@@Esi-741 thank goodness Ridge had the good sense this time to move out and not drag that back onto Steph's property. Once was enough. Steph doesn't deserve having to wake up everyday looking at Brooke's face in her home (which is exactly where Brooke would be as she tried to take over there, too).
*Taylor & Brooke Switch Roles* In episode 1751, I wrote about how Brad Bell started doing a Freaky Friday twist with Taylor & Brooke where he switched their roles in the story while still trying to retain their archetypes and the storyline we're seeing now is an example of that. Taylor trying to get to LA and tell Ridge she's alive before he marries Brooke is a redo of when Brooke was trying to get to the chapel and tell Ridge she was carrying his baby before he married Taylor. And both women failed in their mission to stop the wedding so their roles have been reversed: with Brooke about to be the triumphant bride now as Taylor was then. But because Brad is still trying to retain their archetypes, there are key differences. Brooke couldn't wait to tell Ridge about the baby when he got back from his honeymoon and she used Bridget the whole time to cause problems in his marriage. Whereas Taylor will actually delay revealing that she's alive to Ridge out of respect for his marriage to Brooke (at least for a while). And of course Bridget isn't really Ridge's daughter whereas Taylor's claim is more valid (since she's alive, she's still his wife). But as I wrote before, the problem with the Freaky Friday twist is that both characters will eventually begin to lose their distinctions which will contribute to the overall decline of the show. What Brad doesn't understand (and his father did ) is that the characters' roles are very much tied to their archetypes so you can't just switch their positions and still expect them to be who they are. To make Taylor the outside threat to a marriage and still keep her as a Good Girl, you have to make her do silly things like choose to stay in Morocco, go back to LA in a goofy disguise, and not tell Stephanie that Omar was holding her captive (when she finally does reveal herself). Brad is messing with the building blocks of his father’s carefully constructed show and it’s only a matter of time before the whole structure collapses.

I'm talking about the dialogue in this scene and the writers attempt to change characterisation. Taylor is also from the Valley and like Brooke, has daddy issues. Taylor postponing her escape long enough to call Ridge...oh, sure! These writers squeezed every anxious ounce of drama out of Layla escaping her fate. Clever adaptation of Arabian Knights: a rescue turned imprisonment, then eventual escape from death. Handsome Prince Omar, fleeing his role of Shahryar, of the 1001 Arabian Knights to dramatize the romantic passion and never ending love of Taylor and Ridge. Interesting, dramatic twist of fate. Brooke pining away for Ridge was old and annoying, as was his emotional dependency that kept her trapped in hope. Don't know how B & B could have kept the tale of musical beds popular but I guess an occasional foray into pure fantasy has helped. Keeps me looking forward to the next episode, just like everyone else. I hope Taylor's adventures in the Arabian Knights ends with her awaking from a coma in which it was all a dream. That would be a disappointment but realistic. But with soaps, anything is possible.

Back in Morocco, before Taylor can hold his attention, Prince Goat charges in with guards and imprisons her (as if she isn't already). One of the guards wields a sword, and immediately decapitates Ahmed.
