Donnie Munro absolute legend, turns up to the soundcheck in a snappy suit with smart shoes! That voice, those moves, the memories... Bruce Guthro, we'll be forever grateful you kept this amazing band going for another 20 years! R.I.P., mate.
I found this band by accident in 2001 I think I have most of their albums now though they be on CD and double up on songs but you just don’t get fed up of them. The first CD I bought was MARA.
Picture filling up at the petrol station in Broadford and a guy walking down the street looking cool with shades on and a good swagger crosses the road and passes by our car and goes into the shop, my mother in law pipes up and says" check that guy out....who does he think he is Donnie Munro"........ It was 😆🙈👍
The most iconic moment of all, gives me goosebumps hearing the 2 very wonderful Runrig lead singers together. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up when Bruce shouts 'Come on now!'
We were there. Our 19th wedding anniversary. We never saw 20. But one hell of a lot of memories. 1993 york and aberdeen , 2004 ipswich stand out but lots in between. We laid him down to the instrumental of precious years. One legend of a band that made our music for a legend of a soldier. Danyr 1972 2014
@@JMurdochNZno loss. I married a soldier it was his time. Mine was the honour and no one can take that away. 😂 That's how I feel most of the time but on a lonely winter night I miss him.
I lost willpower to live in unemployment repeatedly eight years ago and suffered from severe depression. I assisted father who suffered from severe Alzheimer's dementia in those days, and I had to watch trouble of mother fighting against illness for breast cancer afterwards. It was sad cruelly very strictly. I came to think about only dying gradually. I knew totally nameless Runrig in Japan in You tube once. I was able to get willpower to live steadily by hearing the splendid music that I did including Loch Lomond of Runrig. Runrig is my savior. I will love Celts music and traditional culture in Scotland very much afterwards triggered by Runrig. I will go to beloved longed-for Scotland in the near future and thought about watching live broadcasting of Runrig, but I know that there was a dissolution concert in August in 2018 and I am sorry at all and am sad. I think that the re-organization of Runrig is difficult, but a wish will want you to reach it in future in McDonald's Brothers, Malcolm Jones Iain Bayne, Bruce Guthro, Donnie Munro if I can do it. Than a Japanese loving Scotland.
Sorry to hear about your pain and suffering. Runrig have always made very uplifting and inspiring music, full of power and goodwill. If you are ever feeling down, put them on loud, have a sing and a dance...!
Man, was too slow and missed out on tickets. I made it to the second-to-last gig (I think) in London, but would have been amazing to see them one last time in Scotland.
mit gemischten Gefühlen habe ich den Auftritt von Bruce und Donny auf der Concert-DVD gesehen - Ihr Zusammenspiel hier in Probe und LiveAct ist Großartig.
Pity he left then. Quite frankly (in my opinion) the band blossomed without him. Malcolm expressed his guitar playing more and the band were no longer Runrig reaturing Donnie Munro but a cohesive unit. Witness the cool attitude that Pete Wishart has towards Donnie.
Mark Mitchell why was that then. Just because he has a different political affiliation to Donnie and made it into Westminster. Admittedly it was great to see Donnie and Pete appearing at the Moor but the addition of Brian's vocals and the skill he demonstrated in putting The Story together, coupled with the success the band have at home and abroad are testament that the current lineup is a winner.

I don't understand why they didn't use the recorded audio from Donnie singing on the night... If you listen to this version and the live versions recorded by the audience on the night there's a difference in Donnie's phrasing and timing... Definitely been edited.
Gary Cleghorn it looks like the close up shots and audio are from rehearsal. They are wearing different clothes and it appears darker in the shots of the stage and audience. Very strange but great to hear them singing together.
The song is about a man from Uist who emmigtrated to Canada, but returned home every year to cut peat for his mother so she would have fuel for the winter. He is "the Cutter". "The diesel's turned" refers the engines of the ship that presumably took him to Canada.

Such a Great man, singer and now an Angel looking over us.
God Bless you and your family
Proof that both Donnie AND Bruce complimented each other's vocals and were great servants to Scotland's greatest ever band. 💙🥃🏴💙

Made my day 😂😂😂👍
I had a similar experience on Portree High Street a good 15 years ago! Donnie did not seem impressed by all the gawking...
a trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Darian Alejandro Definitely, I've been watching on flixzone} for months myself :D

Bruce hatte eine großartige Stimme. Schade das diese für immer verstummt ist und dieser fantastischer Sänger von uns gehen musste.😢😢

I still come back to this performance when I think of you Dan. Forever your devoted wife.

The Cutter is a great story that resonates with the displaced by choice or force.
2 years ago today - do you remember Stirling :-)

My old man sang like Donnie all his life and never made a penny😀
They all sound so good together. Those harmonies. Magic. Ah, to have been there!

From 4:11 to 4:21 the way they both hold their plectrums and play with them is identical! Love it
Wonderful video! Foot-tapping, heart-warming, smiley stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Donnie forever...this song will stay with me for a long time, as I'm torn too between two cultures..
Phenomenal Band 🤗

i had no idea Donnie had sung with them -
One of my favorite Runrig songs. Used to bounce my baby daughter on my knee and listen to this one on repeat. She loved it.

How many bands have two drum kits?

I really like this song but I'm not too sure of the meaning. What does "since the diesels turned" mean? What is "The Cutter?"
Adam Fairchild cutting the peat for his mother when he came home from moving to canada
The song is about a man from Uist who emmigtrated to Canada, but returned home every year to cut peat for his mother so she would have fuel for the winter. He is "the Cutter".
"The diesel's turned" refers the engines of the ship that presumably took him to Canada.
Anyone know where this part is from? It's not on the dvd i have
it should be on there. they seem to have put together video parts from rehearsal and concert, with the concert audio track for the youtube version
What Drumheads Iain use here? Remo Ambassadors ore Emperors?
