F+1+2 was an abomination. But -12 on it , and no tracking on second hit … its a lot, but what is weird to me, is that they put the desert eagle to it immediately, but dragunov qcf+4 they are so reserved about. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth of high level players and competitors like you, i would imagine, because what exactly is the balance philosophy here? What is the standard? Will my character i invested hundreds of hours in for tournament be the same? Or does he get the glock to the head? Idk..
I think it's a little silly to think Clive's f1+2 is dead lol. It's still homing, for one. And the award from using it outways not using it. Why is there such an overreaction to nerfing a move so overpowered, that the devs couldn't really see any other part of his kit? I think that's the real issue here. There was no diversity in how people played Clive.
I think when Mulgold and Ulsan just abused the move in the recent tournament finals and abandoned their mains for him, they didn’t like that. Which I agree with. The move is OP but the problem was how you can just spam it and win at the highest level, it wasn’t a good look for Tekken. I love Clive and still been kicking ass with him even with the nerf to F1+2. He’s still a problem for most of the community and I love it
@@Hi-Hi1990it's still viable its true but to throw it out at -12 isn't smart. It's like a kazuya throwing out df2 and not caring about it being punishable.
Changes seem good, I agree that d1 is a bit too good on the frames, it should probably be -1 (something similar to Lidia's d2) but I'm not sure. Clive's small tekken is not great, so it would be a big hit to a fundamental tool. 1+2 definitely should recover slower too, it's deceptively hard to punish on whiff. Not necessary changes though, I think he's in a good position now.
The only attack I think might need to be a bit clearer on the punish now is his titan powercrush, stepping it is a bit weird sometimes and maybe 1+2? Weird that he's the only one with a safe demon breath if I remember correctly.
I think Clive is going to take a while to fully get "right." F1+2 dominated his game plan so much that the devs couldn't really determine what other stuff in his kit might need a buff or nerf, so it'll be a journey with Clive, I think. I still think f1+2 is a very good move, but really, I'm confused why they don't just give it a homing property? Make it officially homing and make it -12 or -13 on hit. Idk. I'm kind of sick of these psuedo homing moves and strings that act like homing, but aren't. Anyway, I've never been a Clive hater. He's fun to go against despite the struggle.
Clive is still really good! Even better now if you ask me, now you are more compelled to do more than f,1+2. Love the changes, still enjoy playing Clive :). I hope they change ALL heat engagers to be unsafe on block, great changes.
I agree, playing him after the patch actually does make him feel better. F1+2 was so good you could just throw it out but it also gave the opponent +8. Now that I don’t use it as much anymore I’m not guess -8 mix ups. The move was very strong but the Clive haters haven’t gotten rid us yet
I think that the issue with nerfing the phoenix 1+2 is that if they make that unsafe, would he even have an option to use in stance that doesn't make him punishable other than the mid ramuh staff that can be floated? Generally other stance characters can cancel into block or another movement option from stance but he needs to commit to one of his otherwise he's just punishable for free.
@@leonflorence118 A move with that kind of animation looks homing, wouldn't look right to step it. It's a bit slow on start up compared to other options, so even a late jab check still beats it. Same with dick jab. They could make it a frame or two slower, but I think the move is fine.
@@leonflorence118 I mean I don’t have an issue wirh nerfing it, would be nice if he could cancel the dash as a tradeoff, would allow a bit more of an mind game to it
I mean I learned about it mashing a after the two match sets by accident so might need to make the interface a bit more clearer that you can rematch more times than before. But yeah I generally don't one and done unless the connection was bad or if the quick match got someone that's too out of my skill bracket for the time being. Though I've seen a lot of people that rematch when they win and if I win the next match they leave, I generally play Kazuya and Heihachi so I don't see this behaviour as often but i'd imagine on some of the more hated characters people might tend to leave more often.
honestly its weird how he got "fixed" so fast but we had a whole year of known problematic characters running rampant and they dont do anything about those...
It is a step in the right direction. At least now a player is not stuck in a perpetual state of defense due to range/recovery issues and can punish Clive moves. It is funny that this change happened so soon after release. Shows just how bad it is/was.
Nah, he's right there on my screen.
😂
JoKa is a youtuber now he got da titles

They nerfed him very quick when yoshi's flash and JIns d2 (scourge) still exist

Maybe because of twt..but yoshi and Jin still are a problem that they refuse to fix which is wild

Keep it up dude great stuff. Grats in your win

Thing is, Clives D1 doesn't do anything on counterhit as opposed to Lidias or Dragunovs. Having the +2 sets it apart a bit

These nerfs seem HEAVY
It wasn’t enough. The only difference is Clive players have to think just a little bit more. He’s still busted.

Make it steppable then. There shouldn't be a catch all option with no risk

When you win now, in the interview:"i would have won even against a pre nerf clive" 😂
What is the song in the background?
1+2 has to be -10 or made i14. Its too braindead right now
I am the ki charged that yoshi player, btw sorry I m
Those who played FF16...
Hes not gonna die but hes gonna be less played in pro play not broken enough anymore
Infinite rematching is back in player matches.
Unlike TK7 most players don't rematch tho.
They got spoiled throughout the last year.

Oh no you will have to use one more button now to play him
look at how they massacred my boy 😭😭😭

Obviously a clickbait title 😄 of course he needed those nerfs 👍🏼
He will need more nerfs
