I think Nilaus was clapping to point out a mistake in his words he wanted to make it obvious i the audio in post edit that he needs to remove a couple seconds of audio. The clapping would show up in the audio track. He must have not noticed it.
I can never get my head around it. Dreading the end game. My base is poor. Thanks for the tips. This is very useful. None of my friends play this. I wish more people did.
Besides rotating you can mirror it no problem of course. And if you don't mind using some undergroundies you can put in another green circuit belt through the sulphuric acid side pipes open space, so you can extend to a third part above it if you snake that in which should be doable ? For the left build that is. Still not great, but it's something to use more length if you want. If you pipe in the Sulphuric Acid from the top you can shift the beacon to the left, use undergroundies to skip it, add another beacon next to it, you can actually do tha same at the top, and voila, you reach a full belt with this many tiled for sure.
Perfect timing! I have recently reactivated an older Mega base and added some green + red production sites, with the next step obviously being a blue production site. I guess I'll use your new design instead of the max-upgrade on the previous one, as it reuses the beacons better.
If you interweave the underground pipes and underground belts on the same line, there is enough room, as long as the pipes are offset from the assemblers and the one set of underground pipes feeds two assemblers
I ran some local tests and there seems to be an unexpected bottleneck? The far lane of the green circuits belt stops every 2 or 3 seconds for just a couple ticks, which they shouldn't, considering this build is supposed to consume 90.5/s. If I add an extra blue inserter (on each machine) to help, and rearrange the poles, that bottleneck is gone. I really like the build though! Very compact, very tileable. Way better than all my past 6 or so attempts (though I never really understood why beacons were worth it until very recently).
Nice build. This will produce just under a full blue belt, about 44.345 / sec. You should also be able to easily balance it to a single output belt. Split the middle belt, then a series of 2-1 T junctions. I've looked a lot, and there is not a good 12 beacon build for blue circuits, nor do I think it would work well. My build produces 1 full blue belt, but it is does not tile as it brings down the extra green circuit belts and acid outside the beacons.
How does this compare to just doing a bunch of single assemblers surrounded by 12 beacons? You can do 4 assembler blocks to boost beacon efficiency but it seems like the less painful method to me.
I noticed one interesting thing, we can use 3 belts in the same line, as long as they are all underground, and yellow, red and blue. That means that we can have 15+30+45=90 items/s throughput which is equal to 2 blue belts. Can it be used here to deliver green circuits? I may be a bit chaotic XD
Hey, loved the video, i was wondering what mods are u using to know the inputs and outputs, so i can start esigning myself in creative mode without the online calculator, keep it up, love your content
What's the deal with consuming 90.5? Some machines will stall once every while. What's the reason for going for this instead of aiming for 89.5 (as an example)
What if I told you you could consume 2 green belts with 8 assemblers with no gaps between the assemblers, ie it is using only 11 beacons per row instead of 12? Also the 3rd assembler from the top seems to stop a lot. Other assemblers too. You may need more inserters or feed them better. Finally it is a good idea to attach the blue circuits to your green production. That way you can get rid of a lot of infrastructure.
share the blueprint in the Discord then ;) I don't agree on linking Green and Blue together. I rather want them separate so the greens can be used for other stuff if needed
@@Nilaus That's interesting to hear you say, because in your death world series you made production for 8 green belts and took 4 directly to blue, just with long belts because your blue was far away. Did not see anything else using those 4 lanes. Also are you really suggesting to build your base with the intent for your machines to not work or starving green when they do work? I can give you picture: i.imgur.com/kwcmNir.png
Yo what the hell is that mod he's using that allows him to select buildings and it determines the input and output values???!!!!!!!! I WANT THAT . 4:16
4 green inserters obviously cannot pick up whole blue belt, so overall performance of this build is slightly less than rate calculator shows. Or there should be more inserters on greens side.
3rd assembler from the top stops a lot because of lack of greens. Other assemblers also stop a little. 4 inserters could clear a belt, but not if having to deal with holes and jumping between lanes.
@@Hedning1390 yes, they would, but holes and lane switching is inevitable in this case. So sometimes assemblers would stuck without greens, and sometimes belt would stuck with too much greens. Two green inserters per assembler would handle blue belt without pauses, but build would be somewhat overcomplicated.
@@Felinaro I don't know why you say it would be overcomplicated. In your original post you seem to suggest he put more inserters on. That's the correct way to fix it imo. I would never let the inserter be the bottleneck. That makes throughput unpredictable. Have you test run his design? I wouldn't be surprised if the efficiency is lowered by 20%. In any case I think this is a good example of another reason why you shouldn't take other people's designs, because you have no idea if they actually verified it.
Really good design but I’m struggling to work out how I get like 45 on a belt, I need so many green circuits it’s crazy! Like 600+ green circuits a second 😆😂🙈

great video and really appreciate that loud clap at the beginning :)
