    Nice landing! It would be cool to see some flights to some smaller (other than Tallinn, Estonia's main airport) airport in Estonia. Even though Estonia is small, there are some airports that operate flights and I think it would be cool to see one.

      @Just Planes I don't think it will be an easy process due to regulations.
      I hope they are the same as when you did your kingfisher and spicejet filming.
      It will be great to see the approach and departure process of Karipur as the locals address the airport.
      I wish the best and await your upload for the VOCL.

    great video guys, as i am doing my type rating on the 320 your vids really help out to see the real deal, just one thing i believe that at 70 knots there should be a call out to stow the reversers to idle
    all the best enjoy your flights

    Interestingly, on this Wizzair plane the First Officer has to carry out all take-offs and landings. This A321neo has a fault in FMGC 1 (cmdt's FMGC) which continues to function on flights but provides invalid data to the AFS (AutoFlightSystem).
    In these cases, Airbus recommends ignoring the data coming from the cmdt displays, including the AP1 channel and the crew relying on the information coming from the FO side.

  • @tomstravels520
    @tomstravels520 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I’m guessing there was some sort of FMGC 1 problem as AP1 was inop and 2FD2 was showing on the PFD’s

    Great video, JP! The Wizz 320/321's are quite the sight. Given they're an ULCC, is there any reason they don't seem to shut down an engine during taxi in? Surely, cooldown isn't an issue, or is it just perfect timing on blocks every time when both are shut down? Or, is it just a quirk of the NEO?

    • @sztojanbarna
      @sztojanbarna ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's their SOP mainly. You will also see that a lots of things, especially their callouts are performed somewhat different from other airlines' callouts. I find their way of doing things the most efficient in all Airbus flying companies. The constant cross-checking, clear instructions and very skilled pilots make this airline sadly the most underrated one in Europe.

    • @iamra_n3189
      @iamra_n3189 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sztojanbarna Thanks! So, it's their SOP to 'not' shut down an engine on taxi-in? Indeed, what I meant was that I'd expect they can do that just about every time, as long as the taxi-in time exceeded the engine cool down period after landing. Or, have they just missed it on almost every occasion that JP is filming?? I understand there is reasonable apprehension for single engine taxi-OUT with the NEO, given the somewhat unpredictable BRM phase. But after landing it's quite simple.
      I agree and am too an admirer of this daringly skilled and efficient airline!

      @@iamra_n3189 Wizz Air is all about fuel efficiency, so I am pretty sure they have their reasons why in certain cases they switch off one engine and why in certain cases they don’t. I don’t think that on this airport the taxiing takes so much time that the engine has enough time to cool down before they get to their stand. Also they are doing a short turnaround, which also effects these procedures. Luckily I got accepted to Wizz Air, so I will be able to tell you what’s their procedure on single engine taxiing in a few months.

      He is not just focused on the screen, you can see his eyes constantly switching between looking on the instruments and looking outside. This is necessary to continuously monitor the instrument indications to make small corrections to the flight path (which are not visible on the camera from that position). Then you can see constant focus outside from about 50 feet down.

    • @gliderman13
      @gliderman13 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have also noticed this. Exceptionally lot of his attention was inside the aircraft, especially below 500ft.

    • @iamra_n3189
      @iamra_n3189 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gliderman13 That's where the PFD & Engine instruments are. He's switching his eyes both in and out of the cockpit. It's 100% eyes out for the flare from 50ft though. It's pretty hard to rely on feel ad sound alone in these big, heavy birds. Even the big turboprops like Q400...you've got to hit the numbers! If they had a HUD, he could look right through the instruments the whole time, whilst also looking outside.

    • @gliderman13
      @gliderman13 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iamra_n3189 hey I can assure you that I know where all flight instruments are located;) I am an LTC previously rated on A320 family, now B737. Unfortunately the majority of his attention is on flight instruments almost up to 100-50ft, that’s simply unacceptable and would need a proper debriefing.
