Thank you Marie-Anne, this was delightful! I loved the lighter purple bag - so summery. Meanwhile, thanks for spotlighting my favourite budget-friendly retailer Uniqlo - which does basics exceptionally well. In addition to the great tshirts, Uniqlo also makes quality underwear, socks and shirts. I'm especially delighted with a blue and white striped 100% cotton shirt I recently bought. It is well made, well finished, hasn't shrunk and the hem /seams have remained as straight as they were in the store. I paid double at a higher-end retailer for a shirt whose sleeves shrunk about 4cm in the first wash (washed according to label & hung to dry!!) and has bubbled seams due to the thread shrinking at a different rate from the fabric. So, long story short - two thumbs up for Uniqlo!
I watched one of your older videos regarding the Audrey Hepburn style. Since I am petite (5'2") I love the cropped or cigarette pant style. Also because the pants fit just above my ankle. I was wondering if you would recreate a video on the Audrey Hepburn style using today's wearable fashions. Love watching all your videos!

Uniqlo is definitively one of my fav brands. I have a lot of their shirts , pulls and as someone have just said,they are long lasting regarding style and materials. They do sometimes collaborations as last year with Marni or some year ago with Marimekko. Every season they have Ines de La Fressange collection, very nice.

Although I don't wear pants, i must admit my favorite of the outfits was the one with the green t-shirt, and linen pants. Linen is always elegant, especially when made into wide leg pants.
If you have reached the osteoporosis stage in life steer clear of wide linen trousers or long flowing skirts. They can put you on the floor with a broken hip in seconds. I do love Uniqlo. I have an assortment of their casual jackets for the winter that wear well with their soft winter pants which are lately made too short for me. Turtlenecks are indestructible. The sun blocking hoodies in varied colors are a summer staple with shirts, pants and skirts! All travel well. Love that violet top! Thanks again for beautiful classic dressing.
Lighter bag is darling but I need about twice the size. I choose structured bags, solid colors, well maybe a few with DB floating around. Always get compliments when a pop of color bag is added to black/white. Red is powerful. ❤
Bonjour Marie-Anne, Once again you have illustrated how accessories really make an outfit stylish. When you first put on the floral dress, I thought, "so so", but adding the shoes changed everything and the sweater draped over your shoulders and the ivory bag just added more chic. Love it!
I'm beginning to update my wardrobe. This winter my husband past away and for the past 10+ years I was his caregiver and worked full-time. My outings were to visit family & friends. I'm starting over with my wardrobe now that I can get out more.
Uniqlo has some excellent quality clothing, without being too trendy! I have several of their classic pieces (jeans, sweaters purchased when I first discovered them in NYC in 2009). Purchased some linen shirts recently, a long with merino wool sweaters. They are a great company, and excellent price point.
Uniqlo has been a go-to brand for me as well (am Asian and the fit and sizing is perfect for me). I have a couple of t-shirts that have lasted me more than a decade. And now, my favorite pair of jeans is also a high-rise dark denim from this brand.

I love linen trousers for warm weather, and the floral dresses and skirts are so fresh and summary. The two tone shoes really added some pizzazz, and it is remarkable how a handbag can change the look of an outfit.

When you had just the white t shirt and blue/white skirt it looked so Mumsie and I thought ‘Marie-Anne, what is going on?!’ But as soon as you added the white pumps, chambray shirt and that beautiful orange handbag, it was WOW! And you’re so right about dresses being too low. Some are just ridiculous for any age. And yes I love pockets in dresses and skirts. Thankfully manufacturers are finally getting that message.

Merci, I always get so many ideas and so much inspiration from your videos. 🥰 I confess my favourite pieces from Uniqlo are their thin thermal tops & bottoms: I live in a cold climate in Quebec and they keep you warm and will fit under everyday clothes without adding any bulk. When you are standing on a train platform in -25C with strong winds you will think of them as your new best friends!🌨
Love Uniqno !! They have jeans/ pants long enough for me but still a small size, 5ft 10 inches tall size 4. I bought their linen botton downs shirts and still wear them five years later, they last as long as you hand wash and hang to dry.
I think Supima cotton is a brand name for a high-quality, US-grown pima cotton, which I love. It’s so fine and long-staple (fiber length) that is has a slight sheen and is so soft and comfortable. Cotton can be too warm for our hottest California summer days, though, so I have some linen tees as well. I never overheat in linen, woven linen just needs that extra attention, ironing, to look it’s best. But for casual activities and circumstances, it isn’t always necessary to iron linen knits. I recommend using the gentle wash cycle, then hanging to dry.
Love the tailored lines in all of the pieces you've chosen. Also, thank you for pointing out how to pair separates and accessories to look chic and not 'mumsy'.
Have just found my white silk blouse from 15yrs ago still looks good and would go with any of the outfits ..under the cashmere and over the vests and skirts
I am so happy to see you wearing Uniqlo pieces. I also love their Supina cotton t-shirts. I wear their jeggings, dark denim, black and this year a sage green. With a longer top over them they look tidy and give a nice silhouette. However, as a 54cm tall, I am a rather dumpy woman and I have to be careful what I put on the top and now have discovered a local designers blouses - they have a swing to the cut and a good short sleeve. At. 80 I love colour ( although not the Iris Apfel style) but cannot wear heels any longer so am grateful that one can wear sneakers. Josef Siebel make a relaxed style in white and black . I also have a floral top from H & M, and also Zara. It’s the matter of choosing the classic pieces I guess.

I think viscose is quite comfortable in hot weather, it’s very breathable. It can’t match linen, of course, no other fabric can. I wear mostly linen in high summer, but all that ironing that is required is a hot chore. Linen blended with viscose/rayon can be a good choice, but it doesn’t eliminate the need for ironing - a linen/rayon blend dress I got from Nordstrom, quite an expensive one, is more wrinkly than some of my 100% linen items.
A belt can make an outfit or two. Thanks to you and Alyssa Beltempo, I shopped my closet and started using my belts. They really complete a look and can take it to the next level especially if you coordinate it with your bag and shoes. I love them. I think belts are under appreciated. The right belt can be such a good value.
I think you would look chic in anything. Your hair and makeup immaculate. You are tall enough and slim enough. No unwanted bulges. Mainly though your posture is great and your confidence shines through.

(🤔Had you been wearing a white linen skirt instead, the sparkly sandals would've been super.) 😊 The bold floral dress was very flattering on you. I have a pair of identical linen pants and I love them, I do need to replace them soon as they have started to look a bit thinner. First off; always appreciate your styling savvy! Favourite garments on you today is the two patterned skirts but most of all the linen trousers with the dark t-shirt with the colored sneakers/trainers and addition of the belt with a handbag, reading to me as very casual yet stylish 'n chic.

I wear mostly linen in high summer, but all that ironing that is required is a hot chore. Linen blended with viscose/rayon can be a good choice, but it doesn’t eliminate the need for ironing - a linen/rayon blend dress I got from Nordstrom, quite an expensive one, is more wrinkly than some of my 100% linen items.

A belt can make an outfit or two. Thanks to you and Alyssa Beltempo, I shopped my closet and started using my belts. They really complete a look and can take it to the next level especially if you coordinate it with your bag and shoes. I love them. I think belts are under appreciated. The right belt can be such a good value.

😉A ribbed tank top w/stretch is a staple for me👍. Not only like 'em w/skirts, but also like pairing w/pleated trousers.
🟣The purple sweater was fresh & vibrant w/the white trousers⚪️. Preferred the lighter lavender colored bag & the sneakers to balance out the weight of those wider leg pants. (🤔Had you been wearing a white linen skirt instead, the sparkly sandals would've been super.)
😊 The bold floral dress was very flattering on you. I could only tolerate a busy 😵💫 pattern on top if I can add a solid jumper tied around neck or a blazer around my shoulders to subdue print a bit😳.
The teal tee was a good choice. I own a similar shirt that I usually wear w/my khaki tan cargo shorts & brown hiking boots🥾 for traversing our hills🌲.

I have a pair of identical linen pants and I love them, I do need to replace them soon as they have started to look a bit thinner. I also think that I need to wear lipstick on a regular basis, it brightens up your face and I think that it is a simple thing that will have a big impact.
First off; always appreciate your styling savvy! Favourite garments on you today is the two patterned skirts but most of all the linen trousers with the dark t-shirt with the colored sneakers/trainers and addition of the belt with a handbag, reading to me as very casual yet stylish 'n chic.
