    Considering Mandalore's long history of warmongering, the most well-known being the Mandalorian Wars, you can somewhat see why the Empire, a dictatorship obsessed with control, would see them as a threat that had to be put down.

      No you can't see the reason. Msndslore is tiny and controls barely any systems. Not in a million years could they challenge the empire. At worst they'd be a hedgehog with spike not letting the emorie get close, but effectively they are just a cute inconvenience.

      The Liberation of Lothal had the inconvenience of transpiring within 0 BBY. At the very least, only a few standard months before the Rebel Alliance themselves escalated the Galactic Civil War into open conflict at the Battle of Scarif.
      The Imperials likely had their head swayed to deal with an increasing powerful and unified insurgency. After the loss of the Death Star, it's even more likely that the Imperial Military focused their efforts on hunting the Alliance, and not on punitive measures against existing worlds.
      In addition, Lothal still possessed various Imperial assets and their population were a non-issue.

      In Ahsoka, it’s said that the Night of a Thousand Tears and the deaths of Clan Wren happened near the end of the Galactic Civil War. I think it’s extremely likely this event was part of Operation Cinder, supported by Gideon being ISB. So the timeline of events is likely after the deaths of Gar and Tiber Saxon, the Empire appointed their own governor for the sector, aka a Moff, to further exert their own will on Mandalore and other Mandalorian worlds. The fighting likely continued for years until after the Battle of Endor where Operation Cinder began. Bo Katan’s mandalorians were likely extremely exhausted and so were looking for an end to conflict. So she surrenders the Darksaber to Gideon, and of course he betrays her and bombs Mandalore, ending the conflict.

  • @midgetydeath

    Two reasons. First, the writers know nothing of Mandalorian history or else the idea the Empire wouldn't get curbstomped by the Mandalorians is genuinely laughable. Second, the Empire was scared shitless of the Mandalorians. But, seriously, they've been growing for thousands of years without really being depopulated by any events, unlike everyone else, and mostly keeping their technology and advancing it, also unlike everyone else. It is genuinely not possible for the Empire to beat them. It lacks an army of Force users, it has no Revan, and the Mandalorians would be quickly joined by countless other sectors and systems rising up to fight with them. Pissing them off would immediately doom the Empire to complete destruction in like, a year.

      @pupulauls 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That is completely untrue. Not only had Mandalore Space been beating itself to death for the majority of those thousands of years, but it was taken over by Maul after a short peace and then invaded by the Republic and Bo Katan. This made it extremely easy for the Empire to exert control over it as they had literally just occupied it like a day before the formation of the Empire. The Empire still had an astronomical advantage over Mandalorians (ie a whole galaxy of resources versus a small portion of space, no matter how skilled Mandalorians were) , who had been fighting with each other endlessly anyway.
