I've been in such situation before and it wasn't an easy one till I was introduced to my broker Stephen Harris and it’s been such great returns.

"You own your own data", "no intermediaries" are inaccurate statement when the wallets and the internet networks you use to access web3 are owned by centralised companies. True decentralisation is unrealistic until the internet itself is decentralised at its basic level. Furthermore, unless the web3 companies are independently funded by the founders and/or the community itself, VC firms will be the ones that will have true ownership of the projects. Whoever controls the money, will control the direction of where web3 is going.

Why do people talk about „freedom” then? Because what you explained just sounds like web 3 is like web 2 but with different owners and internet money instead of normal money.
So what is the main reinforcement for people to switch to Web 3?
If Web 3 platforms, apps, exchangers gonna own it and regulate it anyway, why should we abandon classical Google and Banks?
I had the same skepticism about crypto in 2017 too, and to reaffirm my belief it crashed soon after. Now, after seeing "crisis" after "crisis" hit the crypto space, with lots of headlines, and its still going strong - I have slowly changed my opinion too. Never go all in, and make sure you learn about what to do and what not to do if you want to get started, you can loose it all just by doing some avoidable mistakes.
That was the most down to earth and realistic explanation of the block chain and its potential that I have heard. Thank you.

I recently heard about the Nfts thing but still don't understand how these benefits people or how the NFT buyer use such digital arts.

An idea that just came up my mind is - what if we replace the stock brokers by directly buying and selling the stocks from the companies and not through any middleman that would save us like a hell lot of brokerage money and will be completely transparent as everyone one the blockchain can see who owns what part of the company....

Most NFTs are scams. Only a very small minority of NFT projects are real businesses with committed and capable team. Most people lose money in NFTs.

Thanks for the video Marina! What is not quite clear with your examples: 1) Musicians distributing rights to people - what do real musicians think of that? We know big musicians say, that *owning your own music - is THE biggest and most important thing* to them. Some are even rerecording their albums (yes, Taylor Swift) so that they alone would be the owner of their music. 2) Having ALL your information stored in one place and being available - some things are private and confidential. Even with Embassies - they do not always need to know EVERYTHING about you. Assuming that it is SO easy and natural to share your financial, fiscal, medical and other records with everyone in one place - sounds very doubtful to me.
well, it's all just data, and using Blockchain and Smart Contracts, we can make this data smart or programable, so for the music thing, you can sell 10.000 copy of the album to the special fans of yours who want to be part of your music career, those people owns that piece of album represented by the NFT, so if they made a video on youtube, by owing the special NFT you can use the music in the video, still though you might sell 1000000 copy of the same album, thanks to the initial fund you raised from selling the music as NFT, then you share some of that revenue with the NFT's owner. long story short, you put your own terms on the NFTs, then people decide to contribute or not.
Blockchain technology also provides the ease of finding and accessing the data, it really doesn't matter how or where your data are stored, whether directly in the open on the Blockchain, or in some centralised Database with an anchor on the Blockchain, it would be easy to access those information from one place or one wallet, still though you don't have to use only this wallet, there are tons of them out there.

I don't think that is the biggest environmental issue the world is facing, i work in the construction industry that is responsible for 40 % of carbon emission in the world, if we can build smart cities, and shift to sustainble buildings there is a chance the mining impact can be reduced.
They are improving it algorithms like proof of stake and 35 percent mining energy comes from renewable sources.
Good and serious question that of course will not be answered in comments as none of them are. All we get from Marina in the comments is liking the comments saying how they love her so much
Do you know how much electricity is consumed and wasted by the current financial system? Do you know how many Bank building have lights, AC's, Parking lot lights on all weekend and how many ATM's are plugged in and used less that 10 hours combined in every 24 hours?
