This was helpful to me. I'm currently going through the safety and stabilization-part and it's hard. My therapist told me it will take years. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end. Thank you.

THANK YOU so much for this. I would like to know where to start on my own? CPtsd have caused me landing up in a shelter environment and survival assisted in getting as much done building a wooden hut into a home and to heal from this. In our country governmental support is zero to none and I am merely surviving .. with not 1 individual who understands my mental health or anxiety disorders. Is there talk therapy rooms where I can reach out and start my complete healing journey?

I don't know of any resources such as talk therapy rooms, but I would recommend self help books. One to start with is Waking the Tiger by Peter Levine.

How are we supposed to know what modalities work with both the bottom and top of the brain? Thank you

Great question. I encourage professionals to ask questions of the trainer and other professionals who are already trained in the modality of interest to learn more about how that modality works with the brain.

So is complex trauma different to ptsd? And in what way?

    • @thetraumatreatmentcollecti859

One way I like to think about it is complex trauma as a category of trauma PTSD as the symptoms that can develop from unprocessed trauma. Hope that is helpful.

Complex trauma definition of you is not correct. in many cases. Complex trauma happens to an HSP who gets traumatised again and again by little events in life due to the sensitive nature. Refugee example is correct but it happens often to HSPS.

It would have been good to list different modalities & also those that work for the bottom & those that work for the top of the brain. This video left too many questions.

I am sorry you didn't get what you are looking for. There are so many good modalities out there, I didn't want to get into listing and leaving any out. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a platypus brain. When I am traumatized, I enjoy paddling in the pond and laying an egg. When I am fine, I go back to my human brain and still paddle and lay eggs. I'm confused.
