Falcons just closed their super bowl window big time with picking Penix. Yes you need to get a future behind Kirk but not right now. After 2025, they need to resign basically their entire oline, Pitts, Aj, and Bates will be looking for a new deal and they’ll need to pick up London’s 5th year. After 2026 (Penix’s projected first year starting) they’ll need to pay London and pick up Bijan’s 5th year. Then the next year they’ll have to decide on Penix with the 5th year. They truly screwed themselves taking a 24 year old qb whose floor and ceiling are extremely close in my opinion. The pick is an F- for me and their draft class overall is a D. They truly lost the division and will be lucky to finish 3rd because I truly feel the Saints passed them off. And Terry Fontenot and Raheem with how they talked to the press after the draft says they’re putting their jobs on the line with this season, especially Fontenot.
FYI: These grades are bound to change by the end of the draft. I will have all grades finalized by Monday!
