Your channel deserves millions of subs. I have not seen a single video from you that was not incredibly well done and informative. Glory to God for using you to get out such good information in a wonderful brief format 🙏🏻
As a new catechumen in the Orthodox Church, these videos are always so educational and get me prepared for the services I attend. Appreciate the hard work! Glory to God! ☦️
I think it was Isaac the Syrian who said " Orhodoxy is like a bottomless well and no.matter where you are in it you are at the beginning" Your vids make me realise i just have my toe in the water ! From an OC in Japan.
Nmorris, ☦💝📿💝☦, do you ever get to visit Nikolairo in Tokyo? A dear, now reposed, Japanese friend of mine, went there with a friend after WWII, to hear the choir, during a Divine Liturgy. They were prtnsts. She was convinced that she heard the angels singing, and never left. Met an American military guy of Ukrainian descent and married and eventually lived in Hawaii, until she moved to the US after his repose, to be with her daughter. [She and Elder Ephraim of AZ, were dear friends. He used to stay in their home.. Her daughter said that they were about the same height!] Memory Eternal!
@@lindaphillips4646 I was in Nikolaido last Sunday although I usually attend a Romanian church. I did tell your story to a close elderly friend who has been at Nikolaido all of her life (originally Georgian) whose niece is in Hawaii. If you want to share your friend's name I will ask - she more than likely knows her. Metropolitan Daniel reposed about 8 months ago - he has been at Nikolaido since the 50's and would also have known your friend. Nikolaido has a fascinating history, besides the mazing stories of St Nichols opening so many churches in Japan but also from around the war years when many White Russians came from Manchuria. Unfortunately Orthodoxy in Japan has wained since then with less than .1% being OC. That said, Japanese culture has many christian values which we sadly no longer see in the west, such as humility.
@@nmorissoh, thank you, for this wonderful response. Such sites as this open us to the world. One never knows who might respond. [THANK YOU, PATRISTIX!!] The lovely lady was the mother of someone who worked in London for something my husband was Dean of in the States.. I saw her only a few times after she moved here when she and her daughter and son-in-law came to church where we were. BUT i loved every moment with her. And i have learned amazing stories about her in this last year. I can ask her daughter the last name. And her Japanese name. I cannot think of her Japanese name. (Which i find strange. ), but her Orthodox name was Anna, and i only learned that last year after her repose. And that has become the name i use and think of now. I think the last name started with Danko... something. I'm sorry i can't be more helpful.. I will forward this to her daughter .. My husband also oversaw something in Japan, so we went together a few times and he went at least once a year.. We became Orthodox in those years, and one of the joys of my life was to attend a Divine Liturgy in Nikolaido. I agree with you about the qualities of Japanese that are lacking in our culture. I will probably fall asleep tonight thinking about the joys of having made those trips to Japan. Thank you.
The Lord bless you as this channel helps me not only in the beautiful of your videos, but being a newly illumined Orthodox Christian, I gladly walk alongside this videos to give me enough information to be amazed at the depth of the theology in the hymnography and iconography of the church. God bless!
Every one of your vidioes is such high quality tone. It necessitates sitting by a fire with a nice cup of tea. Keep up the hard work it will pay off Glory to God

You present material with, not only seemingly intimate knowledge of our faith, but belief. Are/were you or your brother educated in a theological institute? How did you arrive at this understanding? Your podcast have now become a part of our daily routine. Thank you.
It seems to me that there are mostly icons of individuals and icons of events--perhaps there are more I'm unaware of. Are there official names of the different types of groups of icons?
For some reason the whole video made me cry. Beautiful. Thank you. A question I always ask myself when I see icons, why don't angels have beards? and their faces look like women?
Does anyone else find the background music distracting? What is wrong with me? PATRISTIX.. Thank you for this video despite my adverse reaction to the music.

Yes. I find the female voice oooohhhhhing through the background very distracting. Not all the music used in this one is distracting to me.
I thought it was beautiful 🤣
