    Amazing. Your patience and persistence is truly inspiring. The condition of the underside, revealed after an enormous amount of tedious work, is truly incredible. Fantastic job.
    I would be remiss if I didn't mention the camera work. Clear, detailed, and understandable shots from impossible angles are a sight to behold. I don't know that I've ever seen anything like it. That's real world. I felt like I was under the car with you. Another great job.

      Man hearing comments like that is what makes doing all this worth it. I'm not pro, probably do a lot wrong, but I always had the mentality that anyone can do this if they really wanted to. If someone like yourself gets motivated to get your own project moving that's great. Hey Max. Watching your build. Will be taking my 69 to Ricky R next spring but was wondering what rear setup you were planning? Rick will be welding in a Ridetech 4 link for me. Also, Eastwood makes a chassis rust encapsulation spray. We use it on Corvette chassis a lot. Has a 2 foot tube you push up into the frame rail and spray the rubber coating as you slowly pull it out. It works good. Look it up. Will help with your internal rust on those rear frame rails.

    • @SubdivisionAuto
      @SubdivisionAuto  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That is super cool ! Ricky is the best there is in the business (in my mind). Thats cool about the spray I use internal frame coating from eastwood but it doesnt always cover very well. Despite being high volume its impossible to hit all the spots. Rubber coating, im not sure about that, Ive only seen bad things about rubber as it usually traps moisture. Had that problem on both this car (in the wheel houses) and on my 88 cherokee (where they sprayed the whole car, and it rusted from inside out). But maybe this technology is better now? I dont know. I am putting in something similar to you. Im putting in the Qa1 4 link kit, only the new one comes with their own Ford 9" housing. Was going to save my 8.5 rear end but decided not to put it back in, the ford gives more flexibility and everything on my 8.5 is factory and needs to be upgraded anyways. Thanks for the comment

    • @PaulKonrath
      @PaulKonrath 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @SubdivisionAuto you're welcome. Kudos on the stamina to stay at it. I've now done the underside of 2 corvette bodies so I understand your pain. The Eastwood product isn't truly rubber. Whatever it is (kinda like truck bed liner), it's designed for that purpose and shouldn't allow rust. Better than nothing since you aren't uncovering the frame rails.

  • @boatnut64
    @boatnut64 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You probably should pull the subframe, to check your bodymount locations... they are Notorious for rotting under the rubber mounts... (and you can't tell, until you pull them out)

    • @SubdivisionAuto
      @SubdivisionAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@boatnut64 interesting that's a good point never thought of that. I will be indeed doing that before I totally finish the bottom of the car. Only reason I kept the subframe on is because I wanna rough fit the engine and transmission. I'll be dropping a 6 speed in there and the floor needs to be cut. Figured I'd do all the rough work before I take everything off to restore completely

    Oh man. You could have saved yourself so much time and struggle by just going and renting a large industrial sand blaster. I did that for my wood chipper and it was well wroth the few hundred bucks. Made such light work of it. It takes it down far better than you can ever sand too. Just a matter of a couple hours.

    • @SubdivisionAuto
      @SubdivisionAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh yeah if anything I think I should have named this video "Why you shouldnt sand the bottom of your car". This whole project has been like that. I have spent a year and a half sanding and re-building thus far. If it wasnt for making content it would be a huge waste of time. But I know lots of people are not going to use a sandblaster so that was why we made the videos. I always wondered why there were no videos on youtube about this... now I know. THanks for watching good advice! Makes me want to do another car just to do it right

    at least your doing the very worst job first! I did all this and epoxy primered/ raptor lined the bottom of my 67 dart.
