My son and I were at the game, some crowd, over 38,000 in the end. We love going to the cup final, even if Rovers aren't in it. Fair play to the Drogheda and Derry support, it was a great atmosphere! Like you Keith, I was sure Derry would win it, considering their resources, but in the end, Drogheda looked hungrier and the game plan worked out a treat for them! I think there will be a serious soul-search going on in Derry tonight and over the next few weeks, losing the cup is one thing, but not making Europe is a huge issue, especially when trying to attract new players for next season. I think this is the final nail in the coffin for Higgins for sure, I think a re-build for Derry might be in order? Congratulations to Drogheda and hard luck Derry, safe travels home to all!
I'm glad you had a good day at the Aviva. Derry beat St Pats, Shelbourne, and Cork City on their way to the final, so I was sure that they'd dispatch Drogheda too. But I'm delighted the underdogs won, and deservedly on the day. They'll be in a good frame of mind for the playoff !
@@IrishFootyVlogs yeah, it was shocking to us to be honest, thought Derry would comfortably win it. But someone pointed out that since the Shels Derry cup final, Derry have gone in complete reverse, while Shels have gone the opposite direction
A great occasion & a pleasure to attend & spend my 3rd cup final in a row with you Keith Highest attendance for a final featuring teams outside Dublin. Great to see constant growth 🇮🇪
Thanks Derry fan, have to say I feel sad for the Derry fans, great football city I’ve visited many times. Derry completely underperforming and prob need a change of management
Really deserved win for drogheda, another big game against bray coming up good luck to them, If shels didn’t win league Kevin Doherty would definitely get manager of the year
Great video! I enjoyed the day out in my Bohs gear, had some good chats with people from various clubs. Derry and Drogheda brought great support. Obviously Derry gets a setback when McEleney P comes off but Patching is nothing to be sneezed at when he runs on. McMullan posed some threats in the first half, but by half time he's looking tired already. Derry City spent too much time pussyfooting around the middle of the park in the first half, I think, especially after they go down one. This is the Cup Final, you have to go all in. All the Drogs players put in a great shift, all credit to them. Higgins has had his go and failed to land it, I can't see that air of pessimism lifting while he remains in charge. Tonight is Kevin Doherty's night, it's a triumph for his approach, despite limited resources. You have to be pleased for him.
It's not released on any platforms yet unfortunately, hopefully some time soon! If you ask around some of the supporters they migjt be able to give you the link 🤞
Congratulations to Drogheda. I may travel up to Tallaght to see the playoff. The day time kickoff suits me, so I can travel home to Cork in the train. For a change Drogheda will be favourites, but as I said in another post, the game is a one off, so no outcome is guaranteed,
Good game of football Derry didn't show up at all after the shelbourne match and congratulations to Drogheda on the win in the final and hope they do well in Europe good vlog Keith love the vlogs that you and Billy do for the league of Ireland see you soon from Liam ⚽️
Haven't seen a more embarrassing performance than the Derry one today no fight passion any of that in their biggest game. Drogheda were better side for all those reasons even if attacking wise they actually didn't do too much they got their moments from Derry switching off and a penalty which is how you win cup finals fair play to them. Bray will put up a way bigger fight huge role reversal on Saturday interesting to see how they get on with being heavy favourites and 5 or more likely 4 days prep with them losing tomorrow even if they train they will be wrecked.
Congrats to Drogs and all our Shels alumni, Deegan, Farrell, Quinn, Kane, Brennan and our former manager Doherty, great to see them win. That's the end of Higgins I think, they can't keep him after losing a possible double to finishing out of Europe, hope Ben Doherty is keeping quiet after he shushed the Shels fans in the cup game 😂😂😂

Unbelievable Keith. The word "fairytale" is thrown around quite a lot in football nowadays, but it's never been more true than today.
Nice comment, as a neutral it did really look like that.
Well done Drogs.fair play all.

Gutted after that, we were hopeless. Drogs played well and deserved the win.

Was more surprised with how Derry got on rather than Drogheda, Derry didn’t seem like they wanted it at all
I think that’s called a gecko Keith 😅🦎
That’s it! I forgot the name briefly 😂😂😂
@@IrishFootyVlogs there’s one in my house also a real touch of Florida 😅
Imagine the odds ud of gotten on a Shels/Drogs accumulaor !!!! 1000/1 I reckon
To be fair, I'd say the odds were more like 20/1. Perhaps as much as 50/1... but a nice bet to have taken nevertheless.
The Drogheda United fans were singing “Derry get battered, everywhere they go.”
No we weren't mate 😂
Didn’t sing that at all and never have. Get your ears checked out pal.

Not seeing Bray getting past Drogheda, no disrespect.
Higgins has to go
@@AidanMaddensame but got to have faith always massive underdogs no matter the outcome
Derry didn’t show up
Drogheda didn't let them
Hopefully Drogheda will play Finn harps next year in the first division
😂😂
You’d never know!
