I try not to clap back, I've had enough negativity in my life (and been negative enough myself). Sad people, entitled people, it's just how it is. The world, especially in the West, is not a happy place for too many.
      Thank you for the support!

@@ABetterLifePH agreed! I've dealt with the same. I'm in the West, so it's a daily thing. I'm retiring in a year and already have property in the Philippines. I'm hoping to be blessed enough to make it. You guys life there looks awesome. So calm and peaceful. I know there's the Philippine way of life elements to deal with, but it's still a good life. I can't wait until you guys are landscaping and decorating there.

@@DK-8181 I think the main thing with relocating is that the host country's problems won't be your problems the same way your native country's problems are. The Philippines isn't perfect, but I am a guest here, I don't let their issues bother me. Sweden's problems are another issue, but I am trying to put that behind me...and build a better life.
With just a year to go, you're almost here! Congratulations, I hope it goes smooth and you can simply enjoy the peace that the Philippines has to offer (if you settle away from videoke, roosters etc, ha!). Nice weather, nice people, affordable and most people here don't really care about politics, woke bs, social division etc, they have families and daily life to care about.

@@ABetterLifePH understood. I agree with everything you said except the woke comment. I don't think it's BS. Most people that think it's BS are the ones benefiting from racism. I'm not saying you're one of them but living in the West. The division and racism is strong.
Anyway, I hope foreigners don't infuse that way of thinking into the Philippines. Though I can already see some of it there.
Good luck on your build. I know you will enjoy it once you are moved in and past all the money haggling and dodging the foreigner pricing..

@@DK-8181 I'm from Europe, I can't speak much about the US (I lived there for 18 months and follow their politics, but that's about it). Division and racism wasn't an issue in Europe for a long time, until all the problems (with immigrants) started. Still today, Europe (Western Europe*) isn't racist at all. Neither is the US from what I can see (except for the left, who are wildly racist in the most vile ways). Benefiting from racism, yeah, once again: that's the left. They thrive on division and hatred, and that's part of the reason (combined with my experiences in Sweden) why I 100% hate socialism in ALL its forms. Different forms of socialism have done so much damage through its short history, it's about time people ended that disgusting ideology.
I actually don't spend a lot of time with foreigners in the Philippines, but I've met all kinds. Some bring an entitled view with them, some don't. I advice everyone to leave their baggage, come here with an open mind. Treat people with respect and you will most likely always be fine, no matter where you go.
Best of luck with your future, and I hope you manage to do what I try to do: forget about the new toxic Western way of thinking. Like Morgan Freeman said: the best way to get rid of racism is to stop talking about it (and assimilating people, not trying to integrate 20-25% of the country's population in a few decades, especially when they are people from the worst parts of the world...but enough about Sweden).

Kidding aside, no carabou we're close to the central and Lendon was sure he could do it (and he did, to his credit). We probably won't go that way again though, lol.

      Well... yeah.
We can actually get Shopee deliveries, maybe not all the way to our land, but close enough that we can have them leave it at a store at the central at least!
But yeah, that is a big con for the province. That goes for every country though, even Sweden.

@ABetterLifePH Did you have to pay your neighbors to run the electric cable across their properties our just get permission from them? Also, did you run along their property lines to limit the chances of having to move it in the future?
    Thanks

"Have to" isn't typically how it works here. Semantics, because end result is the same, but they wouldn't say no, nor give a wanted sum, but yes: we gave them a little money to put our poles on their land.
We ran the cable the way we did to both minimize cable length and make sure it's relatively safe (not in the way for traffic, not next to trees about to fall down etc).
We also gave some money to cover for banana trees we needed to clear out to be able to run the cable.
For all poles and chopping down the banana trees, it ended up something like 100 USD combined (three different land owners).
