I have sent my Osmo 5 back today 24 Oct. I said it was the bit rate issue, sadly DJI didn't suggest a firmware was on the way to address it, if they did I would have kept it.
With 60Mbit/sec in 4K/30p it is NOT worth the upgrade by any means. Imagine going to 4K/60p and having 30Mbit/sec when playing the footage with 50% slow motion. This is the exact same bitrate as my Nikon D600 while shooting 1080/30p in 2014 !!!!! Major DEAL-BREAKER. 😢
@@HollywoodweddingfilmsGREECE wait wait. very interesting very specific thing you pointing out. BUT - i own the 4, have to find what Mbit does that record in. thanks man
hey so im looking to create more cinematic film shots with my action pro 5 I don't understand filters and lenses but I'm learning I live in a very sunny climate and will be shooting with lots of natural light IS it worth me getting a nd filter you think? (I try make videos like cinematic, a24 aesthetic, soft glow, warm - rather than full on action cam extreme sports vibe, less of a need for wide angle)
picture quality from action 4 is a pur dream for me ( 22 years of different helmet-cam). with 1" sensor, problem will become the near focus distance. because an action-cam have fix-focus on infinite and a fix iris.
maybe for less power consumption, and giving too many "trust" to a "new" optimized codec or tip-compression. Hope to see upgrading bitrate in a new firmware soon
@@BrentTimm you're damn right. I've no faith in mankind but I think they will absolutely do that. DJI has a history of improving things later, think about OA4 and the 10 bit thing. If they did that, they can raise the bitrate as well. Considered the the hardware is improved and that it has an internal storage which should definitely bes faster than a card and probaly act as a buffer. Maybe they didn't issue that on the launch because it might overheat the camera and they do not want that - at least for now. But an higher bitrate IS TOTALLY MANDATORY!
@@mtbohana I am pretty sure that they will fix this, they have a history of continuously improving their products, like the 10 bits on OA4. Maybe they didn’t do it right now because it might overheat. And in this very moment, they are under the spotlights, so they better not fail, even considering the bold claims for the duration of the battery. Let’s see!
@@FabrizioNannini I highly doubt or they would have done it already. BS on they were trying to show long Batt. time. I'm so sick of the deceptions from these reviewers and co.
This video review is stupid in the way that he says he was wow'd then he saw the bit rate artifacts and was like what the hell is this. Then he raves about what a great camera it is if they somehow fix the low low bitrate problem. I will never listen to another BS youtube review again. Everyone of the big channels raved raved raved about it and never say a word about the elephant in the room of low low bit rate. What a bunch of sell outs. Jake Slone said nothing. DJI official specification lists max bit rate for the OA5pro at 100 that’s 30 down on the Action 4 will they be able to resolve via fw 🤷 not sure taking bit rate down qualifies as ‘pro’.
it's very bizarre. since the start, bitrate always struggle picture quality, until now and certainly futur. Because heat dissipation. So a step-back about bitrate...strange. for now I am very happy with action4, reliable and nice pictures.
DJI rep said they'll add higher bitrate in the next firmware update! Will you make a video about it?

Wow. 2 weeks ago. TWO WEEKS AGO I kicked Gopro to the butt and got me action 4. And you do me with 5 now? :))) Damnit!
Do some research before buying man, leaked info of 5 all over the place 2 weeks ago.

1in sensor would be cool. And that bit rate is ROUGH.
it's a shame it didn't get a 1 inch sensor ..quality just little better than action 4 :(

@@LE_GRATIN If they can fit variable aperture as well, it would solve that problem. I was really hoping for same (or improved) 1" sensor of Pocket 3.

Stop it , an action camera will not get a 1 inch sensor, otherwise it would be bigger in size and definitely get a bigger battery

Every movie you’ve every watched has motion blur
Unacceptable for me this low bit rate. i am staying with my OSMO Action 4 . No question about it.
Oh, dji has a great and promising job behind and starting to repeat mistakes of gopro with their marketing.
I found absurd of DJI to call PRO a camera with much less bitrate than its former version. Are they crazy?
Yep, they have to fix that asap, I am sure the hardware can handle 150+ Mbit/s.

I just bought a 5 but now may return if no firmware fix on Day 1. This is unacceptable.

DJI was obviously looking to advertise better overheating and battery life - so they sacrificed image quality. Not good.
at 7:56 why are the trees warping and distorting around the subject's head? is that happening in camera?
probably some dumb ai stuff going on.
The artifacts due to lower bit rates is a bit frustrating… guess I’ll wait for a firmware update or two before I decide.
Yes indeed, I would like to see 150 Mbit/s, for optimal Quality, Storage is no issue.
Yes, 60 is a hard no.
It would need to be 150 mbit/s before I purchase it.
60 mbit/s is stupid when GoPro is doing 200 mbit/s
even when OA4 does 130!!!!
