It's so nice to hear you guys complimenting New so much, he's kinda underrated in the international side of the fandom :( Let's pray that their new company allows him to shine even more because he could be such a huge stan attractor as he went viral countless time but people hardly know he's from The Boyz
@@pushumonster yeah when I first got into them it was hard finding i-deobis who also biased chanhee on twitter but there’s a lot of big k-accounts dedicated to him so the contrast is kinda weird 😭
"Maverick" was actually based on a Japanese novel/movie called "Battle Royale". In the story, the world is messed up and a class are randomly chosen by the government to compete against each other to the death. They are dr*gged and taken to an island to fight, explosive collars around their necks in case they try to escape. The students were labeled by number for male and female. Each student is given a backpack with basic supplies to survive a few days as well as a random "weapon". Some weapons are actual weapons like a gun or machete; but other kids got things like a pot lid or binoculars. Only one student can survive and go home. It was written by a man who have lived during WW2 and his class was forced to work at a factory. One day during the war, it was attacked and the students tried to dive under each other to survive. The grown ups made the survivors dispose of the bodies of their peers, and the author felt hatred for adults. That's why he wrote a book based on the adults forcing children to be in a "kill or be killed" situation; and he was coined for starting the battle royale genre that inspired other stories like "Hunger Games". You can see some of their weapons in the MV - Haknyeon with a pencil, Chanhee was a bow, Jacob with a bazooka, Sangyeon with a gas mask. They also all have numbers on them and collars. It's lore that Eric was the survivor because he fell asleep somewhere while everyone else died.
I'm so SO glad you watched Drink It becuse it's one of their best songs and definitely my favorite music video and it kills me that it wasnt like, a main official release single. Honestly some of their OSTs and concept films and one off stuff like this is the Boyz at their best. The catholic vampire blood seduction of it all ...insane
Just to clear things up: Drink it was a release for a content platform that no longer exists, that’s why it’s not on their channel. The platform had different concepts for the groups on it and they happen to get vampire:)
Yes it was for the Universe platform same with Sweet. It still bugs me that the HD version of Sweet is now privated & the reuploaded one on The Boyz channel has pixelized artifacts on many parts. It’s annoying since I watch TH-cam mostly on our large screen smart tv.
fun fact! The last scene of Juyeon's breaking dawn part was actually a lot more sexier but the director told them that was too 18+ rated so they retake & use this ver instead😂
Drink It was for the Universe app, along with Sweet. Such a crime how long it took for them to finally be allowed on TH-cam. Universe finally shut down.
TBZ performed Breaking Dawn on their world tour! Never thought I’d get to see it performed live! Also, when TBZ performed Maverick at KCON LA 2022, the entire arena went insane. Truly meant to be seen live!
This is a dangerous combination of songs lmao, also I’ve literally been waiting for y’all to get to Maverick since the first TBZ reaction ahahahah its too good Also why is the Keira Knightley thing lowkey true omg
About the story in Drink it, it's inspired in Interview with the Vampire. Basically, Younghoon befriends a group of vampires and they're torn because they want to turn him so he stays with them forever, or letting him keep his humanity, so the lyrics imply they're leaving that choice to him but in the MV Younghoon is also torn between the same choices. In the Universe app there was more content and the backstory of Juyeon and Hyunjae.
I've been in love with drink it ever since it came out. Also i think maverick is my favorite title track from them, and breaking dawn is definitely one of the best albums. Don't know if you dived into the boyz bsides, but really recommend this one
i'm going to spam this under every the boyz reaction you guys put out, but if you want more of breaking dawn's juyeon, but on steroids, watch their 'generation z identity film' 😜 it's one of the most iconic pieces in their videography without it being a music video. q's part in it will also kill adam, just a heads up
omg "identity film generation z" and "be your own king" are ICONIC!! they're such short videos but i'll never be able to get over them. also the comeback trailers for "Stealer" gagged me THE BOYZ truly releases the best videos out there
@@isalvim they had one of the best, in my humble opinion, production teams working on their visuals at the time. i'm pretty sure they parted ways after maverick, but that era when we had all the trailer films was top tier
Did anyone mention the fun fact the they had to get them to reshoot the last bit of Breaking Dawn with the slow camera pan down Juyeon, because Juyeon was just too sexy? So somewhere on an editors hard drive, there is a version with a sexier Juyeon. Drink It was such a good song and I hate that it was a release for an app and not their own, it made it impossible to find in full at the time. It deserved better because it was genuinely to good. The idea for the Maverick MV was based off the Japanese book and later movie Battle Royale. I never read the book, but the movie is basically a class of school kids get drugged and brought to a deserted island, and forced to fight to the death by the government. They had explosive collars, and they killed eachother, or themselves, and the last one standing after 3 days got to leave. So they have a version of the collars in the MV, and you see the weapons, the uniforms, the fight to survive, the making and breaking of alliances, THE TENSION. And like all the sad defeated crying shots while they slowly lose their humanity and then Eric alive at the end, with the message flashing for "Protect Yourself From What You Want", which to me is just a variation of be careful what you wish for. Like Eric wanted to survive, and he did, but at what cost. I loved the whole MV because I was a morbid little teenager when I saw Battle Royale and I love dystopian horror.
fun fact: hyunjae and juyeon didnt talk to eachother for like a few weeks after maverick, you cannot tell me they felt nothing
thanks for ruining my day
this is by far my favorite piece of kpop lore
I came here just to make sure someone shared this because it's simply too iconic
I remember this LMAOOOOOO that's iconic
Wait what happened? 😭😂
Wow the vampire jokes for breaking dawn just to be followed by drink it lmaoooooooo
breaking dawn as the first reaction is like setting you guys up for trouble lol

Oh no, we bow to queen Chanhee in this household!

I am dying😂 simping over breaking dawn and saying how hot everyone is and then adam going back to saying "yeah I really love the neon in this"
my brain needed to focus on anything else
@@TheAmpliverse yeah I totally get it, literally so funny love your tbz reactions so excited to watch the next one

But really TBZ played a game and Eric won so he got to be the one who survived at the end of the MV. Also, Kevin has a grenade.

crazzzzyyyyy how you mention blow during Kevin's part in thrill ride, for a time that was his fave Beyoncé song
I was so shocked the day he shared that lol

where’s the fun in that fact

Not gonna lie, my friends and I are 100% convinced the plot of Drink It is vampire TBZ 'gong bonging' human Younghoon and turning him like come on...
Breaking dawn more like breaking your back -ericsohn
oh!
FINALLY a normal and chill reaction to breaking dawn

it's so funny to me that kevin just mentioned beyonce's blow in a magazine interview that was just out and here you are mentioning it lol
Also another bunch of my favorites 😂😂. I love these boys
