Thank God Almighty for the knowledge and wisdom given to Pastor Skip Heitzig. I'm blessed alle the time I listen to your preaching, teaching and reading 📚
@@CalvaryABQ 3:04 CST Pastor Skip and CCA, Just recently found your Gospel Ministry on YT. Romans 9-11 “spot on!”, far and few, today, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. If I may, without being critical, offer a few points to Acts 6, for edification. The Office of Deacon(s) was instituted for all NT congregations (Jerusalem Church; Philippians 1:1; 1st Tim 3). The widows were being neglected in the “daily” ministration or daily distribution or the Lords charities. In Acts 4:34-37 (Also in Acts 2), the money was given to the Apostles (Gospel Ministers) and charity was distributed to anyone that had need. Seven Deacons to handle the “daily distribution” of the Lords money, so that not one day goes by that GOD does not look after ppl in need. The Apostles couldn’t neglect prayer and ministry of the Word to serve tables (money changers in the temple served tables). Widows need financial support (1st Tim 5:4-16). Notice that the 12 Apostles/Gospel Ministers don’t give the responsibility/stewardship of the money to other Gospel Ministers/Pastors because they are called to the same purpose “prayer and ministry of the Word”, nor do they give the money to the congregation to steward. The Holy Spirit directs this Office just as HE does the Office of Bishop/Pastor/Elder/Overseer (semantics). The Gospel Ministers (plurality of Elders/Pastors) on staff within each congregation and the congregation are to focus on worship at all times. Laying the money down, sacrificially, and letting go is worship. The Lord doesn’t need for us to pick it back up and micromanage HIS money. Acts 4:4 5k men in Jerusalem congregation I add this because “others” can never accept the Will of The Lord, today,m, as the early Church demonstrates obedience. They obeyed the Apostles doctrine(s) as prescribed (teaching them all things that I have commanded you”). Hebrews 13:8 The Lord Jesus does not change. Also, for clarity, yes Philip was an evangelist and sent by the Holy Spirit to preach (herald publicly) to Samaria and the Ethiopian in Acts 8, but having the gift of evangelism doesn’t qualify one as a Gospel Minister. When the Word of Truth, the Gospel, was accepted in Samaria, Philip could baptize converts in water but Philip could not “ordain” those men that GOD had “called” into HIS Gospel Ministry, only Gospel Ministers can affirm Heavens Will. The Gospel Ministers (Apostles) “ordained” (public laying on of hands) the Deacons. Deacons are not Gospel Ministers, they could be “called” if The Lord wills but only GOD “calls” Gospel Ministers, the Church elects the Deacons. Peter and John have to come to Samaria to “ordain” the men GOD had called to shepherd his flock at Samaria. The Holy Spirit had fallen at Pentecost and there is no more hesitation or waiting for HIM to fall on a new convert in the moment they accept Christ (Acts 8 Samaria receives the Gospel “and there was great joy in that city”, joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit). The Holy Ghost represents power. Peter and John laid hands on the new Gospel Ministers (Acts 8) and power to perform miracles was upon those Gospel Ministers. The sorcerer witnessed this and wanted the same power gifted upon him but Peter rebuked him. The sorcerer had not been “called” into the Gospel ministry and sought the extraordinary gifts for selfish desires. Peter, “ I see you have no lot in this matter….” no “calling” Just as Peter and John “ordained” Gospel Ministers so did Paul and Barnabas in Acts 14:23 and Paul, again, but alone in Acts 19; also Titus “ordained” Gospel Ministers in Titus 1:5-7 There are only two offices in the NT churches: Pastor(s) and 7 Deacons OT Elders are at Jerusalem, only, but to facilitate the NT transition. These lay elders are no longer seen in NT Scripture after the Jerusalem Church is scattered. “The Apostles Doctrine”, not the “Apostles and Elders Doctrine”. The Holy Spirit, now, resides within each member of the NT Church. Humbly submitted
Skip is a wonderful teacher. He manages to frame every verse around a modern day understanding of who, what, when, where, and why. Skip carefully describes the contemporary culture as well as their history to set the stage of understanding. I am so in awe of Skip's intelligent embrace of his students! He doesn't "dumb down" and provides a serious study approach.
I would say this sermon is LIVE ON. I remember the first time I walked into Calvary Chapel Albuquerque in July of 1989. It was a life changing event. Not just because of Skip's teaching of the Word, but the PEOPLE there. So loving and welcoming.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23 NLT “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NLT “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT “I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 NLT“After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.” Acts of the Apostles 1:9 NLT “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:1-3 NLT 😇❤️
Always so relevant even years after Skip taught this. Blessings to you brothers and sisters in 2024.

I lead a bible study in Atlanta and these sermons have been an incredible resource. Thank you for making them available
The intricacies and scrutiny this message was delivered had God's annointing in it. God bless you and your ministry Skip. AMEN.

Amen!! Love your preaching of the Word Skip. Thank you so much for your ministry
Thank you Pastor Skip Heitzig for helping me understand the Book of Acts.
It’s so cool when you just hear a sermon that’s dead on relevant to the events going on in ones life.
I love how dots are connected from all over the Bible and history to make a understandable and common sensible sermon. Great job!

Nicely done! 🙌🙌🙌
Good teaching this is the chapter where the Baptist church says they chose 7 deacons. No where in scripture does it say 7 deacons were chosen 👍🏾
If it wasn't a problem, why did the Apostles appoint 7 people to deal with it?
