    Thank you for posting this video. I watched this several times, ordered your charcoal grey and coffee brown, and our stamped concrete turned out fantastic. Very pleased. Couple bits of advice for those reading and about to embark on the project. Keep shaking the product in the sprayer or container while applying. Ours turned out a little heavy in areas. Buy a quality sprayer and practice spraying a nice fine mist. Before you apply the sealer, you will probably doubt yourself. I did. Some areas looked too concentrated, there were several drip marks where my sprayer dropped spots when I applied the accent color.. I used the blower and the water to mitigate it, but it didn't disburse the product like it did for the pros in the video. It won't look perfect, but that's just fine. It's stamped concrete and you don't want a uniformed look. It's forgiving and even with my mistakes it turned out awesome. Do this yourself and save the money. It was fun.

    I just utilized this concept to resurrect a faded stamped patio with depleted sealer. My color was liquid concentrate. I diluted it in a watering can, going darker than I intended knowing the underlying color would soak into the dry concrete. I then pushed the color around with a wide broom, and used a water based sealer when I was done. Came out fantastic. It has lightened slightly into our desired shade in a few weeks. I plan on staying on top of it by applying a color enhancing sealer every year or so. Thanks for your video.

    Hi Team, I wanted to let you know that I applied the techniques in this video and was able to match my new patch to the old patch. We had new concrete poured and the team used the wrong releaser. I went and purchased the correct color antiquing powder and applied it as explained here and got great results.

    This is a great job. I have some areas that have been protected by the sun that still have a shine to it - sealant. How do I remove it? Many thanks

    This is just what I needed!! I had a new patio poured, stamped and sealed two years ago and was told it would need to be pressure-washed and re-sealed in two years. Here were are and some areas are really light and others are really dark and I was told it now needs to be stained. I felt like there had to be a better way to do it and this is exactly what I was looking for, except I did purchase a non-yellowing acrylic vs what you used. I hope that will work as the sealer. I only want the charcoal too and am hopeful it will turn out as beautiful as it was two years ago. I didn't realize it would need to be done so soon...thought it would last for years. Of course, they didn't tell me that up front. Would a double coat of sealant make it last longer?? Thank you so much for sharing this video!!

    Like how the sealer is white on application so you know where it's going. My stamped patio is overdue for this, but thankfully I colored the concrete a mocha color, so shading would just be one step with the walnut coloring and grout lines. Great tutorial, thanks.

    Great vid. I want to color my already existing stamped painted sealed patio (much like with showing in your video ) but I want slightly change the color from greyish to a tan-ish river rock look. Can I just apply the steps you did (just simply add color on top of the existing patio and then apply sealant on top of that?). No need to strip off the sealant on the existing patio before I try to re-color.? Thanks

    I have a concrete overlay on my patio here in Houston that has not been resealed in many many years so the pigment is completely coming up all over a place. I know you're not supposed to pressure wash but I am purposely pressure washing to get as much of the old color up as possible... So that I can redo with this stuff. Do you have any suggestions on how to expedite the removal of the old stain in order to make it as light as possible? There is no remaining sealer on the deck

    Need your advice: It has only been 5 months since we restained and sealed our driveway, using polyurethane (gloss finish) and it is starting to flake off ? Preparation by trades person, as far as i am aware was done properly - being - acid was and pressure rinse; left to completely dry, free of debris etc. then tint and seal applied - 2 coats after a primer...is it potentially an adhesiveness issue? Much appreciated

    Question. Why does the pigment breakdown at the seams if it's only a year old? They added the pigment to the mix at the factory.

    I have an old faded light red stamped patio. Could I use this stuff to get a more light gray color or is it better to paint over with a masonry epoxy paint? Wife hates the color of the patio now since it’s 8 years old and severely faded.

    • @walttools7876
      @walttools7876  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are asking about the cracks in the beginning, they were filled with our stampable overlaymnet called Overeze. Then lightly sanded before we began the process of the recolor.

    • @donciesielski548

      Jane Doe , you can’t go much lighter than the original because the material is semitransparent. Stay light with the tru tique color such as the Natural or Champagne

    Just ordered this in sandstone, what happens if it gets wet again after the color dries?

    • @walttools7876
      @walttools7876  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The powder has a small amount of resin that helps hold in place but it is not made to be permanent. WE often rewet it to make corrections. An example is broom marks. Just rewet, agitate and let dry. You can even broom it while dry to abrade some of the color off the top surfaces to provide more contrast. If the question is in regards to RAIN, then it will be okay with light rain bus a god hard rain will remove some color. If not remove it, it will wash it of the top surfaces and concentrate the grout lines more. Hope that helps.
