  • We take a look at how to care for roses in late Fall to Winter. The simple answer is, “we do nothing.” Roses should be allow to set hips and go dormant. This way they can grow strong roots for next year. Roses should only be pruned in emergency situation when plant have:
    (1) damage canes
    (2) disease canes
    (3) dead canes.

    Lovely neighborhood, just how I picture a true American neighborhood! Hope one day I can see a street like that. So different from us.
    It’s already freezing in Europe so my roses are sleeping!

    Great advice Webster. Yes, I like to tinker with my rose all year long and forget to let them rest and develop strong roots. Thanks for the reminder 👍

    Thanks for posting this ! I bought 5 rose bushes this year and wasn't sure what to do for the winter. They are still blooming, too.

    • @mytherapygarden3909
      @mytherapygarden3909  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they will continue blooming until freeze sets in. Just allow the roses to go dormant and they will be stronger and bushier next year.

    Good information Webster! Do you plan on adding more roses in the spring?

    • @mytherapygarden3909
      @mytherapygarden3909  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I have to replace 2 DAR, Emma Hilton and Princess Alexandra of Kent, which didn’t make it. I also need 2 climbing roses for the front trellis.

      @@mytherapygarden3909 that is too bad you lost a couple but always fun to have a chance to try again! What climbers do you have in mind? Teasing Georgia is a brilliant one - not sure if I’ve seen it in your collection already. Another one that I have had incredible luck with is America - not a David Austin but gorgeous coral color, lots of petals, blooms in beautiful clusters and smells great too 🌹
