Here's a huge treasure trove of the 250 best castles in Europe - according to me. If you enjoy the video, please give it a like, share it with a friend, and subscribe for more!
Hallo. Eine beeindruckende Menge an Schlössern und Burgen . Warst du in allen? Die Reichsburg Cochem hätte ich nicht in dieser Rangfolge erwartet,da sie im 19. Jahrhundert im Stil des Historismus wieder aufgebaut wurde. Platz eins freut mich natürlich, da sie in meiner Nähe steht.
Actually it's 476 AD (fall of W Rome) to 1492 (Discovery of America). But I went with a broader interpretation, taking in count which buildings look like a medieval castle. Same as with my Brutalism video... Brutalism was in vogue in the 60s to 80s, but a few Brutalist buildings were built just recently. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.
Some of these aren't medieval castles at all, but were built much later, Broadway Tower and Neuschwanstein for instance. Hohenzollern Castle was built in the 19th century on the ruins of an older castle. Castel Sant'Angelo dates back to Roman times. Windsor Castle at #115? It was quite impressive to see. I've also been to #97 Stirling Castle, #94 Bodiam Castle which is a ruin, #74 Edinburgh Castle, #63 Dover Castle, #53 Tower of London, #20 Papal Palace at Avignon (not nearly as impressive as most ranked behind it), #16 Hohensalzburg, #13 Gravensteen Castle (ditto), #7 Mont Saint Michel (very impressive), and #1 Eltz Castle (pretty cool, but not #1 or likely in the top-10).
I take it this is just a list of castles and not any kind of ranking. If it is actual ranking than for starters Malbork is the largest castle in the world by land size.

Poland: Malbork - well preserved and the world's largest build of brick castle at Nr. 83? Behind provincial Bobolice castle? Really?
Bouzov. Super krásný zámek.
Qué lindos!
Middle Ages 1154-1485.

Well it's a totally arbitrary ranking where I went by the looks... My favorite is actually #32, Thun Castle. I love it's simplicity and elegance.
A gdzie zamek na Wawelu w Krakowie, zamek królewski w Warszawie, zamek Książ i wiele innych w Polsce ❤️🇵🇱❤️
Zgadzam się. Przykro że Polska jest słabo reprezentowa

Mont Saint Michel isnt a castle
it's more than a castle, but still can be considered as a castle, the same as Carcassonne fortified city

Cardona is in Catalonia.

A zamek Moszna ? Elegancją przćmiewa wszystkie te zameczki . Eeeeeeeee , jakaś subiektywna ocena .
In una sola qualsiasi regione italiana ci sono più castelli che in tutta questa rassegna di ruderi e catapecchie.
Castle Blatna in Czechia is not from 6th century, but from 13th century. OMG. 🤦😝
