    I like the message of this video and confirms the benefits to less volume per session more frequency per week. After years of going back and forth with push, pull, legs or split once a week per muscle group, low volume, high volume...etc, I'm finally doing some of that but also a very simple upper body (2 times a week) lower body (2 times a week) all lower volume higher intensity. The frequency and ease of less reps heavier weights is just working better for me & making the gym more fun as it's not wearing me down with the volume.

    • @zeno4538
      @zeno4538 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wether or not you go till failure is also an important variable for nattys. I've gotten more gains by increasing volume of both heavy and light by not going to failure, a few studies say it's not neccesary and can lead to worse recovery. I've found this isn't the case for arms though for what ever reason. I can blast my arms and they still recover quick.

    • @whitecrane542
      @whitecrane542 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed I respond both ways with less volume and more volume. 2 weeks ago I increased more exercises ( including Tom Platz hack squats style and walking leg lunges) and my quads responded and got bigger BUT last week I did basically the same thing with less response. So every now and then would probably work cause it causes the muscle shocking principle into new growth but the muscles are instantly and incredibly adaptive.

    • @whitecrane542
      @whitecrane542 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zeno4538 Exactly right ! Arms recover about faster than any other muscle and the biceps are usually the fastest.

      @@whitecrane542 yeah i wonder if training bicepts every day would actually work

    • @trn1446
      @trn1446 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zeno4538 I don't think training them every day would be optimal, maybe with 48 hours of rest between workouts it could be done but it really depends on the person and how you eat, sleep, and how much volume you did in that training day. If you ate well (enough for recovery), slept at least 8 hours and did moderate volume, i think recovery can be fast enough for you to be able to work it out again. But again, it depends largely on the person, some people, even eating and sleeping enough won't be able to recover that fast, while someone else might be able to.

    @rasmusmortensen4756 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One question; When you lift your butt doing leg press - aint that bad for lower back? Its like bending over too much doing squat? No?

    • @ConTuber1
      @ConTuber1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your spine moving under load isn't bad for it. Obviously the magnitude of loading has to be appropriate as it does with every body part but there's nothing special about the spine in that regard.
      However, if your back is moving so much that it becomes fatigued to the point of being the limiting factor, that can make the exercise less efficiently stimulative for the legs.

    • @rasmusmortensen4756
      @rasmusmortensen4756 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ConTuber1 Would you personally recommed it? I would never. People always goes very heavy with a lot of weight on the leg press. If you search on YT or google they tell your not to lower the weight so much that your butt lifts. I personally did hurt my self doing it because I wanted full range of motion.
      This is just one video; th-cam.com/users/shortsahaJTts1f3s
      But I could easily find 10 links more who tell your not to do this. I know Nick Walker is a top bodybuilder but Ronnie Coleman fucked his back up too. Be careful man :D

    • @rasmusmortensen4756
      @rasmusmortensen4756 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ConTuber1 Video of Ronnie Coleman; He did not lift his butt on leg pres but I get it with Coleman - it properly wasn't bad technique - more the constant stress and load of heavy weights. Bodybuilding is a bit crazy
      I guess Nick Walker has a proper weight - but it hurts my spine looking at him lifting his butt
      th-cam.com/video/ue92z73K_TA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=jackspartaco

    • @ConTuber1
      @ConTuber1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rasmusmortensen4756 I wouldn't tell someone to do it but I wouldn't consider it a bit of spinal flexion a significant concern either. Just use an appropriate load for a given technique like literally every exercise. If you get hurt, you were unprepared for the load that you used - it's not the movement itself that's injurious. My concern would be how it affects the stimulus to fatigue ratio of the exercise in relation to it's assigned purpose like I explained in my last comment briefly - if your back is fatigueing and limiting the proximity to failure of your quads, reduce the spinal flexion more.

    • @rasmusmortensen4756
      @rasmusmortensen4756 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ConTuber1 I quickly watched 4 videos on leg press @ youtube. They all say the same thing: Do not lift your butt - it will put too much pressure on your lower back (spine concern)
      An appropriate load in that case would be by doing light weights which won't make your legs grow.
      Now I don't if you have an education in fitness - I dont. If just wonder why Nick Walker is doing it this way but from my experience by watching/reading/doing it my self - its a 'no go'. Thanks for the debate
