    ,,,,,On a Saturday night back in 96 or 97 we harley bikers were invited to the Hoboken Motor Cycle Club for a benefit party........I only remember this by the year in the story.....I saw a steam loco with all those special passenger cars go by the clubs property.......I was shocked....The first time I heard a steam loco was when I was 2 years old [ my mom told me the story,,],,,as I was born in 1951.......I sure hope I can buy a dvd of this,,,,The best video ever made of big steam locomotion,,,,,,Love that young man yankin on the steam whistle........Many videos have real old guys operating the engine,,,,and they just don't have the spirit of YOUTH........Thanks Iron Horse Enterprises.... .....

    this train ran through my town (Tuxedo) in 97 headed for port jervis, it shook our house a 1/2 mile away, amazing memory.

    I still can't believe a steam locomotive as big as this ran in Florida on the family lines safety express in 1981

      Fun fact, 614 is the engine you’re thinking about. It was put into a white lettered and numbered version of its Chessie System livery and lettered for the Family Lines for those runs before heading back up onto Chessie System rails and getting put back into the more C&O style gold lettered and numbered Chessie System livery.

    WHAT AN ABSOLUTE BEAST ! And to think she rests in green up in VA. Waiting for the next restoration I hope. This locomotive deserved a better fate than being stuffed and mounted , fires cold.

    Ah yes watching my favorite locomotive in action it also ran in my home (witch is Hoboken) and my dad was lucky to ride it and take some film of it but I wish it kept running in NJ

    The only 4-8-4 that can do 125 mph without breaking a sweat. Love this engine ❤

    I want this big steam locomotive to run again so bad so that way I can record it in operation with my iOS devices and I’ll bet that would be a lot of fun

      I wonder if their any steam locomotives that burn clean and unpolluted fuel?

      @@artismbyjoey779 The steam locomotives that run in the grand canyon national park run solely on vegetable oil, which is much cleaner than coal

      @@artismbyjoey779 Nah, the reason the one in the Grand Canyon was converted was because Arizona law had banned coal burning in the state. To prevent losing the steam program they converted their locomotives to burn veggie oil. The engines run less frequently as a result since it take a while to get enough veggie juice from the local restaurants to actually fill them up. The 844 however has been converted to oil, which isn’t as bad as straight coal

      @@kiwianimationssolomonsharp6250 The Grand Canyon Railway hasn’t ever used coal for their engines. They’ve always either used fuel oil, diesel after setting their steamers up for it, or the recycled vegetable oil that they use nowadays.
