He didn't for "that" live show for Black Sabbath in the mid 80's, he was in a very bad place at that time as he has admitted. Other than that, what a singer, he's phenomenal.
Its really impressive one man keeping your voice incredible for five decades and always singing better and your energetic performances playing still bass like no other sincerelly him the most perfect example of vitality force and spirit of rock 🎸 Long live for Mr Glenn Hughes and burn the stage man
Waw. Amazing having that wide voice range at his age. Gillan lost that range over the years, but Hughes keep it perfectly until now. This man is like a god.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah! Glenn Hughes, YOU ROCK! Your voice is amazing, you can really hit those note's higher and higher, I love it! And your bass playing is soooooooooo AWESOME! STILL, YOU ROCK!
Props to drummer for doing an amazing job following the incomparable Ian Paice on this classic - very few have even come close - he has a great snare technique and drives the beat hard🤘🏻
I saw Glenn two weeks ago here in Germany, performing on an open air stage in the mountains amidst rocks and trees. It's been raining all day and it was so cold Glenn could see his own breath. He seemed to be amused and was firing on all cylinders as did the rest of the band. What an impressive performance it was!
I mean I think that of every rock star with the exception of Roger Daltrey, but even then Glenn sounds more like past Glenn than Roger sounds like past Roger.
Geddy dropped an octave on purpose because he knew he couldn't hold that range from Hemispheres. Seemed to pay off for him. Guys like Plant sound absolutely worn out.
It's amazing that, in his late 60's, Glenn can can still sing the high notes with such power. That is rare! I can think of only a small group of Rock singers who held onto their voice past 60. (Halford, Jon Anderson, Hughes, maybe two others?)
He was the first election of Mr. Blackmore for the ultimate Rainbow ...but Ritchie only wants him as a bassist, then Glenn leave, 'cause he's a complete package as bassist / singer !!! Well done, Mr. Hughes 👏👏👏😎👍
Just watched the documentary where you talk about the end of deep purple with Tommy bolin.and drug addiction. I must say it was rather inspiring. Although I've grown out of my dp phase I still enjoy the last 2 dp lineups with you in them. Glad to see you still jamming and off drugs.
This gives us an idea of how Purple could have sounded as a four piece. Jon Lord said it crossed their minds, but Ritchie wanted a blues singer. In truth by Come Taste The Band David was becoming more and more redundant, having to leave the stage several times a night while Glenn and Tommy did their thing. I'd like to hear the guitarist play both Ritchie's and Tommy's melodies during the solo as both are beautiful. The organist here does a good job as does the drummer. For some time now I've thought the current Purple would sound better with Hughes replacing Gillan with Roger on bass. RIP Jon and Tommy.
He is the sound of Burn, there's no other "you know we had no time" like him
"You know we had no TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!
Hell yeah!!!! No time
Agreed!
Glenn is such Under-appreciated singer who always delivers. The best vocal is metal:hard rock scene.

@@Grandmastergav86 He had dried blood in his throat.
And a great bass player as well
Glenn is 68 years young, still kicking ass and showing the youngsters how its done!
Agree 100%

god damn right. living legend. stands miles above everyone from his generation who are still doing it. an actual, legitimate Rock God.
The man is unreal
Glad that Glen grew his hair back out to the original 70's style, it / he rocks !
Doesn't matter if it's Deep Purple, Rainbow or Trapeze, Hughes is a fucking vocal beast!!
One of the most kickass songs in the history of rock n' roll and this youngsters do nothing but bop their heads a little. C'MON, HAVE SOME FUN!

Glenn is legend...the voice...
It's amazing at his age that he still has a voice most singers have blown out their vocal cords by now he still has a great range
Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah! Glenn Hughes, YOU ROCK! Your voice is amazing, you can really hit those note's higher and higher, I love it! And your bass playing is soooooooooo AWESOME! STILL, YOU ROCK!
Wow ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The VOICE of Rock truly I tell you when I say there is no other !
Hughes sounds awesome and so great to see 70's rocker still looking like a rocker.
Hell yeah! Glenn was a bad ass in the 70s. Thank God he grew his hair long again, this is how a rockstar looks like!
3:12 His voice hasn't changed in 45 years, goosebumps...
Wow... pure English Violet Psychedelic Rock and Roll. Makes me want to pull out my Deep Purple record collection and chill on a Saturday.
Holy crap. What a vocal Glenn Hughes has!🎙️
Great performance as always from one of best world's rock singer/bass player, playing one of coolest Rock songs ever.
Glenn, you have given me hope through your music for so many years.
Excellent version with Glenn Hughes handling ALL the vocal duties. Must've been an amazing concert!
I swear he has the voice of an angel. Sounds the same as he did back in 1973
Glenn still has it !

You're absolutely great, Mister Hughes! Love and respect from Russia!
Glen ..Your amazing
Probably my favourite purple tune from around that time.. 🤔
Remember.... 1974.... So fun, so good 😍
Really special Music !!! 💜
Singing on key and playing those monstrous ass bass lines is enough of a job in and of its self!!! Go Glen Baby Huey!

It’s amazing that Hughes has been able to maintain his vocal range as he’s gotten older. I think of Geddy Lee who seemed to have lost his top octaves.
Not just his voice, but that epic hair. For most of us that's history by 40.
It's amazing that, in his late 60's, Glenn can can still sing the high notes with such power. That is rare! I can think of only a small group of Rock singers who held onto their voice past 60. (Halford, Jon Anderson, Hughes, maybe two others?)
Paul McCartney held on too. He's now starting to struggle with certain high notes in live environments, but then again he's 77.
Dio too, he was even able to do it while dealing with cancer
Also, don't forget Steven Tyler. He can still sing all the extremely high notes from the 70s, 80s, or 90s.
I love his voice!
Holy s**t!! The man’s still got it...and rocking it hard. Vocals are so on-point. Love ya, Glenn.
Wow he sounds great at his age, holy shit
He is nothing but the best, awesome.

He's Still Got it!
Nice job. Great vocals and tough hitting some kind of a range and yet pull off the high notes! Band sounds great.
Glenn Hughes, αυτή η υπέροχη φωνή συνεχίζει να μαγεύει.

Very cool- I live in Toronto - I was out of town on this day - sorry I missed this awesome show
First saw Trapeze 3 piece at JB's in Dudley, what a great band Glenn✌
Jb's sadley missed
This entire band is playing to perfection!!!! Glenn should get Blackmore to join his band!! That would be amazing!!
So all these years later and Glenn can still sing better than Coverdale!
Glenn sings fcukin brilliantly considering his age 👏👏
@@charliemckeever3192 He ALWAYS did sing brilliantly. ;)
@@charliemckeever3192 and sorry for this, but meanwhiles better than Ian....

Better than today's Purple
Hughes is 6 to 7 years younger than Gillan, Glover and Paice. also Airey. Only Morse has the same or nearly age than Hughes.
@@alecdq7623 Gillian's voice has been shot since before 1990. But Gillian really brought it like no other on Black Sabbath Born Again record.
@@alecdq7623 Yeah, but 6, 7 years ago Gillan couldn't do what Glenn does today. In fact, Gillans voice has been shot for 16 or 17 years - at least...
Shades of California Jam. F*ckin' awesome!
Superb!
Woohooo! See you in Recife!
Uhul !! I will go to Rio de Janeiro concert !! Thanks lord.... : )
HECK YES!
