The target audience for the card game in Japan for the Konami Card Game was for 12 and up. Before that, Bandai's Carddass had cards covered in a lot of blood with human death like eaten by a monster. It was not a children's card game at all, which was in tone with Takahashi's manga. But you need to do the casual thing and make a joke.
This series is so old that hearing contemporary references from these characters feels weird. Not that it’s bad, but it’s mind-blowing that binging this series is essentially watching the evolution of Internet humor in mere hours. Edit: Wow, thanks for the likes, guys!

That was a painful reminder of Joey's final victory in the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. This was a guy who went from taking on all the secondary characters in Duelist Kingdom to narrowly losing to Marik due to injuries sustained for plot conveniences.

It ended up being more of a free-for-all where everyone's got a team of monsters they use, but he was useful to the gang, so I'm going with yes. (Unpopular opinion, I actually enjoyed that season.)

I don’t say this often, but I definitely needed this today since hearing news of Kazuki Takahashi’s death. He was a huge inspiration to me and my art, and one of the main reasons I ever even started drawing. I just can’t believe he’s gone. Now I understand how Berserk fans felt when Kentaro Miura died. The world has lost a man with endless joy in creativity, and it’s heartbreaking and so unfair, especially with the way he died. May he rest in peace.
Greetings. I remember when Berserk fans were grieving over Miura-san's passing despite that I admit that I'm not a Berserk fan myself. Now I wonder if Takahashi and Miura crossed paths when they were creating their separate works. I wouldn't be surprised if one drew inspiration from the other. Artists do that all the time.

Well, Mokuba has improved since the first season. Less of being a damsel, has some smart remarks that even Seto would compliment, still has his back even though Seto can nucking futs like in Episode 62.
The episode's cold opening includes a joke about this series's dated jokes, so...LK probably doesn't see that as a serious drawback. What would YGOTAS be if it didn't try to be the best version of jokes that would be stale within a few episodes?
In a time where most abridgers, big and small, have lost interest, passion, resources, or couldn't continue due to life; even TFS having retired DBZA; LittleKuriboh, the godfather of abridging, is still keeping up with this magnificent series! It doesn't matter how long the hiatus' are, as long as he keeps coming back with more!

I started YGO and DBZA while doing my Master's and deep in depression. They got me out of some dark times, and as I'm approaching my 40s, I'm glad they are still around in some ways.

It is oddly comforting to know that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged series began during my childhood and will probably end in my retirement in about 20 years. Little Kuriboh will always be there in our lives (I hope!).
If YGOA started when you were a kid, I'm pretty sure you'll need to work for more than 30 more years before you can retire.
Fuck I first found it when I was 12 and there were only around 8 episodes; I'm now almost 30. Its wild 😂

That was a painful reminder of Joey's final victory in the original Yu-Gi-Oh series. This was a guy who went from taking on all the secondary characters in Duelist Kingdom to narrowly losing to Marik due to injuries sustained for plot conveniences.

@@DSiLite It's difficult to really answer that, given that they didn't have traditional games in that season. It ended up being more of a free-for-all where everyone's got a team of monsters they use, but he was useful to the gang, so I'm going with yes. (Unpopular opinion, I actually enjoyed that season.)

I don’t say this often, but I definitely needed this today since hearing news of Kazuki Takahashi’s death.
He was a huge inspiration to me and my art, and one of the main reasons I ever even started drawing. I just can’t believe he’s gone. Now I understand how Berserk fans felt when Kentaro Miura died.
The world has lost a man with endless joy in creativity, and it’s heartbreaking and so unfair, especially with the way he died.

Greetings. I remember when Berserk fans were grieving over Miura-san's passing despite that I admit that I'm not a Berserk fan myself. Now I wonder if Takahashi and Miura crossed paths when they were creating their separate works. I wouldn't be surprised if one drew inspiration from the other. Artists do that all the time.

To be fair, immediately turning your backs on NFT after seeing the target audience's disdain towards it actually is a pretty solid managerial decision.
Significantly better than most companies have done.
Going back on a bad decision instead of falling to sunk cost fallacy and being needlessly obstinate is a valuable ability, especially when as the person at the top you won't be scapegoated(heh) and held accountable for any of the fallout and can more easily sweep it under the rug and move one.

The episode's cold opening includes a joke about this series's dated jokes, so...LK probably doesn't see that as a serious drawback. What would YGOTAS be if it didn't try to be the best version of jokes that would be stale within a few episodes?
Half of this series doesn't age gracefully, and that's part of the charm.

I just checked, this really was Joey’s last win. Although to be fair, his last duel was a loss against Ziegfried, and he didn’t actually duel during the Zorc arc.
and he gets screwed by Ziegfried cards, which those same cards aren't nearly as powerful when Ziegfried duels Kaiba.

I also started in college and am in my early 30s and I didn’t realize until reading this just how long ago that was 😭 It seems like just a few years ago when I first started watching. I’m glad LK has been able to keep it up all this time and through all the ups and downs.

I started YGO and DBZA while doing my Master's and deep in depression. They got me out of some dark times, and as I'm approaching my 40s, I'm glad they are still around in some ways.
