  • You don’t come to Death Valley because abundant life flourishes here. Which is exactly why an oasis in the middle of it is so special. Only here can you stroll among lush date palms, float the day away in one of our spring fed pools or disappear into the exhilarating landscape of one of America’s largest national parks, and still return in time for a memorable dinner - and a sunset you’ll never forget. Only here will you find two distinct hotel experiences - the Historic Four-Diamond Inn at Death Valley, completely renovated with the look and feel of a 1920’s inn, but the amenities and details expected by the modern upscale traveler. Or the family friendly Ranch at Death Valley - perfect for all types of adventurers. Only here will you find a one-of-a-kind resort, within a one-of-a-kind oasis, within a one-of-a-kind national park, sure to give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Welcome to the Oasis at Death Valley - North America’s only true desert oasis.

@@PaulaJBean Comapny housing is mandatory to work at most locations, including Death Valley and all of Yellowstone. That housing is a hotel room sized room you'll share with 2 to 3 other adults. You'll be charged $100 or more a week for that privilege, bringing your earnings BELOW minimum wage in California or Wyoming. You'll be fed barely edible slop in employee dining, and not permitted to cook in company housing. You'll get no benefits and either get less than 15 hours a week or be laid off entirely during slow seasons.
Other than that, no, nothing wrong with Xanterra.

If I recall 1993-94 it was still a nation monument not national park, Fred Harvey company ran the place. July 4th weekend 1994 it was 128° for four days. That temp was broken last year at 130°

makes no sense to have a golf course built on the aquifer water. You might as well grow date and pomegranate tress which will prevent the loss of water into the atmosphere and also get fruits.
