This would be so amazing integrated into trauma informed health care in pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Seems like it bridges the gaps between the mental, emotional and physical experiences
I'm just beginning to learn about somatic work, and introducing it to our agency for better understanding (we don't provide therapy, but it's good to be informed). This is a very clear explanation to help reinforce that everyone's understanding is on the same page, thank you!
You are so welcome. Glad you found it helpful!
I'm just at the beginning of training but due to personal experience I am fascinated by somatic work in therapy and I find your video being very clear and helpful. Could you recommend a few books/articles about psychosomatic approach? Much appreciated.
I'm a patient in somatic therapy since about August, I'm not opening up easily as much as I'd like to even though I feel like my therapist is basically me but with a counselor degree instead of community health degree
That's so much. I've been trying to find a clear explanation about this for a few days and you nailed it. You're really good at explaining things.
Glad it helped!
You always provide a lot of insight and new strategies I can use now that I have been working as a Behavioral Health Clinician serving women who have been trafficked, encoutntered other sexual exploitation experiences including DV, homelessness, SRA, DID, Depression and other co-occuring diagnosis and symptoms. You were one of my favorite informative supervisors and I a forever grateful for you Nina. Thank you for everything.
Thanks for the kind words Cheryl.
