i love it all, exept for the tang my man, it needs to be wider if you are going to put a hole in it. especially if you drift the hole in, it could cause a small stress fracture in the steel and cause it to be weak where that is. plus, with a cleaver, if there is any shock from impact, it could cause the pin to vibrate and add stress to the contact points in the tang. not a bad knife though, I love the design and I appreciate the work you have put in, the tang just worries me. keep up the good work! also, the temper on your knife is a bit... questionable. in order to get the correct crystal latus structure in your steel, you need to heat it up to a forging temperature, at least on the blade, and then submerge the entire thing in water at once. a good way to check if your steel is ready is to take a strong magnet and hold it to the edge. if the magnet does not stick anymore, the blade is ready to quench. after you do this, the metal will be very hard, but brittle. in order to make it less brittle, put it back in the fire until it turns a light straw or bronze color throughout. this will result in a hard, strong, springy knife that holds an edge well. i hope you take my recommendations into account, and I encourage you to keep building and tinkering. you have talent, and it should be put to good use. again, im not bashing your build in any way, im just sharing what i know :)

Looks like a piece of structural steel. I would like to see it in use. But I wouldn't have put a cylindrical handle on that can cause rolling when chopping

Excelent job..beautifull knife..note 10
Great work, it was a pleasure watching.
Aren't you suppose to quench it in oil and then temper it after forging? What does quenching eged in water do? Hardens it?
I usually quenching only eged with water is faster. Thank you for your visit and support.
Quenching in oil is much safer, but you can do it in water but I would never.

Its a piece of leaf spring used in truck suspension
It’s obviously a truck spring. You have not seen the Asian tools, most of which have round handles. Besides the gravity effect of the large blade.
