healer. Your job is to drag them into a bad spot. You also likely want to be Diamond Ice to self peel & slow down their damage.
