SWFL Eagles ~ 4/12/20 ~ E16 is Learning Fast!!

E16 knows that he has to stay back and let E15 eat first to keep from getting pecked.
But he also has to figure out how to get some food before the feeding is over or the food is gone.
So he takes the high ground, gets close, and tries to put something (like a parent, branch or the stuffed squirrel) between himself and E15 so he’s out of E15’s reach.
E16 is figuring it out!

What a beautiful little family! I love how Papa is tearing off the meat and moma was taking it from his beak and feeding their Eaglete. What a precious sight to see!
We are SO amazingly fortunate to be able to witness the intimate details of their lives. Who would've thought that these amazing hunters can be so gentle. 💜

E16 got closer but didn't get a bite to eat for several minutes. (5:50, 5:53) and he is hugging onto the fish! (6:24)
