I'm glad you made this video. I was always wondering how you fix a crack(s) in job you had done. What I find interesting is, again, the way you go about getting it done. The preparation, the adding of the filler and finally the coloring to match the original job. Good work as always. Stay safe.
Well, you've educated me again. Wow. How did you know it cracked? Owners called you, you probably told them before starting project that if any cracks appear to contact you immediately. Yes, I do understand exactly what would happen if water gets under cement. The forklifts I drove at Corning were indoor lifts made to run on smooth surfaces. But, they were driven outside a lot! Many, many times the concrete cracked and no repairs until it was a disaster! This was nice Tom, not a big job but very informative! I'm sorry that 2500 views only generated 568 likes at this time. People can be so selfish. How hard is it to click the thumbs up? After watching you the first time, I started clicking the like button first! That's not just because I'm sure I'm going to like the video but also out if respect. Heck, you don't have to record anything at all! But you did! I got to see that beautiful deck pad y'all did, very nice! And was able to see how you came back to a finished job to protect their patio and keep it beautiful! I not only was able to enjoy watching your work, I learned about how to fix the damage. Perfect! This video deserves many more likes! Thanks Tom for sharing w us, I really do enjoy watching and learning about your very top notch, professional work. I've not found another concrete company's work as good as yours, I watched others, but only subscribed to yours. I hit the notification bell too as I don't want to miss any videos. Thank you for recording and thanks to your daughter for editing! See ya tomorrow! 👍👌😁
I just spent a few hours repairing quite a few cracks in my aggregate driveway. When it was installed, they definitely did not put enough tool or saw cuts in high probability crack locations! I'm dangerous now with my You Tube concrete knowledge:)
Can the same method be done to an aggregate driveway? I noticed my brother's beautiful driveway has some small cracks in it, not that he'd notice it, and thought if this method would work I'd seal the cracks up for him and keep water and freezing from making it worse. Thank you for all the tips you all share, it's appreciated!
With all of those post sticking out how on earth could you put enough control joints in to catch all of the crack possibilities ? Nice tip on repairing colored concrete.
Here in GA the posts by code cannot be in the concrete. The posts have to be on a metal foot which is anchored to the cement. Damn code but it's a good code.
TOM, thanks for all your tips, tricks, and 'how ya doo's'! Most all of the control joints in my 4 1/2 to 5in fibercrete pour with rebar grid of 2x3 ft sitting on chairs, have started to crack, concrete pour is 4months old. Will it be ok to hold off till spring to caulk them ? Gonna use Tremco dymonic FC to fill all the joints to keep the debris out. Doubtful this pad will heave. ...Your thoughts??
Your boy Tom is the quiet one of the family isn't he. I've watched almost all of your videos and he seems to stay away of the camera and really doesn't say much like your other son does. Thank You your videos are very helpful and enjoyable.
Great video. I have a newer stamped pad that already has very thin hairline cracks. Is the powder being applied after the crack filler just the coloring powder typically mixed into the concrete being smeared into the crack filler? I would like to match my concrete as best as possible.
@@Concretewiththehauses but are you just using the raw powder to coat the crack filler? My pad is a u20 smoke color. So would I just get that same color powder? I appreciate your info!!
Do you recommend a coat of sealer after crack filling? If so, how long before you can do it? Seems like you'd be tracking pigment around without sealing.
When the sponge gets too much crack sealer, can they be put in a bucket of water to be cleaned later or are they just trash? I have some cracks I need to fix.
Other than the control cuts you always do, is there anything else you can do to minimize the cracks? If cracks can happen after a job by a professional of your standards, they truly must be inevitable.
Thank you for being a professional and guaranteeing your work! Good Karma will follow you. God Bless!
The concrete magician strikes again, pretty slick, great job you 2
Taxes and concrete cracking are the only things that are guaranteed while we are alive. Great video and good job on the repair!

This just 'cracks' me up. Thanks for the repair info.
That crack filler works really good and I had to use it on my driveway. You can't tell where the crack was at after you and Matt repaired it.
Great information Tom! Thanks for sharing.

Lol 😂
Loved it please more. Thanks
Nice job guys!!
Great job
I need to do this to my driveway, thanks for the informative video.

I love it way to go
try a rubber float to push material in the crack works pretty good!! sponge wipe on a 45 degree angle will leave the material in the crack!!
LMAO
Sounds like you do some ceramic tile

I don’t think I’ve ever done it on exposed aggregate but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work just do a small area at a time
Like you said it’s gonna crack just a matter of where.

I didn’t get a cut off every post but we did wrap them with expansion joint
What kind of stain/color is Matt putting it over? Thanks.
Butterfield antiquing
with winter on you, when do you start pouring again next year???
We will pour often on throughout the winter come spring as soon as it stays above 40° we will go full speed
TOM, thanks for all your tips, tricks, and 'how ya doo's'!

I think 4 1/2 months is it decent amount of time to wait I would say sooner than later would be better
@@Concretewiththehauses Thanks Tom for your reply.
Appreciate it!
I’ve got a crack in my garage floor, should I sprinkle Portland on it to blend? Thanks
You can just use this crack filler product it is almost to the color of concrete

I always use my antiquing color. The secondary color works really well.

Yes, I do recommend sealing.have to wait until everything is dry that could vary.
What was the material you used to dust it ?
Do you seal right away or like the next day? Or wait until spring?
About 48 hours
HOW DO YOU WARRANTY CONCRETE? DO YOU TELL THEM UP FRONT THAT THERE COULD BE CRACKS DUE TO SHRINKAGE? WERE THEY OK WITH THE REPAIR?
Cap Lock Stuck?
@@markg.2501 no sorry.it was on so I went with it.
Don't
Yes we do not guarantee it not the crack just try to keep it to a minimum
How would you go about doing that for exposed aggregate? Every product out there leave gray lines.
When the sponge gets too much crack sealer, can they be put in a bucket of water to be cleaned later or are they just trash? I have some cracks I need to fix.
Things happens tom
How would you fix a crack on a exposed aggregate patio ?
This process would work it would just take a lot longer to wipe clean do a small area at a time
What material is Matt using
Azek
same amount of time Hauses could pour a whole patio . , touch ups take up time . Integrity = Hauses
What if your crack is higher on one side? just asking for a friend.
Other than the control cuts you always do, is there anything else you can do to minimize the cracks? If cracks can happen after a job by a professional of your standards, they truly must be inevitable.
Correct just trying to keep it to a minimum
Why not just saw cut the crack?
It’s not straight
It's funny that it cracks down the middle and not off the 20 corners
I know go figure
Our concrete pad is 6 months old and already has a big crack in it. Just called the contractor. We haven't even had a vehicle on it.
So sorry to hear that. Do you have any thoughts on what went wrong?
@@Concretewiththehauses It's a 20 x 25 pad and has one cut down the middle. Also doesn't look like it was poured deep enough.
You didn’t discuss color match!!
The big problem is if you don’t know the color to color with.
try to teach the young ones to use knee pads, us old people know all about the pain
Should have used epoxy instead.
There are 2 guarantees in life ,,,,,,, 1 everyone is going to die ,,,,2 . concrete is going to crack !!!!!!!!!!!!
Whats Matt got in house Bucket there Sir?
I BELIEVE THATS THE COLOR THEY BROADCAST ON THE PATIO WHEN THEY COLOR AND STAMP THE CONCRETE.
Colina tan the same color we used in original poor
U put cuts everywhere,u shouldn’t be responsible for a hair line crack,or is that a extra u are doing?
