Thank you Malcolm! Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it was only a short pit stop on my drive over towards North Devon, but I was so pleased to have captured a little of the WSR's steam gala. Take care, Paul
Such a beautiful and quaint little station. If nothing else, a place where one could just sit and take in the sights and sounds. Perfect. Thank you Paul.👍👍
Thank you Daryl! Glad you enjoyed it. This is a real credit to the volunteers at Crowcombe Heathfield Station. Places like this where you can really hear nature are becoming rarer! Cheers, Paul
Thank you Jesse! Yes, it is nice and quiet at this station, so it is good to be able to capture the natural sounds. I really like the WSR - hope to return soon to do a longer video from here. Take care, Paul
Hello Paul - greetings from Poland A fabullus video. Very atmospheric. Superb format without any commentary. Just felt like yesteryear. All that was missing were all the different smells.
Thank you Michael! Glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting a steam double header! Lovely station here, and a credit to the volunteers who look after it. Thanks so much! Take care, Paul
Some really beautiful shots and sounds here, Paul. The Steam Gala looks like a great event. I really enjoyed watching the train with the cars for transporting goods coming in.
Thank you Donna! Yes, because this lovely station is sited well away from roads, it is great that you can just listen to nature 🐦 in between the trains. I had actually forgotten that the gala was on; it was just an impromptu stop on the way to where I was staying on holiday. Thanks so much 😊 Paul
Thank you Watto! As you know, I like to do different formats on my channel. I do like doing acoustic sounds only sometimes, if the conditions and subject fit. This was a quick stop gap video to film (but a heck of a lot longer to edit!!) en route to North Devon. Cheers! Paul
Thank you Roy! Yes, the audio editing on this took a lot longer than the visuals! Always tricky getting the sounds of steam trains right. Cheers Roy! Hope you have a brilliant weekend. Paul
Brilliant! This film should win competitions! Something managed to place you at the right spot at the right time! A double header & a goods train meeting at Crowcombe. Apparently they were giving rides in that guard’s van to enthusiasts - only so many a time - as it is so unusual for a heritage railway to run goods traffic. Beautifully filmed( & edited) Thanks.
Thank you Diana! Yes, it was a bit fortuitous being here just at the right time. Not often, as you say, you get to see a double header and a steam train freight! Thanks so much! Paul
Thanks Jim! Yes, I think it was all because of the steam gala, which was held over three days (I think the following day too because it was a bank holiday). A lot of horsepower there for sure! Cheers, Paul
Hi Paul, The sound was simply superb on this one (not because you werent speaking mind😁😁). It looked like Witherslack Hall was struggling for steam on the way into the platform but maybe there was just no need for it to be making effort. Very enjoyable to watch, well done, have a great weekend!!
Thank you David! Sorry, I have been editing and researching for tomorrow's shoot. Yes, this one was a bit of happenstance. I had forgotten that the gala was on, and I was very surprised when I saw a double headed steam train! And then another (a goods train - rare on heritage lines) almost immediately afterwards. It was a magical few moments that I was lucky to capture. Hope you have a good weekend too! Paul
A symphony of steam and nature. Well done - and thank you.
Thank you Malcolm!
Glad you enjoyed it.

That was delightful, lovely to hear the sounds around you.
Thank you Faith!
Glad you enjoyed it - I was so lucky to have seen this.

Lovely!
Thanks Michael!
Got to love the West Somerset Railway, love how you captured just being there with all the wonderful natural sounds!
Thank you Jesse!

That was a really lovely video Paul. A bygone era sadly 🥺
Thank you Phil!
Yes, this station is lovingly cared for, and it really is like going back in time to a different age.
Take care,
Paul
well that was atmospheric Paul. Love the format. Really feels as if I was there.. Top work.

Love the nature sounds of birds...and then the announcement of steam arriving - well done, Kind Regards Elizabeth
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it.
All the Best,
Paul
Looked great, Paul. I was surprised to see two big engines in tandem just to pull five carriages, but I'm sure there was a good reason.
Thanks Jim!
