The suspension, engine and all sounded like he just unwrapped the car. He has been the owner of the 2013 gs350 since new. I assure you that you cant say the same about any german car on the road right now.
So many haters, I would take this over any of it's competitors. Looks refreshingly great compared to the entire fleet of run of the mill BMW and E Classes.
I’m gonna buy one of these, maybe a ‘15 model. Have an ‘09 Passat and love the way it drives. Bought it for cheap with only 109k miles but in the four months I’ve had it it’s been a German nightmare. Never another German car for me. Sure German cars have killer performance but they also kill you with repair bills and keep you poor. Lexus is luxury, sportiness and reliability. It’s not too much to ask for all three. Go with Lexus
I'm still more of an Audi guy myself, even though they're nowhere near as reliable. But I can't lie, I've legit had dreams of cruising in a luxury Lex all business suited up. That's just road faring paradise!
I totally agree! I bought a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport a couple years ago with 41k miles for $28k before taxes (original MSRP $58k) & it's been the best car ever! I seriously can't ask for a better car!
My Father has owned two Mercedes. Parts and maintenance are insane, not for me. Audi? Love the style my favorite German brand based in looks, scary reliability. And if I had a nickel for everyone who's told me they'll never buy a BMW again, I'd be retired. Lexus is luxury that just makes sense. You get reliability, luxury, value and resale.
I completely disagree about the gauges!! Please keep simple non-LCD gauges. I don't want a damn computer screen just to tell me my speed and revs. It's useless complexity and causes excess glare at night.
@@MegaNOObxX I though I was the only one nauseated by these LCD gauges that will probably cost a small fortune to fix in 5-10 years. In addition they look fake, are laggy, and childish.
I really want to like this car. But the competition is just so much better. I don't understand what's so hard to just tweak small things like the Germans do every year. How hard is it to offer an optional Pano moon roof? How hard is it update your graphics? To offer Apple/Android CarPlay, to offer cooled rear seats, to add 4g lte wifi, to redo the instrument cluster, to add AWD to the 200t models, to bump up the horsepower. The car doesn't need a redesign, just keep the updates consistent and feeling fresh. I'm a Lexus fanboy, but after seeing virtual cockpit to whatever this "Enformed" system is, I can't even recommend a Lexus over the competition. The G80 is even more advanced than this car, and that's just a refreshed Genesis.
@@SD61904 For $500 you can buy a factory integration unit and have a full android computer. I have it on my 11, it was actually an accessory in some markets. These are some of the best cars ever made, especially if you want to keep it long term. AWD too. I guess some people want planned obsolescence, unreliable german shit
@@SD61904 Yup, they are extremely underrated cars. And those 3.5L V6s? They are some of the most powerful NATURALLY ASPIRATED v6 engines on the planet. AND RELIABLE! And I get 23 MPG if I drive easy. BMW isn't even competition (I mean, I am also talking about keeping the car past its warranty period, even being reliable IN WARRANTY). My neighbor had a BMW and he only drives Lexus now. BMW also treats their customers like shit, and he had 5 cars from them. Hyundai is better to deal with. I tried BMW too and it is a wash which one is actually better.
pedro fernandez if a car is coming towards an officer or maybe hits someone or is following someone, that person can get their license plate number. If the police are looking for a vehicle in a crime and get the front on video, they have more than just the make and model of the car to go off of. It's actually really useful
pedro fernandez you literally did not comprehend my comment. I'm not talking about pulling people over. I'm talking about other situations in which you don't see the back of the car. Please re read my comment
OpticObsidiaN you need to do some research! Front plates are used so that police have a second object to shoot lazer or radar at to get your speed (second to headlights) both are reflective surfaces. Also, prisoners would loose half of their revenue if they would require using one plate. And lastly, most law enforcement departments can read your plate from any angle regardless even if you dont have a front plate. (Hence why many states dont require you have a front plate) I come from a small town with a small budget for their police department, and after they upgraded from crown vics to suburbans a few years ago, they gained that technology. So if my small town with a small budget has that advantage, that means many many more already have it.
John Grabowski It used to be Camry based until the current generation. Although technically the Avalon, ES, and previous generation of Camry are all built on the Toyota K platform so they're all related.
No, it's not. ES is a Camry but obviously more luxurious. Both are FWD. Look at the 2018 ES and 2018 Camry SE/XSE, they are VERY SIMILAR. GS is RWD and stands as the mid size sedan between the IS and LS. Please know your cars before making a statement like that, which turns out to be inaccurate.
pedro fernandez what if the Lexus cars are actually damn good? Stop being a troll. Wait until he drives the new twin turbo LS500 gonna love Lexus even more.
They are damn good, but he has always thought of Lexus as being soft cars attracting older drivers, the LC and the F variant models are changing that stigma
pedro fernandez the LFA change the stigma. If you think about it Lexus the brand is honestly working harder then any other brand. They have built a super car and has built a entire high performance brand in only a few years. Companies like Infiniti, Acura Volvo a bunch of other don't compare to what Lexus is offering. Lexus has made lots of stride for being such a young brand.
in 1989, Toyota sent the Germans into a fit with the introduction of the LS400, better in just about every way and for a lot less money, now history repeats itself with the LC and upcoming LS
I have a 2015 GS350 w/ the 3.5L V6, 8 speed transmission (not 6), AWD, fully loaded.....and it freakin' flies. I absolutely love it. Have to agree with you about the damned mouse; a royal pain. Never try to use it while driving......ever.
You can't get an 8 speed automatic with all wheel drive because the designated compartment underneath cannot accommodate both the larger 8 speed automatic transmission and the all wheel drive system, hence the smaller transmission paired with AWD. The same applies to my W211 Mercedes: the 4 matic only comes equipped with a 5 speed transmission and the front wheel drive version gets the larger 7 speed transmission...
I don’t understand why the people who review the vehicle have to give their input on what they PERSONALLY like; just give the Vehicle’s amenities, and keep your thoughts (your personal likes, and dislikes) to yourself...
Redline Reviews This is the Sofyan I miss. Slow speaking, and able to enunciate precisely. Today's Sofyan speak as if it was his last breath, with a few mistakes in between. I am sure others have noticed.
I feel like Lexus needs to have a better HP with the 3.5L V6. The IS has 306 HP from 2006-2017. Tbh, the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport does better gas miles than the Lexus, with 400 HP. Lexus should remodel its vehicle, especially from 2012-2017 IS, they've had the same looking car for 4 years.
MJ Wild you hit the nail on the head. they can have better performance, higher torque and hp, the engine is very capable of it. this is lexus' single biggest fault. they limit what their cars can do to save on warranty repairs and to try and promote their "reliability" mystique. they know if they mapped and tuned that engine to produce 400 hp it would break down more, if they through a super charger in it it would be amazing, but that leads to more warranty repairs just like the german cars and the infiniti, they cop out on performance cause they think reliability is more important. its working for them they are numbert 2 behind mercedes right now so i dont want to shit on them too much, but if you are a performace guy, and want to be a boss on the road, dont buy a lexus, every single car in its respective class will out perform it.
Jaguar F-type I agree, but I'm just stating. I like Lexus cars, but having the same engine and body style for 4 years, kinda got repetitive. It would be nice to see a remodel of the car just a little. I noice the IS/GS was changed slightly for 2017, it looks nice and everything, but some things should have something new for every year. Maybe a new trip level.. maybe.
You are complaining that the gauge cluster is not a full LED display? You know that many people who want to keep a car long term hate those displays right? I strongly prefer the simplicity of analog gauges.
Good review. I think the slow sales can partially be attributed to this car's polarizing design. Lexus has stated that all their vehicles will employ love it or hate it styling. The problem with that approach is that once the pool of "love it" buyers is exhausted, no one else is going to buy the car. After my car got totaled a few months ago, I was in the market for a new one. It came down to the Lexus GS or Infiniti Q50S. I ended up getting the Q50 because I hated the look of the GS.
I just think that the competition moved too fast too quickly leaving a lot of Lexus cars uncompetitive. If it weren't for Lexus' reputation, I'd never even consider a Lexus at all. The A4 is just technologically light years ahead. Virtual Cockpit, 4G Lte, Heads up display, rear usbs, Pano moon roof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, superior navigation, HD radio, cooled rear seats. Also, Lexus offering their 200 models as RWD only really hurt sales. Not just that they are so underpowered, but I want a twin turbo, but live in bad weather conditions. The 300/350 doesn't make sense to me. After seeing Audi's virtual cockpit LCD cluster, seeing Infiniti's and Lexus' makes me cringe, which is a shame because they used to have the better interiors. I actually think the styling is the only thing Lexus is doing right.
Should of gotten the Genesis G80 311 horsepower and 293 Torque , goood power and value for your money ,, I really don't like that bland tailights , could of made it LED type ..
Miko The Genesis vehicles are nice and are a good value but the interior materials are so much cheaper than the competition. You can really tell where they've cut corners to make their "value". I'm not saying that they are bad or cheap cars because they're not but you get what you pay for. I'm interested to see how the Genesis turbo engines hold up once they start getting into higher mileage.
Yes we own the Lexus Gs 350 2013 AWD. And its nice simple but elegant at the same time. The 2018 however. I feel like nothing much changed. It was a lazy design. I love lexus but now i feel like they are not even trying
I’m very surprised you don’t like the auto in this car, my family has a 2017 GS350 AWD Premium and I think the Trans is one of the best features of it. The car shifts so fast and the paddles are almost instant even when driving the car 9/10. It handles amazingly and accelerates very good for its class. The ride is alright though and the non luxury seats are terrible. Other than that it’s a great car and I highly recommend it over its competitors because it’s a great value. Ours was $50k OTD and was decently loaded (58k MSRP.) Has everything except read seat controls, wood steering wheel, and 18 way seats. Way cheaper features for price than almost everything in class.
Tyler Beeson the transmission is just fine but once you experience the 8,9, and now 10 speed autos in the competition, you'll quickly notice the limitations of this older 6-speed in this car. It just shifts a lot slower and the gearing can knock the engine out of the meat of its power band.
Ok, I see what you mean. I have an 07' S550 with the old 7G-Tronic transmission and it can be a dog. Shifting at awkward times and slow shifts, so the Lexus' 6 Speed feels lightning fast for me. The 7G is good for full throttle though, it's very quick and tight, but half throttle and quick on and off confuses it. Tech has really advanced a lot in the drivetrain of cars in the past 10 years.
Just had a similarly priced Infiniti Q70 as a rental for two weeks and this Lexus absurdly blows the Infiniti version away and makes the Infiniti an embarrassments to be seen in. With the Infiniti, you can kiss goodbye to the AEB/SCC/LKAS, only 2 driver's seat presets and none for the passenger, no rear plug, 2 (unusable) rear cup holders because they are under the same lever as the rear console so you have a nasty point to rest your elbow on that will give you a throbbing headache within 3 minutes tops, no power lifting trunk (instead if you don't close it all the way it will electrically finish the job), power folding mirrors are done manually from a switch and are not synced with the lock so you often are driving down the road and go to do a lane change and figure out then they are folded in when you don't have a mirror to look into, infotainment screen is easily covered by the sun (but it has both knob and touch screen use but is not split), doesn't have any of those climate/audio controls in the rear armrest and doesn't even have heated rear seats, it has a peddle parking brake not electronic and also doesn't have a brake hold. I actually looked up a Lexus IS from 2010 and it looked very similarly equipped with just a bit more of a modern looking front dash design.
ewt415 Just bought a 2013 luxury awd with 55k miles on it for $24k. Its in perfect condition. I know the previous owner and he keeps his cars in like new condition. He has a GX and a RC F and needed to make room in his garage for an LC. SUV and truck prices are so high right now it's driving the price of sedans down. That means savings for sedan lovers. The time to buy is now before gas starts to go up again.
I bought a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport eight months ago with 41k miles for $28k (original MSRP $58k). Overall an excellent used car & a huge improvement over my 2017 IS200t F-Sport that it replaced.
test drove the new E class avantgarde.its noisy, vibrates alot and jerky with the 9 speed g-tronic.sorry benz but i will be keeping my problem-free 6 yr old GS.
I just watched a review for the 2018 LS and it makes this car's interior look a decade old by comparison. I am not a fan of the exterior styling from any angle. Not a bad car, just better options on the market if you ask me.
Most have actually not gotten the GS with AWD. Most are RWD. What is rare is rear wheel steering, which mine has. A GS with luxury package and AWD will most definitely not feel the sportiest. However, if you were to get the 8 speed RWD model with F sport package, this would've been a different video. The GS as far as interior tech may be behind its competitors because its essentially Lexus's first vehicle in the new era of spindle grill and it definetly shows its age. However, its is one of the better driving vehicles in the class, the most reliable, and yes the most polarizing as far as looks. If they do redesign the GS and I hope to God they do and not just give up on it, I'm pretty confident that it will receive the new twin turbo motor from the new LS, its interior and exterior will be upgraded and it will again be at the top of its class like it once was.
My coworker has a 2010 GS 350 and is thinking of upgrading, but he says he doesn't like the new styling of this one... Can't seem to find a good deal on a used pre-refresh one in the area either. I like the styling, personally, but it is obvious even the loyalists are capable of disliking it. Note, this is the guy who kinda helped steer me in the direction of Lexus - refusing to buy a new one. Nonetheless hopefully I will get to sample one of these at some point - I hear great stuff about the handling.
I have to say, power tailgates/trunk lids aggravate me. I'm an impatient person. If I want a luxury car, I shouldn't be forced to be slow. That feature is ALWAYS rolled into something that seems like a no-brainer for the interior.
You mention Lexus has two cars for the midsize segment, that used to be the case until the current model came out about two years ago. The ES is now in the Full size segment, same as the Toyota Avalon.
Manual rear side shades are part of the $6,000 luxury package which is the only way you can get those along with the rear controls, rear passenger heated seats, fully-adjustable passenger seat, and front passenger memory programming.
Did you get one yet? I have a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I bought about a year ago & I still love it! These are easily one of the best used cars you can buy right now in the $25k-$30k price range IMO. I paid $28k with 41k miles (Original MSRP $58k). Has been a near perfect car for me & planning on keeping it for a very long time.
Joshua R Any chance of it getting the 8 speed DirectShift for the AWD version? And what about the turbo V6 in the LS? At least replace this 2GR-FSE with a detuned turbo V6, Lexus!!
Koji sato said GS will discontinue for the moment, this is last generation GS you can buy, GS350 f-sport RWD is good a good car, but 6AT AWD or 2.0T? NO!
@@Oneofakind91 Agreed! I have a 2016 & they really stand out especially when the car is white like mine. Plus they have LED turn signals where the 13-15's are incandescent.

The suspension, engine and all sounded like he just unwrapped the car. He has been the owner of the 2013 gs350 since new. I assure you that you cant say the same about any german car on the road right now.
Cool story bro and pretty redundant. If one just keeps up with the maintenance and don't abuse the car then a BMW can be as reliable as a Lexus

You ever get the 2015? I got mine this February and been living it since! Such a smooth riding car and has some nice power.
Over the last 8 years I had 06 and 13 GS. A part for the AC went bad in the 06. No other issues other than standard preventive maintenance.
I'm still more of an Audi guy myself, even though they're nowhere near as reliable. But I can't lie, I've legit had dreams of cruising in a luxury Lex all business suited up. That's just road faring paradise!
I have a Lexus GS 350 2016 and I love it....great car in my opinion.
kester same I love my awd 2016 I dunno wtf this guy talking about it being laggy or slow.... too many criticisms
I totally agree! I bought a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport a couple years ago with 41k miles for $28k before taxes (original MSRP $58k) & it's been the best car ever! I seriously can't ask for a better car!
Seriously considering the car but can’t get over how the rear end of this car looks. If the GS looked like the ES it’d be an instant buy.
s50201 i have a 2013 it’s super solid I love it, weird but I like the newer rear end but not the front and vice versa
This car with some after market parts, add a supercharger and you got a whole different beast 💯
I completely disagree about the gauges!! Please keep simple non-LCD gauges. I don't want a damn computer screen just to tell me my speed and revs. It's useless complexity and causes excess glare at night.
sjwang40 I agree. Those big lcds get laggy and glitchy in extreme temperatures.

BMW also treats their customers like shit, and he had 5 cars from them. Hyundai is better to deal with. I tried BMW too and it is a wash which one is actually better.
Come on NJ legislators, get rid of that useless front tag already, what's the point of having that in the front?
pedro fernandez Connecticut does them too 😩
pedro fernandez if a car is coming towards an officer or maybe hits someone or is following someone, that person can get their license plate number. If the police are looking for a vehicle in a crime and get the front on video, they have more than just the make and model of the car to go off of. It's actually really useful
It ruins the fascia on many new vehicles, police pull over cars by the rear plate, not the front.
pedro fernandez you literally did not comprehend my comment.

ES is not a Camry-based sedan, it is Avalon-based.
John Grabowski It used to be Camry based until the current generation. Although technically the Avalon, ES, and previous generation of Camry are all built on the Toyota K platform so they're all related.
Avalon is the Stretched Version of the ES/Camry...

William Allen right right
The LC500 has made Soyfan a Lexus fanboy!
pedro fernandez what if the Lexus cars are actually damn good?
Toyota4Life well Acura is slowly doing that based on what your saying
I have a 2015 GS350 w/ the 3.5L V6, 8 speed transmission (not 6), AWD, fully loaded.....and it freakin' flies. I absolutely love it. Have to agree with you about the damned mouse; a royal pain. Never try to use it while driving......ever.
Stuart Alexander you don’t know what you have. The awd gs only comes with the 6at. 8at is for rwd models only.

MJ Wild you hit the nail on the head. they can have better performance, higher torque and hp, the engine is very capable of it. this is lexus' single biggest fault. they limit what their cars can do to save on warranty repairs and to try and promote their "reliability" mystique. they know if they mapped and tuned that engine to produce 400 hp it would break down more, if they through a super charger in it it would be amazing, but that leads to more warranty repairs just like the german cars and the infiniti, they cop out on performance cause they think reliability is more important. its working for them they are numbert 2 behind mercedes right now so i dont want to shit on them too much, but if you are a performace guy, and want to be a boss on the road, dont buy a lexus, every single car in its respective class will out perform it.
why more hp? its not sport oriented like the Infiniti its more luxury based. but it could use a mpg increase
MJ Wild if you want more power go for the GSF with the V8
The infinity has turbo, this car is Naturally aspirated. The max HP range for a N/A 3.5L engine is in the low 300s
This body debuted in europe in 2012 lol and it had wayyy more loaded interior
Nicholas Mazzi Good luck with that Nissan / Infiniti build quality and reliability~
I see a lot of this model GS here in NYC as well as the previous gen model.
Hate what they did to the front end and taillights in this refresh, the 2013-2015 GS looked so much better.
Agreed. Loved the 2013-15 GS. Looked perfect for me but the facelift looks so ugly.

Yes we own the Lexus Gs 350 2013 AWD. And its nice simple but elegant at the same time. The 2018 however. I feel like nothing much changed. It was a lazy design. I love lexus but now i feel like they are not even trying
Finally that AWD YOU ASKED FOR
I’m very surprised you don’t like the auto in this car, my family has a 2017 GS350 AWD Premium and I think the Trans is one of the best features of it.
Best reviews in youtube!
Sofyan really needs a sponsorship from porsche.... would love to hear his opinions on their cars...
The GS was once the beast of the Lexus lineup.

You can get a 2014 GS350 F Sport for about $33,000 with as many miles. Fucking bargain of the century
ewt415 Just bought a 2013 luxury awd with 55k miles on it for $24k.

I just watched a review for the 2018 LS and it makes this car's interior look a decade old by comparison. I am not a fan of the exterior styling from any angle. Not a bad car, just better options on the market if you ask me.
Everyone is going to hate on this car. I personally like the car.
Likewise. It is very good and solid vehicle.
ARentz07 you should tell him to look at genesis g80 or g70 just depends on his taste.
Nice review. I wish Lexus would keep this car updated. It actually looks nice if the interior wasn't so 2007.
Wow when I heard 2017 GS350, my hair stood on end. I love them
Never seen one with LED lights and side sun shades
Manual rear side shades are part of the $6,000 luxury package which is the only way you can get those along with the rear controls, rear passenger heated seats, fully-adjustable passenger seat, and front passenger memory programming.
